  ELDER LEAVES WIFE....DEMANDS TO BE DF'D...

  a prominent elder in a local congregation came home to his wife and told her "i love you, but i'm not in love with you".

  then wrote a letter to the congregation elders asking to be disfellowshipped.

  There is an older elder (59-60) in my congregation that always ignores his pretty mid-forty's wife while paying attention to younger sisters.

  Funny how those old coots are always going for those younger sisters.........and getting them too.

  I know of one elder pushing 70 who married a woman 30 years his junior whose JW husband passed and she remarks to other sisters "privately" of how he always has his hands on her and how tiring it gets. Of course, she knows being a good JW woman in subjection, she has to give her husband his "due" but to hear her say it, she finds little pleasure in it.

  How do I know.....???

  Well, you guys know how JWs love to gossip.

  TODAYS TALKS WAS BORING AS HELL..........

  i actually went to the meeting this morning (okay, sumeone talked me into going)...........god it was boring.......something about jesus and the kingdom and frigging deuteronomy and hebrews and jeremiah-was-a-bullfrog...........and then they talked about old faithful: mathew 28:19 20 "go therefore and piss everyone off selling btochtower and asleep magazines to all the inhabitents of the earth.

  an' look: i am with you every frigging saturday morning till the government bans your sorry asses.

  i escaped after the first meeting and met the stares of several good christians wanting to know why i was leaving half way through......i told the asshole elder who followed me outside: " i've got my period!!

  After the meeting is over I'm still in the fetal position, in the dark, on the floor. The PO walks in, turns on the light, looks at me and says "what are you doing in here? We need this room for an elders' meeting in five minutes." Then he walked out.

  ....tongue in cheek......

  Well damnit sister what did you think.

  Taking care of WT business always comes before caring for the needs of any one member of the flock.......save a CO or DO.

  That was truly funny. Be assured that your sacrifice of putting yourself though that nonsense and reminding us all of the stupidity of it has not gone unnoticed. You'd think if they'd heard that for the 9847463393033877th time, that they would've got it by now. Repition for emphasis is one thing but daaaaannnnnnnnggggggg!!!!!!

  When was the last time anyone here went to a meeting?

  Last meeting I went to was the Saturday session of last years a$$embly in College Station. I say a$$ because I must've been one to think I'd be able to stand being there. Damn.....what a snorefest that was. Started taking notes just to keep awake. The time before that.....their so-called memorial sell-abration.

  Not sure if I'll be accompanying my wife to the "pass the wine and crusty bread" ceremony this year. She hasn't asked yet.

  Two types of elder?????

  its my experience after actually being an elder for a number of years that there are in fact...two types of elder.. type 1....genuine, actually cares about the people in the congregation and wasn't actually bothered too much if he became an elder or not.. type 2....very legalistic, cares more about organizational laws rather than people and lacks compassion and empathy.

  this type is more of a spiritual policeman.

  he wanted desperately to be an elder and now that he is, he loves the sense of power and prestige.. this has been my experience and if there are more type 2 elders on a body, the results can be disastrous.. what has been your experience???

  Anyways,most of these type 2 elders fit the profile of sociopaths.They seek prestige in the congregation because they are generally shallow individuals with low self-esteem.They've reached their pinnacle of power at home,can't reach it at work so they strive for it in the christian community where there is generally less resistance.

  Wow....I think you've just described the mindset of my used-to-be elder father in law to a T.
