  Discussion with my parents about WTS

  after reading for a few months this is my first post here.

  i was raised a jehovah's witness by my parents who became jw's in the late '70s from field service.

  i'm still a jw but doing a lot of researching on the history of the wts.

  what happens when the news leaks out...

  i've split from my husband.

  he first da-ed himself, which shocked the nation of family and friends.

  and now, we've seperated.. note: i have, since the da-ing "incident", begun fading, but i live 1000s of miles from the nation of family and friends so they are clueless as to where i am at.. so now that people are hearing that we are seperated (although i have yet to tell any elder, so that in itself should be interesting) i've been getting the weirdest phone calls from wit friends i haven't heard from all year... and this morning, i received an email from an old brother in my parents hall back home.

  i am a teenage lad btw...

  i was shocked to read that witnesses teach that unless a woman doesn't shout out and make it clear they dont feel like being raped today, that they basically consented to it.

  The JWs are wrong to use those old laws.The scribes and pharisees interpreted the ten commandments in that day. When Jesus came he called them (scribes and Pharisees) snakes and vipers. Jesus talked against the laws of the Pharisees.Woe to you scribes and pharisees,hypocrites ye blind guides you have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgement,mercy,and faith. for ye make clean the outside of the cup and platter,but within they are full of extortion and excess.Outwardly you appear righteous unto men but within full of hypocrisy and iniquity.Jesus warned the disciples Beware of the leaven of the pharisees. Jesus said the Pharisees bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on mens shoulders.So why do the JWS follow the Pharisees . Yucca

  When was the last time a witness knocked at your door as a friend, not FS?

  although i've been bapized back in 1988, and never was disfellowshipped, the last time a jw came over here as a friend, was about 15 years ago.

  oh, and i'm not shunned..... the only witnesses who knocked on my door in the last 15 years, were elders, in "uniform" in the field service.. now, imagine if i was really shunned......

  I cant believe this some witnesses are here. My son in law who is a christian pastor took some print outs from silent lambs to give them. My daughter and I are xjws.They took the print outs and said we will let you be. Now we wonder if they will read them or throw away. My son-in-law does know know about JWS so we have educated him. He had no idea what they have been teaching til we told him.My son-in-law told them you teach Jesus is Michael an angel there is no power in that.So with Gods help the seeds have been planted and we pray they see the light and come out of that sick religion.

  i'm not a psychologist but a little logic tells you that somethings got to give.. i see too many witnesses who are falling into the "escalating commitment" trap.

  your life is a mess, so you find the "truth"!.

  next, you commit yourself further by dropping college.

  Is this Bible warning a valid one?

  at hebrews 10: 26,27 the bible warns those who would consider leaving christianity: "for if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgement and a fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

  " is the bible trustworthy in saying that those who leave christianity are certain to experience a dread of judgement by god?

  In the new world translation Isaiah44:24 says I Jehovah am doing everything.stretching out the heavens and the earth by my self,laying out the earth. john1:2 ,3 it says Jesus All things came into existence through jesus by means of jesus was life since it plainly saids Jesus is God you need a personal relationship with Jesus. So its Jesus you believe in and dont leave not the Jehovah witnesses version of christianty,

  if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?

  should we pray to jesus?

  i'm meeting with my dad tomorrow (prob for the last time) and i have been asking him different questions and one he has tried to answer is about praying to jesus, (as i brought up that at acts 7 stephen clearly did) id like to tell you what hes printed out for me as he wants a response tomorrow,.

  basiclly its all the same old :the scrips say jesus is the mediator we go to god through jesus (john-14:16, 1 tim-2:5,6).

  in answering why stephen said 'lord jesus recieve my spirit' the wt says that god had caused stephen to see a heavenly vision (acts-7:54-59) he beheld the heavens open and saw jesus standing at gods right hand' so seeing jesus in vision stephen felt free to direct his request to him as the head of the cong, .

  Isaiah 44"24 I,the Lord am the maker of all things,streching out the heavens by myself,and spreading out the earth all alone. clearly ,this verse makes it impossible to argue that christ was created first by jehovah and then jehovah created all other things thru christ, the fact that jehovah is the maker of all things who stretched out the heavons by myself and spread out the earth all alone and the accompanying fact that christ is the creator of all things john 1v 3 proves that christ is god almighty just as god as the father is. So you can pray to jesus . hope this helps
