  Waking up - introduction

  i am a male, born into the jw cult(ure), baptized as a teen, now mid fifties.

  most of my life i dreamed of hugging pandas and lions, punctuated at times by nightmares of armageddon or jw drama and politics.

  it is so good to know that I am alone. However, I am very sad that my wife is still completely deluded and reacts so dramatically when I occasionally ignite her CD. I empathize with her, because I too suffer the pain of CD, when the things I was taught to believe collide with the recognition of reality.

  Don't be too sad about your wife. There are many experiences here of wives that eventually came around to see the situation without her rose colored glasses. I was one of them. It took a long time but eventually I "saw" too.

  2 questions remain in the passing of brother prince:.

  will an autopsy, that won't be made available for several weeks, reveal that he died of a drug overdose?.

  did prince bequeath a large sum of money to watchtower corporation upon his passing?.

  BEWARE - More force adding on FB

  they are doing it again.. a new group trying to boost membership is adding people without permission.. "ex-jehovah's witnesses aka behind the veil of jw.org" added me this afternoon.

  they were bragging about how quickly they grew to over 2000 members.

  i quickly exited the group.

  i remember hearing that the anointed that died would start ruling at the start of the thousand year reign.

  now it seems they are teaching that these deluded bozos that die get to rule right now in heaven.

  I think that once you take a step back, you are really able to see it for what it is. I don't think I've felt that awful dread you describe though.

  what do you think is the main reason why so many young ones are waking up?

  seems as though the number of baptisms even for the young ones is down from what people report here.

  at my former hall the young ones are all in totally sheltered even while going to school.

  expressing thier desires to pioneer etc.

  I don't see a huge exodus of young people. Believe or not the young jw's are having loads of fun. Many are world travellers (under the guise of going where the need is great). Service is a joke. I see pictures of groups of these kids standing with their carts and having a great socialization with each other.

  When I was growing up , there was a lot of the young population that left or got disfellowshipped, but I have not seen one young person being disfellowshipped . At least not in my area.
