Spent time in both congs...my dad was an elder and gave talks there often. The names are familiar but it was so long ago for me. (Grew up in the White River Congo.)

Another J W e mail
by NikL ini noticed another thread on this site relaying a stupid e mail making the rounds of dubdom.. well i just got this one and i thought i would share.... powerful illustration.
after the prayer, the local elder slowly stood up, walked up to the.

What Made You Fall in Love With Your Husband/Wife/Lover ,Significant Other?
by flipper inhey all.
mr. flipper.
when in the witnesses, the fanciful thought is put forward that the main thing important in a marriage is the "threefold cord" having god in your marriage.

A friend and co-worker introduced my wife and I...of course she was his fiance at the time....Ooops.
She had been listening to my (very deep and sexy) voice over his Fire/Police Scanner and told him she wanted to put a face with my voice. I am a relatively funny guy (funny is relative) and so he brought her to meet me for a few laughs. She walked into my office with a dish of hot apple crisp and said, "I have heard all about you and I am not going to take any of your sh*t". It was love at first sight ! LOL
She was 5' 2", very blue eyes and very red hair (my weakness) and the rest of her wasn't bad either.
We met in October...she left him in December...moved in with me in January....and we got married the following October. He maxed her credit cards out before the wedding so she cost me about $15,000.00 up front and 17 years later I have lost count of the bill. LOL

Why do witnesses intentionally avoid having kids?
by NotaNess in1) don't want to deal with it at meetings is what i think would be on the top of the list.they see what others have to go through.. 2) i know a married couple jws, that are avoiding having kids, and i've heard of reasons from them like.... "don't want to raise them up in this system".
"time is too short".
"i'll wait until the next system of things".

"they were just skate boarding"
Just skate boarding ? As I posted last night...skate boarding cost each taxpayer in my community an additional $50,00 a year in taxes to repair and replace the damage caused. Now you may choose to pay $50.00 a year on your taxes for kids to destroy public property but the great majority of taxpayers in my city wanted to do no such thing. We DID invest in a skate park for kids to skate all they want...even asked them how to build it to meet their needs.
The tens of thousands of dollars that skateboarding cost my city did not include the damage to private businesses and property nor did it include the legal and medical expense of the several pedestrians that were knocked down buy the kids who were just skate boarding.
I understand kids wanting to have fun but if they are damaging property and injuring other people then it becomes a problem. Many cities try to help with the problem by building skate parks like we did and limiting where kids can skate...not to be mean or heartless but to protect the other citizens, protect property and to give the kids a place to express their sport and culture WITHOUT VIOLATING THE LAW.
These kids were not a poor group of sweet innocent kids just looking for a play to have fun, they knew they were violating the law and were ready to videotape the consequences. Some had already been arrested and some on the tape could be heard using extremely foul language and getting in the officers faces so close that you could see thei spit flying. This was a set up plain and simple and they accomplished what they wanted. They provoked some cop, just trying to do his job and go home, into losing his temper and putting himself into a position of being disciplined for his actions. Abuse of authority and brutality is never justified. Should the officer have reacted better? Probably, but I wasn't there and the tape doesn't show the whole story.
Communities have voted to limit where kids can skate board, if you don't like it get the law changed. Until then, obey the law and don't try to twist things by intentionally provoking an incident and then saying, "poor kids, they were just skate boarding".

There are certainly bad eggs in all parts of society....Cops and Skateboarders included.
I just didn't want this to be a one sided discussion...we all take at least some responsibility for our actions. The cop will pay the price for losing his cool and maybe the kids will learn that there are better ways to buck the system that don't involve an unpleasant encounter with the police.
