  venting.... hubby visited with sil (with gotee intact), got the wt don't approve speech and the 'we've been missing you at the meetings".. he gave all the excuses he could for why we weren't there.

  i'm at the point of just telling them the truth as why... but we will be giving up our grandchildren.

  i just don't know if i can do it, give up the grandkids.

  Lots of late night conversations where we both agreed that we weren't sure we wanted to continue being witnesses. But nothing changed. We still went to the meetings. I'd go to please him and bc of guilt. Towards the end, I stopped going but he continued. It was a battle, really. I think if we had both decided we were done that maybe we would have survived.

  i knew him since he was a baby, i remember when he was born.

  sad fact is he was a spoiled brat and never disciplined for anything.

  Oh My God!!

  yesterday after an awesome workout at the gym i was walking to the front door and i saw my former friend who is a "spiritually strong" (non-thinking) jw walking towards me talking with a trainer.

  i thought she was either there on a job interview or was taking a tour of the facilities before joining.. i thought should i say hi, should i say nothing, would she acknowledge me, etc.

  i decided to say hi to make sure that she remembered that i am a member of this gym, so that she would not feel uncomfortable it she accepted a job there or joined it.. the gym is about 20 miles from where she lived when i was friends with her, but is in a convenient location between where she was living and where she works.. i said "hi n" about five feet before me, no response.. i said "hi n" a little louder about five feet after they passed me.

  She sounds like she was your girlfriend. You liked her enough to study and she liked you enough to ask you to please study. Well, I guess it's a good thing that you moved on. Jws can be difficult as life partners.

  some of you are aware of where i'm at with this whole thing.

  i still occasionally go to meetings for family reasons but my attendance has been lack luster at best.

  i'd say i go about once a month if that.. i empathize with those who are wary of taking the ultimate stand for fear of losing their family.

  Im curious to see what my reaction would be if I returned. My last few meetings and finally the DC I was so disgusted with the entire thing I could barely keep my thoughts under wrap. It'd be interesting to experience the shunning again. I haven't cared for so long about it.

  Btw, Billy the Kid you sound just like RottenRiley who also just recently joined! Siblings or same person?

  i haven't been to a meeting in over a year, and as you know as soon as you stop attending meetings/fieldservice the "conditional" love becomes more apperant.

  the coordinating elder starts off by saying how much he loves and misses me, etc.

  i ask him, when was the last time you called or texted me?

  i was once counseled for not shaving after two days.

  i was also counseled by a sister for eating lucky charms cereal.
