When I was a child , a sister would tell me that the reason there was always construction around was because the end was around the corner and Jehovah had put it in their minds to build so that after armagheddon we would use these new places. By the way that was 30 years ago.

the jw's have been back at my door a couple of times since my first post.. she gave me watchtowers and showed me books and literature from the jw cd, i said i would give her something to read when she came back.
she returned today with more medical stuff printed from her cd, so i gave her the stuff i got through the internet (thankfully alot of it was pages i found through this forum).
this is how the conversation went.. jw: afternoon.
She wont read it. She wont even want to put it in her purse. Most jw are very afraid of apostate literature.

i was quite surprized when a relative of mine needed a ride to the district assembly and couldn't find one.. what surprized me was two older sisters, who have been utterly faithful over the years,separately said they aren't going.. we already know the watchtower is losing witness kids enmasse but this looks unusual.
what's left for old-timers anyway?
all the urgent depth of doctrine is gone - the society can't defend anything.
The wt policy really ties your hand when it comes to helping the elderly.
Many would like to help but when they are spending most of the time preaching who has any time left to help a poor old lonley soul.
I can remember in all 17 years of pioneering there were so many older ones and lonely ones that I could have been a source of comfort for but could not because I had to get my time in. The only way it was possible to help is if I took them in service with me so my time would not have been affected.

When I look around the congregation I see a lot of seniors over 75. How much longer can most of these last? Wt will lose many of the older ones in death in the next 10 years of so.
So with many dying off and fewer coming in watchtower will slim right down

from our point of view, we are now free of the entrapments of the watchtower cult, and i feel that it is important to share this with those of you who may need an alternative to the two "official" methods of leaving: disfellowshipping or disassociation.
