  i recently "applied" for an account at jehovah's witnesses on the web, that msn group.

  but of course they have a bunch of questions so that they are not troubled by evil apostates.

  i have no intention of causing trouble, but i would like to lurk around, just to keep up to date.

  Getting the ball rolling with dubs in FS

  hope everyone's weekend is going well so far.

  anyway, i just had two brothers show up at my door, and i was planning to bring up an issue they couldn't solve and befuddle and confuse them.

  but, wouldn't ya know it, i couldn't just blurt out, "how do you explain the 1914 teaching?

  How to get around "prophet" issue...?

  i was wondering if anyone has a soloution to this little problem: as we all know, the wt claims to be the faithful and discreet slave, jehovah's spirit directed channel, blah blah blah, but i don't think they ever actually said the word prophet in relation to themselves.

  if they have, i've yet to find the quote.

  does anyone know how to get around this problem when a thoroughly brainwashed sheep uses the defense that "the wt never said they were a prophet so that argument is not valid"?

  whether it was while you were still in the borg or after you left.

  Best argument against a Jehovah's Witness?

  don't get me wrong, i'm not one to actively persecute jw's, i'm just wondering what you guys think is the best agrument/point to use when a pesky brother or sister just won't leave you alone.

  normally, i am willing to listen to their drivel out of respect (even though i have no respect for the wt) but there are times when i am not in the mood to hear them babble.

  i normally bring up the 1914 generation point, and it normally works.

  Blood issue

  maybe someone can offer an answer to a question i have, that no witness as of yet has been able to answer me satisfactorily.

  how can jw's even think about denying their baby or child a blood transfusion in a life or death situation?

  i would think that when elder pious says, "you know brothers, sisters, jehovah god does not want us to take blood, even in seemingly deadly situations.
