Hi guys I need proof of a watchtower article, can anybody help?
by needproof inhi, i was just reading e-watchmans website (came across it by accident, wouldn't normally entertain it) and i read that, and quote: "the august 1st, 2004, watchtower magazine carries a typical feature article entitled: "good government, where can it be found?
" the article briefly makes the case for world government and then asserts that world government has already become a reality since 1914 in the form of god's kingdom.
on page four the watchtower appears to be pandering to the sci-fi generation, saying of the tribulation: "an attack from another planet?

Sorry folks... Homophobia is alive and well in the West Indies. The last time I visited my aunt, she noticed that my black jeans were a bit too tight and my hair was dyed electric blonde. (I'm black, by the way). Despite the fact that I'm probably getting myself into more heterosexual drama than one man should get himself into (Good Girl Or Bad Girl and No Apologies know of my heterosexual drama too well!) my family ostracized me because they thought I was gay.
In fact, in the West Indies, homosexuals are looked upon with pure contempt because they're seen as the reason HIV is in the population, which is a major scourge over there, if you don't know. The highest HIV rates in the western hemisphere are in the Caribbean region. (You have Karposi's Sarcoma, mon.)

New Blog on Knocking Movie- Check it out
by Dogpatch inanother point made in the film is the courageous stand witnesses take on blood transfusions which has resulted in great advances in modern medicine.. .
whenever you have to defend a defenseless position, trot out the old red herring.
yes witnesses are not likely to get blood transmitted diseases.

Predictions for posters here...Where they'll be in 5-7 years...
by megsmomma ini thought it would be fun to think of positive scenarios you could see happening to the posters here.....things that are realistic.
i believe by putting good thoughts out there....helps them come true.
so....have fun...and include a "prediction" for yourself!.

Hmmmm... I predict some of us younger posters like Collegegirl, Richie, et al would be married with college degrees. A few will be outed on this forum, and there will be an influx of XJW's coming on to the forum after another Watchtower scandal.
As for me, I'll let the populous predict my future.

Jehovah Keeps His Congregation Clean
by ColdRedRain inyesterday, i was at my asperger's syndrome support meeting and i found out something very funny and shocking.
a well respected figure in my mom's congregation is an active homosexual (no, minnesota xjw's, i'm not mentioning any names.
he's an old man that's close to death, let him die in peace).

To Jason S. of Minneapolis, MN
by ColdRedRain ini know you probably check on this board from time to time.
in fact, that's where we last contacted eachother before i was at the meeting on sunday.
i just want to know how do you manage with the cognitive dissonance knowing you're attending the meetings while you know fully well about the corruption in the organization.

I just want to know how do you manage with the cognitive dissonance knowing you're attending the meetings while you know fully well about the corruption in the organization. Wait, lemme guess, you think this religion's the closest thing to the truth and you know the end is coming soon.
There are enough people living from 1975 that are on this board and are in the XJW community in the area that can tell you... IT'S A [edited]INGCROCK! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT IT'S JUST A FEAR TACTIC TO KEEP YOU IN THE RELIGION?
If you can't see past the fear tactic of the religion, at least see through their horrible science and the way how they backtracked themselves during the UN scandal.
You're a smart man. You're probably the only person in the congregation I could consider my intellectual equal. Well, until I saw you at the meeting.
I just want to tell you publicly that you're probably the biggest fool in the universe and here's to you waiting for the end of the system of things in vain while I live my life without having an authoritarian religion breathing down my neck.
Bon Soir!

I don't think it's tragic in one bit. I think it's the funniest thing on earth because this religion tries to make themselves the epitome of "cleanliness" yet he is one of many gay people that are in that church on the "Down Low". Sure, they can say "Jehovah will take care of them when Armageddon comes" but then again, since they first predicted Armageddon's arrival, the US has had 6 major wars, there have been 16 presidents, the Soviet Union was in its infancy and died.

My mom prides herself on saying how Jehovah keeps his congregation clean. Looks like he missed a spot.
