It is my understanding that a married couple will meet again after Armageddon. What happens when one or both remarry after the death of one or both or several marriages, don't we have a poligimous situation?

by pjj62 indoes anyone know if the jw membership is increasing or decreasing?

In the PEW report, the Watchtower is the fastest growing religious group in the world. However, it has the largest percentages of desenters. They seem to posh the increase in baptisims as a means of showing an increase. This does not meet the smell test.

Herbert W. Armstrong - memories
by Jim_TX inan ad that appears when viewing certain pages on the jwd web site refer to herbert w. armstrong - and his religion.. i remember this fella... not personally - but through the radio - and his preaching that he used to do on the air.. i remember tuning in a radio station - far far away (when i was a kid) - in del rio, tx (or perhaps across the border in mexico - xerf?).
he would get air time, and then preach - for what seemed like hours - although, i'm sure that it was only a 30 minute spot - or perhaps an hour-long spot of air-time.. i even seem to remember telling my mom at the time how much he sounded like jehovah's witnesses - in what he was preaching about.. i also remember my mom defending the jws - saying - essentially - that herbert armstrong was a kook.
armstrong had his own set of literature... i really think that he was a 'subscriber' to jw literature... and probably stole many ideas from the watchtowers... or other publications that he could get his hands on.. or... perhaps it's the other way... perhaps the jws 'borrowed' from his literature.. in any case... it brings back memories.. regards,.

As far as I know the Christian belief system started prior to the breakup which resulted in the Orthodox and Catholic Religions. All Christian religions are offshoots of these two organizations. THere is nothing new . All the religions that exist today are the result people's dissatisfaction with the status quo of their time. Some are more moderate in their dogma and others are not. You will note all these so called "new Christian religions" are founded on a single persons interpretation of the Bible. Only the Jews and the Muslams seem to keep their basic religious beliefs intact. I don't know about Buddists. Does anyone know when the Catholics and Orthodox started.

Wife has gone back to the Organization...what can I expect??
by Shadow1 inmy wife and i have been married for just over one year.
while we were just dating, she had told me that she used to belong to the jehovah's witnesses, but no longer had those beliefs.
i thought i could handle all of this (i am a non- believer), but she has since got back to the org (all her family belong as well).

THere must be a way out of this delema. There seems to be a lot of people who don't participate in the org without being DF'd. If you want to keep the family together you must find a way, even if you tell a little white one. JWs are experts at breaking up families through mind control.

If Adam did not sin, would humans have lived forever on earth?
by jwfacts inthe new testament talks consistently of a heavenly hope, not an earthly one and the idea that humans are to live forever on earth is not supported scripturally at all.. however, what would have happened if adam and eve had not sinned.
the watchtower likes to make the point that it is only sin that caused adam and eve to die.
romans 5:12 that is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.. what do christians believe regarding this scripture?

The whole story of Adam and Eve is a myth as is the same for all the stories in the Bible. Hope I did not burst someones bubble.

Undercover's approach is the right approach. You might put your sentences in the form of a single question. Good luck.
