This is based on a weekend vacation, but west of Tampa is awesome. Two places come to mind: Clearwater and St. Petersburg. St. Peterburg has a special feel to it. You have to visit to experience it. I would suggest visiting the family for a few days and spend your time driving around the outlying areas. Tampa felt a little too busy for me. Its nice to drive into on the weekend for a visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Who are those young JW SKINHEADS ?
by aligot ripounsous inat the latest circuit assembly, i noticed that quite a few young male jws (or at least attending youths), say sixteen upward and mostly mixed race, are skin headed.
apart from that, they are quite well dressed.
that way, elders won't reprove them for their long hair ... looks like an obvious defying message to a rigid organization.

I know quite a few young men in my old congregation that had severe receding hairlines by the time they were 20. It appeared to run in the family. So it was less embarassing to just shave their head than sport a receded hairline before they could drink.

UN NGO Association Document
by pronomono indoes anyone know where the un moved their statement about the watchtower ngo association?
it used to be that you could use the search function (see: http://search.un.org/search?q=watchtower+bible+tract+society+filetype%3apdf&btng=search+un+website&output=xml_no_dtd&client=un_website_en&proxystylesheet=un_website_en&oe=utf-8&ie=utf-8.
&adv=true&lr=lang_en&num=100&sort=score&submit2=search&ulang=en&entqrm=0&ud=1&exclude_apps=1&site= ) and find it in the results, but as of january, i can't find it anymore.

It's all here http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/united-nations-association.php under "Dubious Justification". I had forgotten about this letter. The whole article is a fun read.

Well, that sucks. I have the link to the official document in the UN Library and my own archives stored on my PC. It's odd that the document is still accessible via the link but not via the search function.
Phizzy, in my case, the U.N. wasn't responsive in verifying the document. I sent their DPI division an email asking for information or official documentation relating to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's previous NGO association and never received a reply in my inbox or junk mail. -

It's nice to be able to pull this from an official site instead of having to resort to JWFacts when showing this to active JWs.Any ideas? Are they only showing 10 years worth of documents?

This will probably be the first meeting I openly boycott. It's sickening. I was just thinking to myself last week how JWs are so much like Harold Camping. The difference is Camping decided to shut up after he was wrong for the third time.

I want to picket an assembly UK.
by quellycatface ini feel like going to picket an assembly this summer.how do i do this?does it still happen?
ideas most welcome.thanks.

You'd probably be better off striking up conversation with random JWs and passing out older copies of questionable Watchtowers and the JWFacts one page quick sheet.
Here's an idea. Set up a literature cart displaying all our apostate literature. Make it look reminiscent of the JW.Org carts.

Do you pray over your meals? If so why? If not, when did you stop and why?
by BU2B into answer my question, no i do not pray over meals anymore exept for when i am with other jws i do a 15 second head bow for appearances sake.
i just came to the realization god had nothing to do with whether i ate or not.
many believers are starving right now whilst many non-believers are eating like kings.. also why should god give me food while he lets little children in dprk concentration camps starve to death.

Sometimes when my wife spends a lot of time on an awesome dinner I still feel like I should thanksomeone like a prayer. But, the funny thing is it feels like i should say prayer to her. Seriously. I was laughing telling her the other day. I feel like praying to her and thanking her.
Comatose, my thoughts, exactly.
Currently, I pray for appearances only during my fade.

Funny experience last night...
by pronomono inmy story in brief..... after being a born-in, getting baptized at 15, and seeking to excel based on the approval of elders and my parents, i hit a bump in the road.
i moved to a new congregation, and was a little more than disheartened by the lack of love.
with all my responsibilities removed from the recent move and being told that i no longer qualified for responsibilities due to my declining activity, i sat down to do some long overdue research to appreciate our spiritual heritage.

Frazzled, it would be hard to do much else openly since his wife is very much in. I'm not trying to out myself just yet, but if and when I see him around outside the KH, I do plan to continue making a good faith effort to show him unconditional love. In the KH, it's a bit harder but a handshake and a warm smile doesn't seem out of place.
I'm mainly staying in now (besides family/friends) because I want to experience the international convention we are scheduled for in New Orleans. I've got a gut feeling that the content is going to continue to dumbfound us and provide great talking points with my wife. I need to be in somewhat good standing at that point if I have any hope of helping my wife and family. Plus that date is symbolic to me in that it will be my one year anniversary learning TTATT.
So I'm still walking the fine line between being the man I want to be and the man I'm expected to be.
