The elder was single, and a hard nosed JW and didn't want to be disrupted during the book study.
I 've known a few like this indiviudal. When they get married and have their own kids , they expect all the consideration in the world for their own.

I got yelled all the time.
My husband got a lot of smacks .
With my child I let him bring what ever he wanted . I also took him out of the meetings a lot on small breaks.

well, that?s what i would have said when i was an active jw.
As a hard-core Jw, I hardly ever gave to any kid that gave to my door. I hardly ever gave to any charity. Why would I want to give money to wordly people when I could give it to the society? The odd time that I did give anything I felt guilty for days. AAAAAAAARGH!
Now I love it when children come to the door selling cookies or chocolates. I am making up for all the times I turned these poor kids away. I love to see the smiles on their faces.

Yep, that was me the model dub citizen.
Being a good example in the congregation is dependant on how many hours you spent in service and how many converts you make.
Since I met this criteria I was considered a very mature and spiritual woman. I was used a lot for assembly parts.
I found out later that there were brothers who were interested in me but backed off because they felt they could not live up to my standards. (how sad)
Yes I had a stellar reputation. Many in the circuit still view me as such.
If only they knew what's really going with me!!

As to the list Jw say that Jehovah come first but in reality the governing body come first for most of them.

am Not a JW - married 20 yrs to a brand new JW and am being constantly told that joining this club is being done for us & our relationship.

the other day when the overseer was over, he started talking about how good the cong was and how it was the best as far as publishers.
he mentioned that we only had 0 irregular, and 0 inactive publishers.
this is bs.
I know of 6 brothers/sisters that only go out preaching once every 3 moths or so (I've known these brothers since childhood, so I know they are not lying to me)
I am wondering if these individuals are fudging a bit too and reporting a fake number on the months they don't go out.

i remember years ago when my mom and i would travel great distances to the week long conventions.
we always had to travel with another sister whos husband was also "unbelieving".
anyway, her daughter and i would put the watchtower and awake mags in the back window to show everyone who we were.
I remember those days very well.
We usually travelled together with another family and yes the watchtower and awake always in the back for all to see.

as you all know, i'm still a jw in 'good standing' albeit labeled 'spiritually weak' because i miss many meetings and turn in the lowest service time possible each month.
all part of the slowest 'fade' ever known.. having said that, i'm always looking for ways to minimize interaction with the jw organization.
so, my question is..... do i really have to be enrolled in the ministerial school and give parts, or can i not be enrolled and still be considered a jw in 'good standing'???.
No you don't have to be enrolled. I still attend meetings and I notice that there are many members who are not part of the school.
Since you are considered "weak" they would probably leave you alone.
Just a suggestion if they pester you , tell them that your nerves aren't what they used to be and its too stressful for you to go on stage. This should keep at bay.
