I am the youngest of 6 children (the only on that is out)and between us we have 12 kids. The last I knew only one was still attending meetings. Two others were never baptized and see my parents once in a great while. Seven are DF'd or DA'd and my two were never baptized and want nothing to do with my family. Not much of a legacy for a family that has been Witnesses for 45 years. I am so grateful that I am close to my kids. Nothing they could ever do could make me reject them. I pity my parents, they have no relationship with any of their grandchildren. els

Do you find that you dislike random things because of being a witness?
by els inmy father in law has a house on block island that we (my husband and i, his brother and their dad) all have a say in.
we are putting tile in the entry area and my brother in law suggested multi colored slate.
i was immediately, vehemently against it but couldn't figure out why until i remembered that the kindom hall i grew up attending had slate floors in the lobby area.

This is the first year that I haven't gotten one from my family, either mailed to me or slipped in my door. It could have something to do with the letter I wrote them saying don't visit, don't call, don't leave me your literature. Sounds harsh but I was sick of them calling the shots. They would shun me for months, parents and all five siblings, then show up to chat and leave me crap. I decided they couldn't have it both ways. If they want to shun me they won't know anything about me or my children. This way is much better for my equilibrium. If they can ever accept and respect me as I am then I will gladly take them back, or at least the ones I like. els

by els indoes anyone know of software that would enable me to freeze frames of a dvd to print them as photographs?
i had a dvd done of my daughters wedding and i would like to print photos from it.
her photographer sucked and there are alot of shots that he missed.

Annalice, Sorry I took so long to get back to this, I had a busy weekend. So you are from the Saratoga region? Have you always lived there? I grew up in Granville, NY, near the VT border. I'm 45 and have been inactive for 20 years but have been shunned for only the last 3+ years. I don't really know my actual status with the congregation. I have told my whole family that I am out and I did have two men show up and told them I had no intention of ever going back but I never was asked to meet with anyone. I don't really care but it would be interesting to know what happened. I'm married, for almost 27 years with two kids. A son almost 22 and on his own and a daughter 25 who was married last fall.
