  i've always wanted to ask this question to those that have decided to leave the organization.. what will you do when the great tribulation begins?.

  right now folks, a lot is happening in the political world.. gordon brown (prime miniter of england) last week gave a speech to the un stating that it is time for the un to step in and solve the world's problems, (specifically mentioning the economy and hunger crisis worldwide.).

  barrack obama is shaping up to be the next president, a fellow who sure knows how to persuade and lead great crowds.

  I'm jumping in a bit late, but I figured I'd give my answer to your original question...
  
  What will I do when the Great Tribulation begins?
  
  First of all, I was raised to believe that "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." "This Generation" refers to those who saw the events of 1914. Most, if not all of them are dead, so either the Great Tribulation has already come and gone, or it's all a load of rubbish.
  
  If it has already come and gone, then we must already be living in Paradise Erf. But if it's a load of rubbish, then either Jesus or the Watchtower is a load of rubbish - quite possibly both.

  CONFIRMED Book Study amalgamated with the TMS and SM

  old timers on the board may remember that i was the first to mention the november 06 blood insert in the km.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/121104/1.ashx.

  the same very, very reliable source has confirmed that the book study will be amalgamated with the tms and sm.. this same source recently had a long and private conversation with a gb member.

  The burden will still remain on JWs. They still have to prepare for the service meeting and the BS, but now they will likely put it off until the night before. Wednesdays are going to suck for the average JW - preparing for two meetings. Also, they need to put some extra weight into their bookbags for the Thurs meeting.
  
  The average JW will get an extra 2 hours a week. I could see them eventually moving this mega-meeting to a Wednesday. JWs have four days in a row to do whatever they want, and they will get lazy. Too much freedom = not wanting to attend meetings.
  
  But they could never eliminate the book study entirely. That's how the WTS sells new books. Worldly people don't want that trash, but the 6 million JWs will gladly take them and pay for them.
  
  I'm wondering how much more the WTS can cut, cram, and penny pinch?

  Meeting schedule rearranged...WHY?

  official speculation thread.... even if a reason is given for the meeting rearrangement when it is announced on 4/27, we all know how the society spins things (e.g., awake magazine being reduced to one issue per month to "put more emphasis on the bible" real reason.. .

  so why is the society doing this?

  on the surface, it seems to be a loosening of control.

  The WTS realized that Armageddon REALLY isn't coming at all and all religion will never be banned, so they decided keeping the BS meetings in individual homes was pointless.
  
  This may just wake up a few JWs. "Where will they go" to meet when all religion is banned?

  That makes the Thurs meeting longer. As I recall, the meeting was 1:45. Now it will be 2:15? Blech.
  
  I don't know what's worse, more long meetings, or shorter meetings broken up during the week.

  how is it that we get so much insider info all the time and i get my meeting announcements here before i get them at the meeting?

  for example i saw the bethel brochure one week before they had it at my meeting and it must've been an elder who scanned since they were the only ones who had one.. .

  do we have active bethelites and elders here?

  It's a new tract or some stupid thing. I've been away for a bit, but I got a sniff of the air here. There's some big things happening in the org to get the zombies moving a bit more. The tract is just the org poking them with a stick.

  You guys seem to forget that JWs recieve new light when they're studying their magazines at home. By then they've already absorbed it, gotten pissed off that they believed the old bullshit for years, swallow the new shit and say "*GULP* eewwwaah. The light is getting brighter *gurgle* *gurgle* **BURP**"
  
  Once they get to the meetings, the new FOOD is already mostly digested.
