Oh, Carmel, I didn't even miss you. I suppose that was b/c I went w/hubby out of town so he could participate (enjoy?) a motorcycle ride in the desert. It was rainy and cold, and fortunately for him, his bike overheated at the starting line, so he came back to the trailer. I say fortunately for him, b/c desert mud turns to cement when it dries, and trying to wash it off is a bear.
Sure miss that fresh salmon. We were 3 yr on the Olympic Peninsula and we could always get fresh fish. Not so easy in Las Vegas.

Hi particles,
I, too, am a "loner" but still need friends. I like people who are talkative (not someone who talks all the time and never listens, b/c I am not a talker myself.) And, yes, I found making friends outside the org to be difficult, and still do. I am still not trusting of people and try to project the "perfect" me. I am trying to overcome that, but it is difficult. Fortunately, I was able to make friends at work, and even though I am no longer working, I still have lunch with them a couple of times a month, and talk on the phone. I belong to a large church (6000 in attendence at 3 weekend services) and I have joined a women's group at the church, so I am in the process of making friends there. One of the ladies I met there is widowed, and would like to have a male friend, but so far has not made a connection. She is looking for a part-time job to keep herself busy. I don't know your age or work experience, but, if you currently don't have a job, you might consider a part-time job, even at McDonald's, just to keep your mind off your troubles.

Revoke Your JW Baptism Vows on this thread!
by Sirona inmany of us here were baptised into the jw organisation.
shotguns shootout thread (part 5) touches on the fact that since 1985 the vows included a dedication to "jehovahs organisation".. have you publicly revoked this?.
why not use this opportunity to revoke your vows to the watchtower organisation?

I don't know what happened to my post yesterday???
Anyway, I DA'd myself in July '94 by writing a letter to Bethel with a copy to my local congregation, so I am assuming that nullified my baptism in 1970! Writing that letter was very satisfying, but if JWD had been out there at that time, I would have done it differently, by sending copies to all my "friends" (not that it would have made a difference in their reaction, but at least they would have had my view point.)

Do they still cover the mirrors in the ladies rooms? I never could figure that one out - the women would pull up a corner and fix their hair or makeup, and more would crowd around, all trying to use that one small area of mirror. Just made the situation worse than if they had left the mirrors uncovered. Oh. Maybe they figured that out and that's when they stopped doing it. Duh!

My stove is natual gas and I love it. We upgraded the range when the house was being built, so it has some bells & whistles that I never had before, but my favorite part is being able to regulate the flame.
Hubby also barbeques year 'round - 'course our weather is much more clement than some of yours. Although, when we were in Washington (Sequim) for three years, he braved the rain, and once or twice the snow.
