They are totally adorable!! If I weren't undercover, I would post a picture of my son. I can say with no bias whatsoever that he is the cutest kid ever in the history of the world.

probe into jehovah's witness's death after crash.
a jehovah's witness who suffered internal injuries in a motorbike crash died after refusing a blood transfusion.
jonathan everett, 22, told staff at bury general that he would not take any blood products before undergoing an emergency operation.
Adopting and being a foster parent are two very different things. Foster parents don't usually have legal rights over the child, and also, don't normally keep them until they reach adulthood.
However, knowing what I know about the foster care system in the US, I would definitely NOT exclude dubs, or anyone else who is willing to give a child sanctuary. Many of these children are taken from homes where they were beaten, raped, and many other horrible things. Since a foster parent would not be able to forbid a blood transfusion, it would not be an issue. As was pointed out, this individual was not a "child". And while I think the WTS is bloodguilty over this stupid rule, as pointed out already, there are many religions that forbid various forms of medical treatment, and it's not logical to try to exclude them all.
It's better for a child to have a home where they are fed and cared for than to continue to suffer the way many of them do.

just wondering how many people here feel that the seat belt law is mandatory for safe motoring.
i can't stand this law myself as if you only forget to put one on the police are happy to pull you over and detain you and write you a ticket.
this is one of those things that i think if there were a public vote over, it would not exist .
When the law first came out, it irritated me, too, but now it's just a habit. I don't mind, and I think it is safer. One thing I hate is when I see children who are not in car seats or seatbelts. I cannot imagine not belting in my son! I think those people should lose their driving privileges immediately for at least 6 months.

i was reading in the religion page of the newspaper today that the mormons are enjoying romance novels in which descriptions of the characters' sex lives are limited to little more the first kiss--- that could happen after they are engaged to be married........any ideas of what a jw romance novel might be like?
Kissing in the KH parking lot??? Trouble is a'brewin' for sure.
Tres, I'm so happy you started up again, I can't wait to see what happens next.

you ever have one of those things that happen to you that just leaves you speechless.
well the other day one of my best friends (someone i have known for years) told me that they might have cancer.
they have a tumor in their leg that just changed size as well as a small lump in their arm.
Spice,
I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Stay positive, there's just no need to be negative. Show as much love as you can as often as you can. It's ironic, when something like this happens you start to think about using your time wisely, showing love to family and friends, and all because of a possible disease. The truth is, we could lose anyone at anytime due to accident, or sudden traumatic illness (like an anuerysm).
Be good to your friend and yourself, and best wishes.

i can't remember, it's been too long...
I got lots of hot steamy kisses last night ...........................
But my sweetest kiss was this morning when I dropped my son off at daycare

i know many people who don't like cops and even give them all kinds of names.
some may be nice, but many think they are superior to the ordinary citizen.
i see so many doing radar on bottom of hills where automatically you will go over the speed limit.
My dealings with them have always been ok, but I also am irritated at the "speed traps". I always wonder isn't there some crime that needs solving while the officers are there waiting for someone to speed past them. Overall, I guess I have been lucky, the officers I dealt with personally were always polite and outright nice (even when writing my lead foot a speeding ticket).

i'm really concerned about a close friend of mine.
she and her husband stopped going to the meeting about 10 years ago (that's not why i'm concerned) but remained pretty low-keyed up until about the last year.
we've obviously talked at great length about the religion and how it screwed us royally and have even had some laughs over it (i've shown her some of my posting here and she's roared with laughter).. a few years ago, she got a tatoo because she always wanted one and of course couldn't while she was a dub.
The worst thing anyone could do is badger her about this. She will quit when and if she chooses. However, her son has every right to insist that she not smoke if his children are around (which I would do). While it's ok to let her know you don't like it, and it's bad for her, let it go at saying it just once.
Good luck!

you know, in the year and a half ive been here i have certainly noticed that personal conflict flourishes among the apostate/ ex dub major players (and not so major players.
) consider the irrepairable conflict between our simon and herr steinhaug and his band of norwegian major players.
consider the relatively recent bill bowen war on this board.
I am not ready to "follow" anyone's lead in many matters, certainly not in accepting that I should feel I should try to bring down the WTS. I also don't believe in a lot of other religions, and their former members are sometimes just as vehemently opposed as some exjws. The point I am wandering towards is, sometimes you have to let it go. I think that those who have a legal or moral case against them should pursue it by all means. Those who committed crimes such as molestation, stealing, etc, should be punished to the full extent of the law. If I were a victim, I would do everything I could to see the individuals who committed the crimes brought to justice. But to say that I have to participate in bringing down the entire religion goes way beyond what I feel is needed. I hate it, but that's my feeling, and there are many people within who love it, who are happy with it, and that's their feeling. I have said I wish my family (who are still in) would see the light, but that presumes they would reach the same conclusions that I did, and really, there is no guarantee of that. It's just something I would like to see.
Just my opinion, and since I left the Borg, I am free to have one. So is everyone else.
