Sorry folks... Homophobia is alive and well in the West Indies. The last time I visited my aunt, she noticed that my black jeans were a bit too tight and my hair was dyed electric blonde. (I'm black, by the way). Despite the fact that I'm probably getting myself into more heterosexual drama than one man should get himself into (Good Girl Or Bad Girl and No Apologies know of my heterosexual drama too well!) my family ostracized me because they thought I was gay.
In fact, in the West Indies, homosexuals are looked upon with pure contempt because they're seen as the reason HIV is in the population, which is a major scourge over there, if you don't know.
