as you associate with jehovah's organization, you will find the atmosphere very different from that of temples and churches.

There's certainly discrimination by your family against you if you are reproved or disfellowshipped, and you are most certainly treated 'coldly' and discriminated against at social settings (ie, by not being invited) if you are considered weak, have a reputation, or have expressed doubts about some beliefs. And JW's are the worst at gossiping about each other. I think one winter pioneering that's all we did was sit in the car trying to keep dry and warm, and moan about all the lazy sisters who couldn't be bothered joining us in FS in the week....
did nothing wrong.. a lot of questions of late regarding the un scandal.. here's my question ................ since the watchtower feels (yeah right) it did nothing wrong and was simply using thew un libraries, why did they disassociate themselves from the un ???.
come on jw's they did nothing wrong !!!!.
but by disassociating themselves they look guilty as can be.. did they cave in to public pressure ???.
The official response from the society was that they disassociated from the UN because it became 'apparent' to them that the criteria for being an NGO had since changed since they first joined in 1992, and that that new criteria was incompatible with their beliefs. This has of course been proven to be untrue.
It's apparent they really withdrew because of having been publicly exposed for their hypocrisy, and were subsequently bombarded with 1000's of queries by disturbed JW's, and they were worried at maintaining the status quo and minimising any further bad publicity.

it seems they are trying hard to get the average dub to link the two.
It's ironic that the Society get so specific about condemning internet pornography, which in itself is absolutely correct of course, but maintain that their policy on dealing with child molestation accusations is correct and supported by God's word, considering that the internet is a favourite haunt of paedophiles and a majority of paedophiles are addicted to pornography.
greetings - can anyone confirm for me whether these articles were officially submitted by the watchtower society to the un (to keep up their ngo membership), or did the un just use these articles and post them on their website without the society necessarily having officially submitted them?
i guess the wts had to have given their consent somehow, as a minimum.
what are the mechanics of proving one is upholding un ideals to renew their library card membership?

That's what a judge in a Court of law would ask for, ie, copies of the actual documents in question. Even comments from UN officials themselves might be wrong...you know what it's like with these big beauracratic organisations....half the time the left hand don't know what the right's doing.
I want to see with my own eyes if the application forms have changed or not. I'm not prepared to just accept someone's word that the forms didn't change when the Society say they have changed. Their intentions in trying to make the WTS look bad could be just as baisedv as the Society's is in trying to cover it up.
This is a biggie for me....does anyone wanna help me prove to myself the Org is blatantly lying over this...please.

Yea, that's an interesting article on escape the Watchtower Hamas (although is nothing more than soft higher criticism...you can attack any book of the bible using the kinds of reasonings the author of that article states), but even without the book of revelation, if you have faith in God and Jesus, and believe his word to be inspired and reliable (which I don't think you do anymore frankly - so you are hence without foundation and are now tossed hither and thither by every trickery of teaching), one cannot escape the fact that sooner or later God is going to intervene again in man's affairs to remove the rotten elements in this sytem. As a god of love and justice he is not going to forever sit in the heavens like some 'laid back kinda guy' and just let the wicked run around and oppress and kill the meek and innocent. If you believe that God is forever going to tolerate wickedness on earth then you have so lost the concept of who God is that you surely are totally confused. The bible's message is clear from Genesis to Revelation (spurious inserts in it or not) that paradise and everlasting life was what we had and lost, and that God will restore that purpose. There are many many scriptures littered throughout the bible that one can use to see clearly that God will one day take action on this planet to make things better again...it's not wishful thinking but what Jesus himself taught, ie, that he will return and will one day be a glorious king to rule from heaven. Have you so lost faith in the words of Christ that you now doubt that he will return Hamas?, or are you content to wallow in the muddy mire of higher criticism of his words too. Then were does that leave you Hamas. No better off than an athiest or agnostic. In fact agnostic now appears to be what you now are by your own admission: " But then I realised : Who knows ? None of us really know the truth." Hamas...didn't Jesus say "you WILL no the truth...and the truth will set you free!

While I don't believe only JW's are ultimately to be saved, and I fully expect a God of love to preserve probably 100's of millions when he finally does act (thru his son), there is no denying that he will act one day. In our life-time or not, who knows, but he will act....

Hooberus' questions are excellent ones, to which no one has really provided a satisfying answer on this thread. I would like to physically sight the 1990 or 1992 application (as close as possible to the year the WTS completed theres), and then compare those to every application form since. Are copies of these avaiable? If the forms havn't changed, then that is conclusive proof that the Society have deliberately lied about this, or have assumed the forms changed without checking their facts, which would be misleading the flock (tantamount to lying).

If God's love is unconditional why did he wipe out all those in the flood save for 8 souls, and why did he wipe out all the sexual perverts in Sodom and Gomorrah?.
God's love isn't unconditional. The 'once saved always saved' born againers like to imagine so, but one can't just go doing what one wants and expect God to overlook Wilful disobedience and rebellion against him....he is also a God of justice after all, which quality is in perfect balance with his other cardinal qualitys of love, wisdom, and power.
