Did AlanF ever get the one he bought off Ebay?
He paid a grip for that book.
since i resigned early last year, i did not know where my "pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock book" was.
this weekend i was cleaning out my trunk and i spotted it.
i thought i might share some quotes with you on this fine sunday.....page 35:"do not try to get the brothers to engage in the field service by exerting undue pressure on them.

heres my summary of the dc after recently having the veil lifted from my eyes re the wts
look for the alcohol talk.
NEVER mention the Internet, it brings a mental barrier crashing down that is so powerful you can literally see their eyes go dull.
Not only that, never mention directly anything that's not positively glowing about the WTS either. You're bound to get a look that could kill.
here is a classic example of why it is that cultic religions find it necessary to conceal their old publications from the scrutiny of the membership.
this example is from 7th day adventism, but i assure all readers it is a classic and well worth the reading.
still, it is necessary to lay out a little background to the speech i will be quoting from before proceeding.
Winston do you have to bring one of those bags to throw up in to get through meetings?
I know I would if I had to sit there and listen to that dribble every other day. I can barely hold it down now when I have to listen to my wife and dub relatives babble back and forth with that WT nonsense. They don't ask for my involvement in their diatribes anymore. I think I've mentioned a few things too many to them that got that old hamster running in it's cage and they just couldn't handle it, although i suspect they still have no idea how far I've gone.
I wish I had saved my library, I had an extensive collection of bound volumes dating back to 1960, but I tossed the whole works in a dumpster the day I DA'd.
I'm gonna have to go and take a look at some of those old bound volumes my wife and her relatives are still holding on too. My wife actually has a lot of the old original magazines dating back from before she started collecting the volumes.
I think one day that I'll show them the changes in that masthead myself one day and see what they say about it.

Thank you for sharing your notes from the days nonsense. Now I know where my SIL got that "we be the truth because of the transfiguration and John class" nonsense she was calling and babling about. I didn't go to the first day and by the sound of things, I'm glad I didn't.
I did go to the second day though and posted notes to that effect. I'm very interested in how your notes will compare to mine, as a fellow apostate who's biting his lip for as long as he can just as you are.
Does your wife or anyone in your family know you've gone as far wayward from the "trooth" as you have?
seems its been awhile since we had one of these questions go round so i figured with all the newbies lately we shuld get a new one going.
i get to do it cause well umm errr..... i've been here for over a year (and yes noone noticed *sniff* *sniff* but thats ok).
soooo without further ado on to the question at hand..... why do you post here?.
I too am one of those who's almost always surrounded by dubs and am i find myself constantly biting my lip. This place and the JW C and C board on Belief.net is threpeutic for me in that I get to vent when I want to, share an observation, and learn and practice different techniques of blowing JWs out the water whenever I do find myself involved in one of their narrow minded conversations.
I've learned enough about the JW borganization to throw out tidbits of information now and then in an effort to get my JW relatives to think for themselves for once in their lives. I think I've had some success with at least one of my bil although he still dodges any in depth analisys of JW history or doctrine with me.
just got back from the three-day convention.
some have posted notes here already.
this was my first convention as an apostate as i have just awoken to the wts a couple of weeks ago.
I couldn't resist leaning in to my wife and saying, "yes, except for poor people on islands who need their 2nd visit from the CO."I got a look for that.
Yeah...I got quite a couple of those "looks" when I questioned my wife about the WT glorifying of a young girl defying her parents going door to door also.
please list different ways the organization attempts to control their flock.
I'll never forget all of the sisters who would try to control everything that went on in my pathetic little life. Everything from what kind of movies I rented to what kind of art I hung on my walls. Not to mention how I dressed. They have a way of controlling you by the way they always want to makesuggestionsthier opinions known on how you can be moretheocraticlike them.
This really describes my life by proxie to a T when my wife was first baptised. Things I'd collected over the years, books, records, tapes, things bought for our kid, quietly disappearing never to be seen from again. Every thought, every decision being filtered through and most often superceded by a WT article or whatever happened to be the "opinion of the day" from the old sisters she was studying with. Oh, they always "meant well", while I was cast as Satan incarnate if I offered any resistance.

The new book “for the children” has the most abominable picture in the back of the book depicting Armageddon. Someone has a topic running here already. Even a few JW’s were surprised to see it in a kid’s book.
I think I know the picture you're talking about.
After going to the Saturday Assembly with my wife, I just happened to pick up and leaf through the book casually at home and was appalled at the graphic nature of some of their armageddon pics (pages 243) in the book. I was also quite irritated about the "leading" nature of the questions asked in the book but chalked that up to the usual WT trademark.
boy, this has just been my lucky week.
twice in one week i was the recipient of "active shunning" by former congregation members.. scene one-the local discount food place where all the blue collar folks (and a few smart upper crust ones) buy their food.
i'm busy grocery shopping and sister zealous comes marching down the other side of the aisle, dutifully studying the cans on said shelf.
She came into MY kitchen, sat at MY table and ignored me!!! I said "Hi" just to break the ice. She glared at me, got up and shouted to son and his mate that she would be waiting in the car and hurried to the door
Shocking behaivour.....
If that had happened to me the door knob would've definetely hit her is the a$$ on her way out.
Then she could go back and tell her PO that I was "prone to anger"
.
a mouse whispered in my ear today that the may km was around... sincerely,.
