  I rarely let you know how much I enjoy your commentaries to the wt. But I should. So today I am posting to let you know how great they are. I look forward to them every week. Thanks for all your hard work.

  I wont always post, but be assured that come saturday I look for your commentary. Its the only way I can get by.

  I hope you are well . I am glad that you have finally made the break from wt. I look forward to one day being able to rid myself of this albatross around my neck.

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses Becoming More Outreach Minded?

  in 2001 when houston was flooded, thousands of jw volunteers turned up to help fellow jws and a few non-witnesses benefited as well.. in 2002 when mount nyirangongo in goma, congo erupted jws sent aid that helped both jws and non-jws alike.. http://www.jw-media.org/newsroom/index.htm?content=humanitarian.htm .

  and according to the feb. 15, 2003 watchtower, under the heading "life in a refugee camp" material assistance has been given to everyone in these camps in tanzania.

  see page 16 and especially this quote: "the witnesses in europe have collected tons of soy milk, clothes, shoes, schoolbooks, and soap.

  I find that hard to believe. If the Watchtower is really giving to others, it must have ulterior motives. Maybe the ratings are dropping and they need to bring them up.

  DID CHARITY EVER FIND YOU , AS A MEMBER OF THE BORG.

  i can honestly .

  i can honestly say that i never saw the effects of love /care /consideration / especialy christian love ,but i did experience fickle type backbiting friendships /jealousy/and greed followed by me,ismn charity was never present.the need or concern for others not of the faith was totaly lacking , in retrospect we led our lives, only ocasionaly offering a few ponds to charitys, only if a collector pushed or shook a tin within your face ,.

  the reason being that the kingdom work must come first regardless of all the inhuman suffering exploding around you, hunger starvation,death ,pain .

  Once, I made the mistake of saying to someone that I gave to the cancer society. The sis chewed me out. She told me that our money should only go to support the Wt. Why would I want to support this dying world? She made me feel so guilty.

  I learned the real meaning of charity once I understood what a farce this organization is.

  I give freely now whereever I can. It feels so good.

  But not one penny goes to Watchtower. That feels good too.

  Have We Really Been Lied To?

  we were told that the brothers in mexico had been oppressed by the government, so that they could not sing or pray at meetings.

  we were not told that the society had registered as a "cultural" organization because religious organizations were not allowed to own property in mexico.

  as a "cultural" organization, the brothers were obliged to downplay the religious aspect.

  My husband and I were in Mexico years ago. We looked high and low for a kingdom hall. When we found it , we thought it odd that it did not have a "Kingdom hall of JW" sign in front. I naively thought it was because of their poor conditions.

  When I read Ray Franz's books, that incident came to mind and the pieces of what we saw all came together.

  It took me a long time to digest the fact that the Watchtower lies and misleads to suit their needs. Now I don't put anything past them.

  What Do You Think Is the Typical Attitude Of The Average JW Now?

  do you think that the average elder, ms, pioneer or publisher is different in attitude today?

  would the witness of 10 or 20 years ago, have the same way of thinking as today's jw's?

  When I am at the meetings, I look around at the faces of the bro and sis. Most have a spaced out look. Some look brain dead.

  I think that the vast majority of Jw have become quite complacent, almost doing things as an act of obligation rather than out of love.

  Thirty or twenty years ago there was more zeal among the bro. and sis., I don't see that anymore.

  Is everyone on this Web Board a Jehovah's Witness Basher?

  i grew up in the religion and was baptized at.............supposedly the most important day in our lives and i cannot remember how old i actually was, anyways...... i believe it was 13 or 14. i was never disfellowshipped.

  i have a "worldly" boyfriend whom i love dearly, and i no longer attend the "meetings".

  i do not disagree with the organization entirely; in fact i am not even sure if i disagree with it at all.

  Sandy,

  It's wrong to bash other people. Most on this board have nothing bad to say about the individuals among the JW ranks. Most of Jw's are very sincere people.

  If you continue to read, you will realize that the problem lies not with the people but with the teaching and structure of this organization.

  If you give yourself enough time to read and research you wil com to realize like most of us that the Watchtower org. is not based on the truth. This is not God's organization. This is a cult. But you have to convince of that yourself. You ought it to yourself and to your future children.

  I urge you to educate yourself. You might start by reading Ray Franz's "Crisis of Conscience" and "In Search of Christian Freedom". These are objective books that will give you insight on this organization.

  How Do You Enjoy Your Life Now???

  now that you aren't making 5 meetings per week and going out in field service and doing all that personal study, what occupies your time?

  does your life give you a sense of fulfillment?

  I still attend meeting, but I like my life much better. Gone are the guilty feelings for not doing enough. I feel that a heavy load has been lifted off my shoulders.

  Really the real TRUTH has set me free.

  I can read what I want when I want. I can talk to people without the nagging thought that I should be preaching to them. I can do volunteer work and help the less fortunate without feeling that I should be banging on door instead. I could go on and on.

  When I can cut ties for good my enjoyment will be complete

  There is nothing new under the sun. The drum rolls continue. At last year's D.Convention, a supposed "NEW" book was released. It was entitled "Worship the only true God". The excitement was palpatable. Everyone clapped and clapped.

  In my area no one realized that there is nothing new about this book. Its just a rehash of the old "United in Worship ". The new book is in paperback and has some colorful pictures. Aside from this , its a word for word copy of the old. Also, they removed a few chapters, one of which was the blood chapter.

  I am amazed to hear long time pioneers be so trilled about this supposed "new" book. It got such praise from the kingdom hall stage. It was hailed as such a wonderful provision from Jehovah.

  The GB dishes out what ever it wants and JW's will accept it and embrace with excitement. If the GB decided to pass out a little poison, they would say:"How wonderful, how sweet what a wonderful provision from Jehovah".

  I started posting at the tail end of the last forum. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I like the new look and hope to really enjoy this forum. I already feel a closeness to many of the posters. It's a great outlet for me since I can't really express myself openly to those around me.

  Are You Or Aren't You Still a Witness?

  I am living a double life. I am still considered a witness because I still go throught the motions for the sake of family. In my heart I do not consider myself a Jw. My hubby (apocalypse) is the same. I always chucke when I see him go up on stage (he still holds a position). I think of what members of the congregation would think if they knew that an apostate was on stage and one in the audience. I know some of you think this is ipocritical. But one as to do what they feel is necessary to get by.
