your organization has always been intently focused on "witnessing" and this includes going right up to strangers homes, knocking on their door attempting to engage them in a discussion of their beliefs.
you come prepared to point out the error of whatever faith they hold.
doctrines such as immortality of the soul, the trinity and eternal torment in hell you declare as false teachings and can back up your assertions with scriptures and skilled argument.
Since when has a JW responded with a fair and reasonable answer? A programmed one, yes! A fair and reasonably thought-out one, never!

on recent a thread a poster here discussed about having discovered his daughter was gay.
whilst reading this my 11 year old son was looking over my shoulder, and reading along with me, some of the discussion was quite adult but respectful .
so i began thinking what age would you discuss these things?

My children have always known that they can discuss literally anything with me and that I'll always be there to listen and, should they require/ask for it, give advice. So, whatever age they ask, I'll answer.

greetings, friends:.
i recently put up a thread entitled "when can i comment?
" new to the thought process of critical thinking, i have felt overwhelmed by the wealth of information now available to a mind opened up to society-banned material.
There you go. How to become an atheist in 8 easy steps or your money back!
Beat ya! Did it in 4!!

i just saw a short segment on fox about an incident this afternoon on the ny subway.
a jewish couple were getting on the train when a group of about 10 others were telling everyone in the car "merry christmas!
" the jewish couple replied "and happy haunikka to you!
For anyone to get involved these days is almost unheard of. Great stuff!
Trygon:
Its good to see Muslims doing good in the world to make up for the actions of their extermist counterparts.
I see you're having another sideswipe at Muslims. You don't mention any condemnation of the "Christian" mob who attacked the Jews - oh, but you're "Christian" aren't you!
As you mentioned on another thread, you ARE in real danger of becoming a Nazi. Iangreetings, friends:.

STEP 1: Full of doubts about the organisation I started to research on the internet. Found I'd been conned.
STEP 2: Exited with wifey and two boys. Continued research via Franz's and Jonsson's books. Joined JWD.
STEP 3: Joined an Ancient Bible History group to find out if the Bible was fact or fiction. Found out it was overwhelmingly fiction!
STEP 4: Became an atheist and read the works of Dawkins, Hitchens and Harris. Confirmed my suspicions were right.

right so it's time to buy christmas gifts and the like - which is great - i do love giving.
now i don't usually give to get back.....but some of my so called mates just seem to like taking and taking..... this one guy - i'm mates with his sister and we have gotten to know each other and i'd say we have become friends - when it was his birthday (my first invite) i got him a really unique quirky gift, then came christmas and i got him 2 gifts and added a fun aspect to it, his birthday rolled around again this year and i got him another nice gift.. me: i got a card for chrismtas and he went halvies on a cheap book with his sister for my birthday.
so this year i'm not getting him anything, his sister comes to me and asks if i'm getting anything for him, so i said no - he'll be getting a card from me, she looked a lil stunned.. i do feel a lil bad but i'm tired of always giving and giving and giving and giving - hell he even forgot about my christmas party this weekend.
((((((((Louise)))))))
I do feel a lil bad but I'm tired of always giving and giving and giving and giving - hell he even forgot about my christmas party this weekend. I kinda feel that I'm more of a friend to him than he is to me.
Some people, because of their kindness, are taken advantage of. You're one of them! Dig your heels in and be kind to everyone else. He may learn the lesson - or he may be too arrogant or stupid. The choice is his.
