Letters from readers
by QCA1 inhi to everyone.. i was outside my workplace the other day having a smoke and what did i spy but 2 well dressed men with brief cases,i knew straight away they were jws.i was hoping they would come while i was on my break but they were going to other work places first.my break was finally over and to my disappointment they did'nt come till i had left.
anyway,my boss knows that i am interested in all things jw so he took there booklet.. i was reading the letters page and here's what 1 letter says.restless legs.
i've just read your article "do you have restless legs"(november 22nd 2000) i have suffered with this for 18 years,i thought that i was alone.i've often cried because of frustration and lack of sleep, and i have had all sorts of medication.

Wow, I remember the love of xanax days. I was extremely careful with those and gave them up only after a few months. As you said above, "tooooo nice"
Had a friend who was battling breast cancer. She, too, took xanax like they were yummy flintstone vitamins. She had to give up many of her meds as she battled the cancer. Here this wonderful, insightful woman fell deep into a great emotional turmoil and last christmas, took her life. I really agree that we need to be awful careful about drugs! BTW, I was never warned about how addictive xanax was but I heard enough on tv.
regarding those letters from readers, isn't it interesting how often JWs wrote in describing how close to suicide they often were until they got some great article in one of their subscriptions. In reading the wording of the letters, they were written by JWs that is for sure, not some worldly one that picked up the magazine and their life was saved. But they do try to push that one on us regularly.
Dunno, just thought it was rather alarming how many JWs were so close to taking their lives when the article arrived at "just the right" moment.

Oh girl, can I share this???? LOL
I can totally relate to how you feel.
I had a great, good paying job. Due to problems requiring my son to be removed from the school system for a quarter and be home tutored, I had to give up my job. I did, however, get another one that paid well and was flexible and very family oriented. And I might add, was a small private business and the two others I worked with I became very fond of. Well, hard times hit downtown and the business had trouble. All things pointed to retirement for this 12 year old business. I was out of work. Since then, I have submitted my resume...professionally written and my contacts are excellent and I have skills...god they're in there somewhere. Not one place has hired me. Come to find out, None of my contacts have been called! No one even checks my many excellent references! Out of desperation, I took jobs that paid half what I made working with young women young enough to date my son! And I am not flippen kidding (And I thought 37 was young!). I am now not working. I was just disgusted with the way some places were and I cant' go back to thinking in the box of these homogenized businesses. Oh the stories! They're laughable but true. My husband has tried to encourage me to not give up but I have. I've decided to finally just go back to school. take up cello again, maybe fulfill my dream of playing in the symphony I don't know but apparently I am getting old!!!!lol
Anyway, you aint alone. (smiles to you..my emoticons don't work)

can the marriage work
by DIAMOND inis it even remotly possible that a marriage can work if the wife is a jw and the husband who has been one for over 30 years is on his way out.
is there any advice on how this can work or is it just doomed for divorce!!!!
i love my wife and kids but she's not handeling this very well at all.

If I repeat another post, I apologize, I don't have time to read them all. I just wanted to say that the marriage can only work depending on how much the WTS was involved in your marriage in the first place. Some people put it ahead of their marriage, seeing it as God first. It is, in my opinion, always a bad idea to put any church ahead of one's marriage. Marriage is the union of two to become one. Not that stupid equation that with god in bed with you things work better. I just never bought in to it.
Only you can say if you and your wife did things the way it made you feel good about your relationship or not. Some couples do not. Is she truly your friend? Or is she a partner in worship? Did you marry because you both thought the other was a "good choice" of marrying in the lord? Or did you marry because you were completely and hopelessly in love? You'd have to honestly look back on it all. . Again, only YOU really can analyze it properly..and I certainly wish you the best. It will be a tough one to overcome but if you had a good marriage that was the TWO of you before, you can survive it.

Cuban Underwater City: update
by Nathan Natas inlink: http://www.unknowncountry.com/news/?id=2039.
will we ever learn about cuban underwater city?.
one reason we're not getting more information about what looks like a cuban underwater city is that for paul weinzweig and his wife paulina zelitsky of advanced digital communications (adc), exploring it is only a sidelinethe company has been hired to hunt for shipwrecks filled with gold and jewels, and to find oil and natural gas reserves.

I saw another program in reference to the large stones off of the florida keys. They worked with the theory that there were many civilizations destroyed when the ice age ended. The ice caps literally exploded as they melted causing massive destruction with outragious tsunamis that eveloped coastal regions further south, never to be resurfaced. Most civilizations were coastal at that time due to the lack of areas to live up north. It is theorized that much of those left had to start from square one and much of the advanced life styles were lost when so many communities were destroyed. They believe this is where the many stories of global floods came from, Noah, Atlantis, and several others I can't remember at this moment. But in saying so, many argue because then it puts in to question the theory that man has not been civilized for more than 10,000 years. We were grunting around with arrows and spears for millions of years and then quite suddenly we became more uniform. These new findings really put a lot of that in to a "new light" (lack of a better word I am afraid, lol). That coupled with the lack of research funds for something that only seems to benefit SCIENCE and history....they can only do so much. Obviously, underwater archeology is not a priority to most countries. They say to find it on land or forget it. Unfortunately, things on land can be destroyed and reused by many following civilizations and all evidence is lost.

Are you afraid to die?
by kenpodragon ini was about 12 years old when this happened, but i remember it like it was yesterday.
it was a late evening and i was by myself in our home.
i grew up in a country home far from most any thing.

I think it is not being dead that bothers me but rather, how will I accomplish it? Whatever it is, we all reach it, that is for sure. My sister and I were discussing her husband's grandmother's recent passing. She had said over and over in her death bed that she wanted to go. When she ended up in a rest home, she was miserable. I could'nt blame her. Even if you recieve visitors, do you wish to just wait for death? Gawd she was 93. So I guess I am also troubled by the idea of living too long.

Tell us something we don't know
by ballistic inabout yourself.... my pc is in my bedroom.
i do, in fact, have a pc in each room connected by a lan, but this is my pc and this is my very comfortable corner where i like to chill out, play mutliplayer games over ther internet, and of course post numerous fluff posts at jwd.
just by me is a window which, until last week, looked out on some beautiful trees.

wow, the brain thing....well, what can I say? I had NO idea there were people like you Valis.
I have a PC in the little area next to my bedroom too, used to be a nursery now it is a tiny office.
All the trees are gold and red here in Montana. Looks great really. I am making a cake for my daughters birthday this week. It is tiered like a wedding cake but I spray painted the stilts metallic gold. The cake is going to be frosted in black with jack o lanterns all over it and the very top of it will have 12 long orange tapers. Sounds fun eh. Then friday we are taking her to see the production of Bizets Carmen. I love birthdays now, especially when they are flavored with a pagan holiday!
