Wow! so many new members the last couple of weeks! I am so happy that many are figuring things out. I also want to give Awakening a heartfelt WELCOME.
I would have to agree with the members that have suggested to tread lightly and carefully. And I love what Jnat has said: "Don't spook the natives."
From personal experience, I know that if my husband would have told me right off the bat what he was learning and his involvement with this forum's predecessor, I would have left him. I was so "cooked" and so devoted that I would have tossed him and our marriage aside. No question in my mind. He knew that too. For the sake of our marriage and family, he kept it all in. I realized after, how difficult this was for him. But eventually through his gentle prodding and reasoning--I started to see things too. I love him so much more for this sacrifice.
My 2 cents worth: do all you can and educate yourself on what this religion is really all about. Take time for yourself and your wife. Increase the time you spend together and do fun stuff. Every once in a while draw her out. Most likely your wife has doubts of her own and things don't make sense for her either.
See if you can step down from your duties and when you go to meetings make use of your time o read other stuff. It's easy now. Just use a mobile device --sit at the very back and tune things out.
Wishing you all the best

Were you popular in your congregation or district?
by Emery innot to start some form of popularity contests here but i was wondering how popular some people were?
how far did your network go in this organization?
this question also pertains to those who are actively fading..

I wasen't popular--but I got a lot of attention. I was the role model--pioneering right out of highschool. I was a very productive pioneer. I had a lot of studies and I was on stage a lot and was interviewed at assemblies. Now that I have stepped back and do very little---I have become a nobody in their eyes. I like my situation now a lot better.

Why did you pick the name you have now
by label licker injust wondering if your name describes what you saw, how you were treated when you were "in" or now "out", maybe your personality, ect.... i'm label licker and the why i picked this name was because of all the licking up one side of elders and down the other to either be an elder or ministerial servant.
one time i was standing right in front of this brother who wasn't made an ms yet and he totally ignored me and talked right over my head speaking really loud trying to catch the co's attention.. got sick of watching the poor elderly sitting all alone or standing against the wall like a wall flower with noone to talk to and yet all these label lickers would take turns picking up the elders elderly parents and take them shopping and do their groceries at least four times a week while out in service, yet, there was noone there to take a meal to a sister who just got out of the hospital with a heart attack.
when i had shown up at her apartment with a meal she asked if i could wash her private and change her bandages.

Hi! I'm New Here
by alecholmesthedetective inhi there, as was suggested to me, i'm starting this thread to say hi to everyone.. my awakening began recently, after the new light on the 'slave'.
i felt it didn't add up and went to check and found out ttatt.
for a while i tried to find evidence of whether the wt might still be god's organization, i needn't say i couldn't.. i had already resigned as a ministerial servant and a pioneer, had already had several issues with the elders and did not put up with their nonsense for a long.

SPECIAL SEATING ARRANGEMENTS FOR ELDERS AND ELDERETTES ARE HERE!
by AuntConnie inwe have special seating arrangements in my kingdom hall where other families know they are not to go near them!
a trouble making family would intentionally take our seats until we made their life hell by lying about them.
they left our paradise kingdom hall and now i am working on changing the color of our the seats(purple, scarlet) the elders and elderettes will be sitting on.

The story of Bo Juel Jensen - the man behind the Anti-Watchtower media campaign in Norway
by cedars inhi guys.
richard e. kelly has kindly contributed a great article to jwsurvey.org on the link below.... http://jwsurvey.org/child-abuse-2/bo-juel-jensen-could-he-be-watchtowers-worst-nightmare.
richard tells the story of bo juel jensen, an ex-witness who has been doing marvellous work in raising awareness of watchtower child abuse mishandling in norway.. as with most child abuse victims, bo's story is a disturbing one.

I had watched Bo's compelling youtube video a couple of weeks ago and now his full fascinating story. I feel that many good things will come out of bo's campaign. I am looking forward to the unfolding of this scenario. Bo's story has the propensity of being the next Candace Conti.
As always Thank you Cedars for bringing it to the forum's attention
