Some elders and MS wives dressed absolutely classy.; Looked fab actually. ; Great hair cuts too with the latest trendy styles; There were those as Mulan said that were "dowdy" but they would have been regardless of their religion.; There's just that sort out there I suppose.

when i was a witness, we would sometimes get people who were disfellowshiped or disassociated that protested the assemblies or kingdom hall.

perhaps there are a few who have done this on this board.

i remember a few comments made by people in the congregation when they saw these people.

Interesting.

I left the org about a year ago now. I mean, I'd been staying away for about four months solid before I did. We did not do halloween but I did give my daughter a birthday. Then we did decide to get christmas. It was a thrill for us all.

I did not care if they saw my tree or lights on the porch. Fact, I'd show it off as it was covered with all new ornaments. It was gorgeous. Faux tree though since I remember way back when I did have real trees long before the JW "condition" and I thought they were a mess.

However, my mother, still a JW, told ONE "sister"in her congregation. They do not know me as I am in a different town. But it was one of those dynasty families that had married in to one of the dynasty families in my old congregation. The PO called and said that there were "mumblings going on" that we were doing christmas. My husband, who never EVER would become a JW said back "If I want christmas, I'll have it. That's never been an issue" So they assumed that just my worldly husband was doing christmas and not me. Riiiiiiiiiight, now that makes sense. I think it was an extension of a loop hole for me so that I could climb back in if I wanted cus the PO was a friend of ours. And I did like him a lot.

However, when they started to harrass me to DA myself. I refused to even give them any of my time. I felt it was a power trip of theirs. They then wrote me a letter saying that they would treat me as a DF person if I DA'd and to remember that. Funny, they called and invited the worldy husband to go fishin! So sweet...they'll shun me but go fishin with the worldly non believer. Haven't been bothered in a long time now. Now that I've said that, do you suppose they'll be at my door? Patio is lined with lovely pumpkins awaiting their carving for the evil festivities this month.

Do you accept anger from others?

i would say that i get up each morning in a pretty good mood.

i get ready for work, drive there and then go about my business.

because people want to give you the anger to make them feel like others are having a bad day too, when you bounce it away.

If you ignore it when they pass it to you, they will just stop passing you the ball ~~full stop~~, no matter what it contains....anger is just one ball that can be passed. You want to be approachable...especially as an employer...so how YOU react to their venting will determine who you are as a person/man/employer/husband/father/friend etc.

Does emotion really mean anything?

lets for a moment agree that we a evolved and no god was involved in the matter.we were not created in gods image and are not endowed with his qualities.. do the emotions we feel mean anything or are they just an illusion without true meaning?for example is the more intense feeling of love toward your family just a leftover from evolution, where maybe at one time it served to keep you in a pack so you were safe from harm?is a special attatchment to blood relations really benifical anymore?.

why do we have a need to be loved or to love or in fact do we?are happiness a saddness just a chance fluke of nature that happen to fall in place to fit cetain happenings in our lives?maybe some people feel happy at things that sadden us because of natural variation not evilness on their part?.

just why exactly and how did humans come to posess emotions?

Interesting things you mentioned. I must admit to thinking about it a lot. For some reason, I have dismissed a god in the picture myself....for a multitude of reasons that most who BELIEVE in god would find inexcusable...been there done that. I just cant' help it. Emotion is an amazing thing..so why is it that our creator would have it so amazingly in check? That he/she/it can look upon the devastating things mankind can do to the innocent and do nothing? And we only say we are too small and insignificant to question such a being. Sorry, I feel very entitled to question. It is just that there is no one, or thing that I can find to question. Maybe, MAYBE, there is a force of creation. That's the best I can do. But the answers to the amazing things we find is simply not available.

My sister is a Christian. She asked what I say now to my children when they ask about the very difficult things in life that most parents answer with the "God" things like "We go to heaven" or "Only our Lord is aware of that, trust Him" or "God will never let such things happen"....I told her that this GOD seems to let a lot of things happen. So I focus on teaching my kids to "see the beauty of this world as well as feel the pain of it" and you can learn and move forward. It is the best I can do without filling them up with things I cannot prove.

some are very bright, while others are not.

as it was mentioned, if we do not take ourselves too seriously no one will but also there is that other adage that the higher we stand the further we fall......is there some happy medium?
