Agreed!
And are you going to do an interview Cofty? I would love to read that.
i am really enoying the many interviews that have been posted over the past few days, hopefully there will be lots more to come.. would it be possible to collect them all in a new sub-forum for future reference?
.
it would be a shame if they disappeared down the topics list never to be seen again..
Agreed!

the last report i gave in was for the month of may, meaning as of today, i have missed 6 months of reports, and am officially inactive!
(though the last time i actually went out was march, gave fake reports for april and may).
feels like a milestone.
I think I must have spent around 2000 hours of my life in field service. Wish I hadn't worked that out now.
why do we have assemblies?
was the topic of the book/brochure study last week.. the answer not presented is that they are the organization's black friday.
stores do black friday as a loss leader to get people into the stores to spend money on more pricey stuff, not discounted.. assemblies are put on to give away books and other literature and have dramas to get people in to donate and contribute more than normally done.. yes, religion is a business.
I hate how every assembly is the best assembly ever.
i've been developing this thought in my head for a few weeks.
let's address this from a theists perspective and from the perspective of our jw relatives.
answer - no, god can't be wrong or make a mistake.
Sure Comatose, I just meant that I am not convinced a JW would agree with you that 'everyone else agrees god can't be wrong', not that I think it's a solid doctrine.
i attended the circuit assembly this weekend.
it was boring as always (except for one positive thing that was said was that we should be gentle especially the elders).. there was one thing that left me absolutely speechless.
the co was explaining how to measure neighbourly love: by the amount of time spent in fieldservice.. the next point he mentioned was that we should strictly adhere to the disfellowshipping arrangments and not find excuses to speak to df family members.. .
'What's the point in helping people out if they just end up dying at Armageddon anyway?'
Ever heard that one before?
The 61 QFR is a good quote Blondie, typical Watchtower speak. Strongly hinting that it is wrong to give to a non-Watchtower charity effort without actually saying it.
this is what my 1000th post was.

beer and museums, loving that idea!-cofty.
24 posts a day!
Put it like that, doesn't sound as bad.

Feels like a milestone. So this is my celebration thread.
How good do you feel not having to go out on 'field service' anymore? I really cannot think of anything in life I have hated more than that activity. Good riddance!

Like Tec I'm not convinced you would get the answers you have suggested. JW theology is that non-JW humans and demons do not recognise that God knows best.
Anyway, for the best universal sovereignty issue response, see Romans 8 -
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us
the lead elder co of my hall said he was going to push for a jc meeting.
i could tell all along all hes interested in is protecting his god the org.. so i'm 90% sure now of going on the offesive and first having a family meeting telling them i'm offically quitting and how its going to play out and how i'll will be shunned even though i have commited no sin.
i also may explain a little of why and how i came to this decision with out bashing the org to much out of respect for my wife.
Very good letter!
i enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between atheists and theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the wt and related things.
i wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.
it gets so tiring to see the contstant bickring and fighting on those threads.. they seem to go on page after page but very little of substance is discussed seeing as the existence or non existence of a god can be proven by anyone.
I just got off the phone to my lord. He asked 'why can't we all just get along?'
