  the bbc are re-showing the excellent "power of nightmares" series of 3 programmes.

  bbc2 23:20 on tue 18 to thu 20 of jan.. if anyone missed it first time round i would highly recommend it - you will sit in disbelief that people have got away with what they have and how manipulated the masses are.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4171213.stm.

  Yeah, but Real Alt doesn't seem to do embedded Real video - at least not in Firefox.
  
  I downloaded episode one back when it was first on in three parts and played it on Real Alt, but goodness knows what site it was.

  The violence commited by both sides is very obviously real, but (on both sides) the danger is out of proportion. The neo-cons (*not* conservatives or ordinary right-wingers) need to Islamic bogeyman and the Islamic nutters need their "Great Satan" bogeyman. Both are absolute lies to keep the citizens safe/moral = keep them in line with *their* teachings.

  I've never said "Good afternoon, Jehovah", it never occurred to me to speak to Jehovah like he was an actual person who loved me! I think it's a lovely way of praying though, if someone prayed like that they'd feel *close* to God and Jesus... obviously which is something that would be a threat to the WT!

  whatever happened to to good-ol-days when you had to pay attention to where you threw your lawn darts so that you wouldn't kill anyone?.

  when i was in first grade my family had a set of lawn darts... not the plastic kind... the kind with the heavy steel spike prodruding from the tip.

  i loved to go outside and play with them.

  I had (and still have in storage) loads of Fisher-Price Play Family People. *Exactly* the right size and shape to be choked on!
  
  I had a BMX bike with dodgy handlebars (used to jam sideways!) and no brakes. I didn't wear a helmet, but I really ought to have - when I was 12 my friend was hit by a (not even speeding) car while *walking astride* her bike and died instantly.
  
  When I was four or five I also made my mum rush out and buy me a Flutterby My Little Pony because I'd read in the paper that kids had inhaled the whispy and very loose tail-hair and ended up in hospital, and I was scared they would be withdrawn! I didn't want to miss out!

  i use mirc to download music.

  i just changed computer and re installed mirc, and now it costs 20$ for a year.

  not expensive, but it was free before.. where do you go to download music on the net?

  When I was about ten I was really scared of having my TB vaccination because all the older kids told us how much it *hurt like your arm was going to drop off* and described gunk coming out of it in minute detail.
  
  I was reassured that the New System would probably be here by then! :)

  Tuesdays and Thursdays

  for the longest time i used to hate tuesdays and thursdays.

  those were the nights of the bookstudy and the theocratic ministry/service meeting.

  every time when i was at school or work on these days, it seemed i was never in a good mood.

  Tuesdays and Thursdays still feel "different" for me, like not a night to crash in front of the TV after dinner - because if the old days we'd have one eye on "Blossom" while putting on shoes and packing book bags and had to be out of the door before the end.
  
  If for some reason we didn't attend, we weren't allowed to have the TV on until we would have been back, and we weren't allowed to set the video for TV on when we were out!
  
  Not having the TV on on Tuesday and Thursday nights lasted for ages after Mum stopped going to meetings (she's still well and truly in though :( )
  
  /currently watching "Eastenders" with Mum, hehe.

  Driver in grisly suicide over lost JW wife

  this is a sad story.

  a jw woman dies and her obituary is below.

  a few months later her distraught husband commits a grisly suicide.

  The medical expenses were mentioned in the obituary, they were for the wife's illness. It's disgraceful that there are people (especially in a wealthy nation like America) don't get universal free healthcare.

  Family of four murdered. Possible religious implications.

  a family of four was found in their nj home with their throats cut.

  the family made up of the man and wife included two young daughters.

  there are strong implications that this family was murdered over fanatical religious "disagrements" with an individual/individuals that the father had been comunicating with on an internet chat room.

  It's absolutely awful what happened to the family - it's horrific to imagine the home being invaded like that. Apparently the elder of the girls (the kids were eight and fifteen) was singled out for even more brutal killing because of a Coptic sign (a cross?) on her wrist.
  
  
  There's trouble between Coptic Christians and Muslims in Egypt where the family was originally from.
  
  
  It screams "hate crime" to me, but how many murders *aren't* hate crimes?

  I would take regular blood and I would this, but I wouldn't take that cow blood one. The idea is icky - I don't eat meat because the *idea* grosses me out. As a last resort when I'm unconscious I can see me caring either way though.
