A mandatory re-enactment of bathseeba bathing herself will be held at the next Theocratic Ministry School. All sisters will need to un-dress appropriately. Please dont wear gaudy jewerely as this will detract from the meeting.

What did you actually enjoy about JW meetings?
by Pinned Blouse in.
as much as i dreaded going to all the meetings there were things that i did enjoy.. 1. no special parking spaces for the elders, etc.. 2. no collections plate going around the room.
3. no one person giving the talk every single week (can you imagine the same speaker 3 to 4 times a week, every day?

Numbers both literal and symbolic (April 1st Watchtower)
by ozziepost ini wonder how many readers of the watchtower have noticed the seeming inconsistency of the 144,000 teaching in the april 1st issue?.
after discussing the symbolic nature of the numbers 666 on the wild beast comes this statement:.
"immediately after disclosing the number 666, revelation mentions 144,000 followers of the lamb, jesus christ, who have his name and the name of his father, jehovah, written on their foreheads.".

This really get's my goat
by JV inwould you treat somebody better if they drove a mercedes as opposed to a person who drives a ford pinto, you don't have to be mr. spock to figure out that's not logical, so why would you treat somebody differently if they get in 20 hours per month as opposed to 2 hours a month, this goes on all the time in dub land, this is the major thing that " stumbles" me, (my favorite dub word, that'll i'll vent about in a future post).
the dubs do this all the time and it really pisses me off, they claim that their not a judgemental group but we all know better.
how can you judge somebodys worth on a slip of paper marking how many hours they go knocking on doors, that's just wrong.

You could be an awesome witness with all kinds of door to door skills and yet if you only went out 5 hours a month you would never be asked to do a demo for the service meeting. But you could be Johnny Droll. Son of Brother Ever so Droll and you aux pioneer but you are terrible at the doors....yet you get asked to do demo's every week.

There's a really good article in the magazine...
by Nosferatu inwhat always blew my mind was that whenever an article in the watchtower, awake, or any wt publication is when someone refers to a part of the publication and says, "there's a really good article in here about bla bla bla".
i've heard many jws use it at the doors, use it at the kingdom hall, etc.
my question is, when is there ever a bad article?

I remember so many times thumbing thru the mags during the service meeting and then raising my hand and commenting on how nice the article on such and such was. I would find someshing toward the back of the magazine and near the end of the article to give the impression that I read the magazines in their entirety.
