JW making music videos now?

i'm not sure if this is new since it is hard to keep up with the ever changing jw.

it is morphing so much.

i went to jw.org tv video for november and around 53 or 54 minutes into the broadcast the gb guy introduce a music video called "we won't forget you".

newbie to site looking for fellow DF's and DA's (or anyone else who has good conversation to offer)

i am new to the site.

i started perusing it this weekend and wish i had found it 10 years ago when i was on my way out.

anyways, long story short, was df'd for you guessed it...fornication or "loose conduct" even though i had been a pioneer with an elder father, grandfather and uncle and no previous issues.

Welcome. We're glad to have you with us. Like you, I wish I had found this sight years ago. Things would be a lot different if I had. Still I have a lot to be thankful for. My time as a JW wasn't all bad. Even though I technically am still one, I'm struggling to find a way out and am coming to terms with the conditional love of the friends.

Jonestown David Koresh at Waco and Heavens gate...any thoughts on death cults!

these three men led there flock to mass suicide.

i listened to the last recording of jim jones and it was chilling.

people cheered and clapped when he told them it was the end...one older black woman protests saying "the children have a right to live" but she is shouted down by the other members saying "if they take our kids they will grow up to be dummies.

If you have Netflix, watch "Jonestown: Paradise Lost". It was a really good docudrama on this, mostly a re-enactment, but had some original audio/video recordings. The sad thing is, his wife was totally against the koolaid, but ones the children were forced to drink the kool-aid, she was so distraught that she drank it herself because she couldn't live with herself anymore. It was amazing to see how far people would let themselves go to believe what they wanted, until I woke up and realized I was almost in the same situation with the JWs and blindly following men, although I never reached a life/death situation. The docudrama was very moving to me.

Also, "I Escaped A Cult" on FLDS and a few others was good too.

I haven't heard a thing about this at my hall. I've missed quite a few meetings but our COBE usually calls to let us know whats up. Guess we're finally moving on from being in the "in" crowd. Are they splitting this up across Saturday/Sunday like they did last year? With the first Saturday morning live and the following three a recorded replay?

sorry if this is old news.. just heard from someone whose meeting is on a tuesday evening; basically, 3 per publisher is to be levied to "replace" the kh insurance payment.

the money will be used for damage, vandalism, & disasters, but also to protect any of the societies' entities.. .

Co's visit - fall 2014 - old references to Russell

i'm presently listening to the co's visit of fall 2014.. he is referencing many references to russell's beliefs of the 1800's and 1903.. sadly, i did not record these comments from his talk.. anyone else have these comments?.

ok, not really.. but the rbc is spamming my email trying to get my volunteer information.

it all seems kind of hokey.

it comes from some unofficial gmail account that i've never seen and telling me to go to a generic form website to enter in my personal information.

Unique to your cong.

The elder or MS doing this chore has created that particular gmail - not the branch.

No worries about outing myself. It needs to happen sooner or later. I've already outed myself to my wife and close friends.

Then maybe the emails would stop.

From A Bublical Point Of View Did You Ever Think The Trinity Doctrine Made Sense?

i see no logic in it.

i see what appears to be some scriptural contradictions but i see no merit in a trinitarian view of god.. .

Bibical? No.

But I have rationalized that maybe it could be true, but has just been explained poorly. As in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one in the same sense that the Governing Body is one body or the three branches of the US government are one government. They do not physically make up one body or one government, but they are one in the sense they are working in a unified effort toward a common goal.

Still another poor explanation (a little farfetched, I know), but I once rationalized this way.

that was the crackpot theory of so-called pyramidologists.. among the men who promoted this silly idea was the founder of the watchtower publishing corporation, pastor c.t.russell.. he did not originate pyramidology, but he copied the work of the astronomer royal of scotland, professor charles piazzi smyth.

as well as another fellow named john taylor (the great pyramid (1859) and built a grand bit of humbug theology.
