GOD, Who Is He and Why?

since the age of 15 i wanted to know who was god and why he was who he was.

and since that day i've come to understand this, god is who he is because he is life.. i've come to understand him as the creator of all.

An interesting thought on infinity, JamesThomas. You think just a man could write the Ten Commandments? As an example of Joseph who fled when a married woman wanted him, yet those ten commandments weren't written yet.

And if God wasn't life nothing could be in existence. So if one's life was to expire, there's an intelligence greater then ourselves that is life could always bring that life back. Our example is the resurrection of Christ.

As for that silly book that was written ages ago supports that very life.

AS for, kid-A, as I said, it was my opinion, of what God maybe...As for this gender thing...God created male, female, to later stand for becoming one on union, So God declared Himself to be a male because He was head to emphasis that we all have a chain of command. God, Himself, the creator, was head of all. Therefore the Father.

Sapian, it is true that man will never fully understand God. God said Himself in Isaiah that no man will be able to completely know Him, but only in what He has already said.Anyone can create an arguement on the existence of God. That's why faith comes into play. It must be faith in order to believe. No belief brings on doubt. Achems Razar ws just an example.

Thank you Trevor. Trying to explain God isn't easy. And I haven't even scratched the surface on the issue. There are thousands, let alone million, of books on the very issue.

Yes Carmal, you're quite accurate..But those who know of Him and making an attemp to follow His statutes is difficult enough. But He's knowable only through faith.

God is a woman, Lilycurly? In basic logic God is neither male or female. God took the masculine term because He was the Creator and head so people could understand His poisition as in man and woman. But allow me to make myself clear on this issue........man is not superior. Neither is woman. Man and woman are not complete until they become one. They complete one another and begain a chain of command in life. Man uses logic..woman uses enotion to complete one another. They look to one another for answers. But in todays society they refuse to look towards one another for answers..that's why there is so much divorce....it's called PRIDE. Not in each other but in self.

Marriage is to look towards one another and seek together to God. With God all things are possible.

Since the age of 15 I wanted to know who was God and why He was who He was. And since that day I've come to understand

this, God is Who He is because He is life.

I've come to understand Him as the Creator of all. Let me break it down as I see Him;...It's rough to explain God. Now as scriptures says it no one can really know Him, except to what He said He was. We've seen Him in His nature..in other words He shows us His nature, yet at the same time He never goes against His true nature.

He has told us He is God. Plus His personal name, and He has a few, is YHWH. Basically His name is not prnounceable.........

"for My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher then the earth, So are My ways higher then your ways, And My thoughts then your thoughts."----ISAIAH 55: 8,9----

So, no matter how much we try to figure out this God, we'll never make it. And since we are created with a, " Free Will," we'll continue to try to figure Him out and really never, ever, come to the right choice.

Before anything was created, as I understand it, This Supreme Being, had the intelligence to know that we had to have the smarts to know what a God was. So He put wisdom in our brain to learn what a God was.

Next step God had to create, in us, the ability to understand Him in simple terms, because we'll never have the ability to know all of who and what God is. The proof in that is we have a hard enough times in remembering a few dozen names and there are a thousand, thousands, sand on earth and thousands of stars in the heavens and God named them all and remembers their names.

God, as we know Him, that may not be the fullness of who He is, but God is because that's the way we've come to see Him. And if God can sit in the center of a bush and be on fire and never burn the bush now that's awsome.

As for His personal name....I've studied, done research, and tried to discover His personal name for over 40 years. I've read Hebrew, Greek, Latan, Arabic, and all of the ancient languages and the nearest thing I could ever come up with was....."IAM."

There is a scientific term of what I'm trying to say is, using Achems Razar----meaning the simplist solution is probably the right one.----

Another word for reaching God's personal name is, "ELOHEM." It's an ancient word meaning more then one. It very well could stand for Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Stop right there....you're thinking, "There he goes on a Trinity trip." I never meant it, yet you thought it. Well..I would think it. Trinity only means 3 in ancient latan. And if you really want to be confused..or not...you can only go back to ISAIAH 55:8,9.

No one really knows the true nature if God. Only the parts of God, God needs for you to understand Him. God doesn't want all of us to know Him fully, because He knows that we can't. God only wants us to Love Him half as much as He loves us.

Anyway that's how I see and understand God. One more thought on my opinion of the nature of God.......Why does God....the Father always remain invisible? Simple......

If the universe saw the true nature of God, the universe would vaporize in an instant. As the scripture teach it...."God is a firy force of pure energy." So if a single angel can destroy an entire army within minutes can you imagine or even fantasize the power of God?

It is NOT The Watchtower Society anymore?!?

i don't know if this has been posted recently but... .

i was just talking to a friend (a ms jw) that told me that he was told by the elders on a talk he was about to give that according to their last elders school there are instructions not to use the terms "the watchtower society" or "the society" or "the organization" anymore... but rather to now always use "the faithful and discreet slave" or "the slave"... .

AS you may recall a few years back as the Society was being called a child molster's paradise, the Society cleaned house.

Not that it should be, but it was beginning to clean house to protect itself against judgements on those issues on molisters. Now remember, even the President back then and all high poisitions had to resign in orser to rearriange and seperate itself from the watcher, Bethel, and Governing Body.

Today, as I understand it, The Governing Body is just a group of attorneys to protect itself from the rest of the Witnesses, if more charges were brought up on an individual was accused of molesting, the Watchtower Society, couldn't be acused of harboring them. That's the way I understand it.

i tried it, could not swallow all the lies and misinformation they had.

i am sorry, but even if you deny the whole witness faith, there is still parts to christianity that they pointed out that you can not just ignore and act like it is okay to join another faith that is christian.

are you going to become catholic when your know their history?

Hi Free2beme.......read your comments on this thread. You know..you're right. After leaving I thought and felt the same. I mean I was never a full baptized jw, but after being among them from 1973 to 1996, it is hard to believe any christian church is right. But then again, I thought, does it have to be right all the time? Better yet, who has the truth? No man or woman has the truth, but Christ does. Example......

"Jesus said to them, 'I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through Me."(John 14:6) Think about it. The Watchtower says that the only way to the Father,Jehovah, is through the watchtower. Yet Jesus said it's through Him. So who has the TRUTH? Jesus said it was in Him. Jesus said Life was in Him. Watchtower says it's through the watchtower.

Ever wonder why when you begin studying with the jehovah witnesses they have a detail study of christianism? Remember the, "Truth Book?" On chapter 2, it's called, "Why Is It Wise To Examine Your Religion?"

It's a word for word detailed study of deliberate systemically destruction of many religions. That includes all of christianity. It puts one in a very vulnerable poisition. Then they read a few scriptures to make you feel safe.

Then they point out a few things that may sound kind of contradictory. Then they read you more info on the life of a jehovah witness and how the watchtower helps you out with understandings on how to read the scriptures. And once they have you agreeing with the watchtower, the watchtower has you hooked. Yet they never really have you study why of the watchtower, but have you study how you become a jehovah witness and what the watchtower has to say. Later on I always wondered why they have you study more on the watchtower then of Jesus.

Then you leave the watchtower after years of study of the watchtower and jehovah. And in your mind it was pounded that if you leave the watchtower you leave jehovah...but do you really? Watchtower states that the only way you can understand jehovah is to stay with the watchtower. Yet you really never intend to leave jehovah, but your desire is to leave the watchtower.

All through the new Testament..or the Greek Scriptures it keeps telling you to keep the faith no matter what. Back then they had churches name after towns..like the Corinth church..which we do read Corinthians. We know where that church was. Corinth was a town where a group of christians were. No religion, just name. It was where a group of people who had the same faith.

The word,'religion,' means an institution where one has a belief in a high power. Yet ,"faith," means to rely on someone or something. Jesus said to have faith in Him.

Christianity,....a monotheistic system of beliefs and practices based on the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus as embodied in the New Testament and emphasizing the role of Jesus as savior. So why do we need to have faith in an institution when Jesus asked us to have faith in Him? Christians, which Paul dubbed us as following Christ not some religion.

No religious church is perfect, yet we strive to be like Christ..a follow Jesus...christians. To tell the world we are christians. Just one more thought on the word, christian.......

As of some time in the 1990s Mormons began to call themselves christians. And you know why? The same reason the jehovah witnesses call themselves christians, to let the world know they are christians. Who's right? At the same time we are called americans....but then again there are Italian/americans, Black/ americans, Irish/americans, so forth and so on. "It can get quite confusing, but Jehovah and the Christ knows for sure. Isn't it true that Jehovah should know?

I read the report...I read the link(s) after the link(s) after the link(s)....I'm telling you...I'll make it simple.....

A 15th century catholic Monk put J in for jehovah and it was established. Since the watchtower hates the Vatican with a passion why in the world does the Watchtower insist that Jehovah is the name?

As for the NT( greek Scriptures) theos replaces from Hebrew to Greek. It get's the watchtower so excited when scholars disagree with the watchtower.

In the green new world translation of the Holy SCriptures 1970 Revised translation; on page 1455 according to Isaiah 1:24 ha-A-don or A.don is the true God, yet it is refereing to the Christ in MALACHI 3:1......

And to top it off no where in the greek scriptures does the word, "jehovah," come up.

It's the watchtower fantasy dream that man took the name out of the greek scriptures.

The watchtower does not back up it's bible---that is if it's a bible....the watchtower gets the poor JW to defend it and they can't.

Every Bible...and every translation that was put in print is supported by the publisher and all of it's scholar. Not the watchtower.

If the watchtower's new world bible translation committee is so accurate, why can't they defend it? There story won't hold water when they say they don't need these translators don't want to be reconized, because of their so called unworthiness. That's bull.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but to according to their own desires, because they have itching ears they will heap up for themselves teachers and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned asise to fables."(2 TIM 4:3-4)

A religious movie? How about, "Moses Law," with Burt Lancaster? It opened about the same time, "The 10 Commandments," came out.

Moses Law, was basically the same as the Ten Commandments and Burt Lancaster as Moses followed the Bible more accuratly, then, "The 10 Commandments."

the only chronology in the bible tying anything to 1914, according to jehovah's witnesses, is found in daniel 4.. 1914how is it arrived at?.

assumption #1: luke 21:24 is referring to nebuchadnezzars dream as related in daniel 4, and that indicates a future fulfillment of daniel 4.. assumption #2: the second fulfillment of nebuchadnezzars dream relates to something entirely different than the initial fulfillment.. assumption #3: the seven times of daniel 4 means seven years.. assumption #4: the seven years dont mean seven years, they mean seven years of years, where each day of each year equals one year.. assumption #5: the seven years of years dont mean seven years of years, they mean seven years of prophetic years, where each day equals 360 days.. assumption #6: jerusalem was destroyed in 607 b.c.e.. assumption #7: we should add (7 times x 360 years of 365 (or 366) days each) 2,520 years to 607 b.c.e.

Does Jehovah exist without Jesus?

after years of being a jw, im now on the outside and i question everything.

one thing i cant deny though is that jehovah is god.

my doubt now is, was jesus just tagged on as a reason to create christianity.

I'll try to make this simple.In greek the word theos means God, as in reference to John 1:1....it was John who referenced the theos as Jesus.

As for the word Jehovah, it came from a 15th century monk and a catholic monk. Since the Watchtower denies the catholic church as truth, how can they use Jehovah as reference to God when they denie the Vatican? They can't, because the phrase, "You can't have your cake and eat it too." Nor can they, watchtower, say they can pick and choose what they want and reject other information.

AS in Exodus 3:14 the "IAM' God told Moses....not God the Father, but just plainly God. As in reference to John 8:58..where Christ said.."IAM." Again Christ never said He was God the Father nor God the Son....but it meant...GOD.

"The jews answered Him saying, 'For a good work we do not stone you, but for blasphemy, and because You being a man make yourself God."(John 10:33)

Look at it from a jew's point of view. Jesus was making Himself as God...Yet Jesus never rebuked their statement.

Yet all thoughout scripture no one has never seen the Father..yet Adam saw God.....Moses saw a part of God....Jacob said That he saw God...I believe that they saw the Son of God. And Jesus aolways said no man has ever seen the Father, but Him.

From the very beginning of the Bible..the first two verses idenifies the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Born-again-christian can testify the Father, son, and Holy Spirit.....Baptists can testify this also....So can the catholic church....most of the christian churches can testify to these things. Why? FAITH in knowing...

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."(HEB11:1)

"one Lord, one faith, one baptism."(Eph 4:5)

"For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'the just shall live by faith,' God's wrath on unrighteousness." (Romans 1:17)

"to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me."(Acts 26:18)

Ok,,it wasn't that simple. but the example is having Faith in what we see and teach. And by faith alone we walk among the world...................
