I have a question for everyone. Anytime I accidently slip and say to a JW "You know how you're not allowed to......" they always jumo down my throat with "it's not that I'm not allowed, I just don't want to." Has anybody else noticed that many JW's seem to think they are allowed to do certain things, but they know that they're really not?

Don't you realise that if you understand the "deeper things of the Bible" it will all make sense. Everyone knows it doesn't really have to mention it in the Bible, the WT can interpret it. (But you have to realise that only they can do it, no one else, mm-hmm) haha, they crack me up.

You make some excellent points, and you're argument should (in theory, although these are programmed dubs remember) defeat any counter-argument. I'll be sure to bring these issues up next time I get the chance.

Just get them to admit that the WT society has made errors in their predictions etc. Then say, Well then what does that do to ones faith in an organization that claims they are spirit directed and they make errors? That one worked for me. It shut the elder right up.
I haven't had much success with that tactic because, (and I know some of you will find this hard to believe, but I swear it's true) they would use the old "new light" excuse. (which is really getting old, btw) Anyway I can never seem to get anyone to admit that all the lies and erroneous predictions don't bode well for the WT. Ah, well, what can ya do?
I am also curious FRUSTR8TD. What do you mean he would have to work through the Catholic Church? It wasn't Catholics that wrote the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts.

Last week I explained to a JW about how profitable the magazines are and how the donation arrangement makes the Society even more money.
Everyone says that the WTBTS is making a lot of money, and I know they're a billion dollar (b)org. but I don't understand where they get all this money, aside from donations. Don't they give out the mags. free? Anyone wanna explain?

Ahh, how true. And they contradict themselves once again.
It is not religious persecution for an informed person to expose publicly a certain religion as being false, thus allowing persons to see the difference between false religion and true religion.Yet if a non-witness *persecutes* a witness by trying to show the faultiness of the WT, we are being led by Satan the Devil, and doing his evil work. It's funny, really.
