I'm 2 years removed from being a teenager so I know how you're feeling right now. For other young XJW's, I have written this advice (posted on other XJW forums) 1. Don't try to indulge in everything the outside world has to offer. Because the Witlesses said something was bad, doesn't mean it's good. Use your common sense. If it's going to kill you, don't do it. 2. Try to be outgoing with those that are on the outside world. It will make the transition much better. 3. When you're outgoing, be cheery, but don't try to overwhelm them or creep them out. You're used to a life of lovebombing, people on the outside world aren't. 4. If you feel like you need to go back to them, ask yourself if you would really feel comfortable going door to door trying to encourage people to enter into a sheltered, filtered, Orwellian existence. Be strong, and just remember, if God is out there, he's going to bless you for no longer promoting outlandish lies about him.

confused teenage witness
by smias03 inhi everyone, this is my first post.. i have come to this site for almost 2 months but have been too scared to post... don't really know what i'm scared of but i even set up a different hotmail account when i registered... anyway, i'm a 19/f who was raised a jw (baptised a year ago).
i was homeschooled, and basically had no communication with the "world" even though my father is an unbeliever.
my parents were divorced last year (unscriptual divorce from my jw mother).. and now i'm living with my dad and have not spoken to my mom, not because i have doubts about the truth (she doesn't know) but because she was a hypocrit and liar through the divorce.

Who's voice would you really like to have?
by Latte in.
if you had the chance to 'come back' as a different person, who's voice would you most like to have?
for me it would have to be either linda ronstadt or barbra streisand, failing that... shakira.

I'd really like to keep my voice. It could actually carry a tune.

I just discovered this band and I think they kick ass!
Look at these lyrics!!!!
Halls of Warship They want to witness the arrival of the lord
And the destruction he has promised to us all
Their sick conviction to the ending of the world
Live in prediction he will soon be back on Earth
They think they are the only ones who will be spared
The kingdom of Jehovah isn't really there...
Halls of warship burn, until you touch the ground
Ignited by deceit, your will of god is misperceived
Where's the virtue in the riddles of a dying king
Exiled in defeat, the end of their regime
They know who rules this world, a toll they sue to scare
Brainwash the witnesses to think he's coming here
Their only mission is the pending fear of god
Given permission to pursue a life without
A grim existence for the offspring that they breed
Return to Abraham and let us live in peace
Halls of warship burn, until you touch the ground
Ignited by deceit, your will of god is misperceived
Where's the virtue in the riddles of a dying king
Exiled in defeat, the end of their regime -

There once was a man named Jarc Who did not disfelllowship the sharks That harmed the kids in the worst way and then said Jehovah would take care of it some day And that's why I hate Jarc -------------------------- There once was a teaching called "Generations" That the false prophets taught to all the nations. When the generation was old, The rank and file were told There were no such thing as Generations.

There are many times when I'm glad I left it, and many times when I think it was too early to pull out. When being liberated from a controlling person or organization, you get many alternating highs and lows from defecting. I get a high from not having anybody controlling me anymore. But I get a new burden, the burden of controlling myself without having anybody to back me up. I never learned how to do it, and it's a bitch to learn, but I'm slowly learning it. And when I learn how to control myself and to adjust to the outside world, I will have a full life. It's similar to what the Iraqis are facing right now. Right now, they're free, but they haven't yet learned how to work with their freedoms yet, and now they're in anarchy. But as time goes on, they will become the prosperous nation they have the potential to become, and with the right decisions by their new government, they could possibly become a giant economic power.

Just like the rest of the world
by SpiceItUp ini didn't want to hijack the thread but reading:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/50019/1.ashx gave me an idea.. what are all the the ways that witnesses are like other religions or organizations.
that way when they come back with the reply that they are seperate from the world we can say say..."well not really when you look at it and here's why".

An Essay I'm Writing To My Family
by ColdRedRain ini'm working on this essay for my family (at least the ones that are open minded enough.
) to show them why it makes no sense for me to be a witless.. god has chosen a group of men that included the right hand man of a famed apocalyptic cult leader that said jesus would return in 1845, a famed swindler, a man that had a mistress, a man that based some of his dates for biblical prophecies on the great pyramid, a contemporary object not specifically mentioned in the bible, then denying he ever did that, a man who unethically took over a corporation and am alcoholic who told people to break prohibition laws in his religious journal, all to play roles his new church?
what would you think if god chose these guys just for auxiliary roles in his church?

>God has chosen a group of men that included the right hand man of a famed Apocalyptic cult leader said Jesus would return in 1845,
It's well documented that CT Russell and Miller had a close association. All I have to do is bring up information from a neutral website.
>a famed swindler,
Miracle wheat. It's also well documented, and I could get photostatic copies of old Watchtowers to back my claims up.
>a man that had a mistress,
OK, that's a rumor. I'll strike that from the essay.
>a man that based some of his dates for biblical prophecies on the Great Pyramid,a contemporary object not specifically mentioned in the bible, then denying he ever did that,
That's also well documented in some of Russell's old writings. I could get that either from the public library or from the KH library.
>a man who unethically took over a corporation and am alcoholic who told people to break prohibition laws in his religious journal, all to play roles his new church?
Pictures, mydeary, pictures. Do you remember the pictures of Rutherford holding the keg on jesus-witnesses.com? (I think that's the URL.)
