When I hear that phrase I get a put down feeling, sort of like they are being elitist, not that they are aware of what they are doing given they are under the influence of the wt and have been indoctrinated by cult practices.

by minimus inwhen a witness talks about a person not being "in the truth", does that get to you?
or if they self-righteously proclaim that "at least, they're in the truth and not worldly", does that push any buttons?

New to board-1st post
by kril inmy last attempts at posting were to no avail so i'm just going to test this out first and they edit and post something else.-it worked.. i have been reading a lot of the material on this website and find most of it interesting.
i'm still a witness but have some questions about bible/doctrine that haven't been answered to my satisfaction.
it seems that when i discuss things with people (i.e witness elders) they more or less don't listen to my arguements.

there are many persons here that have had some sort contact with the wt, ex-jw's, current active/inactive jw's and those with family and/or friends that are or have been jw's.
To leave or not to leave, now that is the big question, you will eventually arrive at your answer, many of us know how hard it is to answer and many of us have arrived at different conclusions. It's what right for you.
The final straw for me was the realisation that the wt is a cult and uses cult techniques on members so they remain loyal. It was a hard conclusion to arrive at as I had to admit to myself that I allowed myself to be 'sucked in'. But after chatting to others that had been through the same or similar things I felt better, and from then on I have been on an incredible journey free of guilt and the freedom to choose for myself.

Will There Be A Final Issue?

I don't know if there will be a final issue. Just look at the catholic church history, they are still going strong. Thw wt monetary value will most likely increase, as it does the leaders may become more greedy. There is a phrase " power breeds corruption".

I today have experienced being personally attacked for trying to debate a point of 'generalities' it was not pleasent. I was shocked, I do not know people here very well at all and am trying to get to know them better and understand what they have been through and assist if I can, in turn I hope to receive assistance and understanding as well.
I come here to discuss and debate many issues, not just those associated with the wt cult.
