Did you feel pushed into pioneering?
by Xanthippe inso i have been replying to letters from a jw friend who suddenly started writing to me after i've been out for nearly 25 years.. i have mentioned things like the poverty that pioneering causes from my own experience, worrying about having enough money to buy food.. i also said that the scrimping would have been worth it if we had been saving to buy a home or go on lovely holidays.. instead we ended up with nothing materially and we were living in a tiny rented flat when we left.. when i think of all the places i wanted to visit with my husband but couldn't because we were pioneering and had no money and now it is too late because my husband has died at the age of 54. we did get to visit some beautiful places but we ran out of time.. what i was trying to say to her was - life's too short.
stop waiting for the new system, get on with your life.
stop exhausting yourself in that religion.

Yes. If somehow, with a lot of financial "jiggling" you could pioneer but weren't you were "shirking". When we told the elders in Sept 2007 (I had "woken up" by this point) we had to put our daughters first, who at the time were 14 and 12 (we taught them at home) and HAD to come off as they were being neglected and were struggling, all we got was "Oh well, Jehovah will find replacements to take your place".

Why do they use 'human' apostates?

Came back from Germany in 1991 having served as a regular pioneer there (speak fluent German). Visited by an elder who said he could not take me at my word that I was actually on the list of regulars. Had to phone my former PO in Germany to vouch for me. He was speechless. So much for trusting your brothers. The aforementioned elder lost all his privileges a few years ago. He was in charge of the Hellaby Assembl accounts and apparently "discrepancies" were found. Don't know the ins and outs of this matter so will comment no further. His name was Paul Hamer.

New to studies Thank You

we have been having 2 home bible studies a week for over 4 months now and we started going to the kingdom hall 3+ months now.
i am enjoying my studies and the brothers and sisters are wonderful .

Hi,MW40 and welcome! I would just suggest you INSIST on only using an NIV or similar translation during your Bible Study, leaving the conductor alone with the Jehovahs Witness bible, the New World Translation. Good idea to read the cited scriptures in both bibles. The bible study will be even more interesting that way.

We all know of course that a "normal" mother loves their children no matter what. My mother hates me with venom now. Did we EVER have "normal" parents as jw kids, even when we were fully "in"? Our whole childhood was abnormal. Cult life.

I agree with Cofty. I don't buy this letter. I bet her"pain and anguish" for her son pale into insignificance to the "joy and elation" she now feels having obeyed the GB. This is evident in the way she squeezes the concluding two lines, including "Mother" into the last half-inch of the page. She is writing what she thinks a "normal" Mother would write in denying her own Son, in case it would be read by someone "in the world". A witnessing opportunity. (Oh God). I bet, like my mother, she would be on the first row with the elders to slip a "Jehu- knife" between her child's ribs - who is now an Agent of Satan and a filthy apostate.

EXACTLY WHAT are JEHOVAHS WITNESSES witnessing TO ??? THAT OTHER RELIGIONS AREN`T
by smiddy inany and every religion that preaches the bible,prints the bible ,distributes the bible and highlights the bible as the word of god ,certainly cannot be called anything but a witness of god,who by all accounts , certainly in mainstream religion recognise the name of god as jehovah / yahweh.. it is not a name that is exclusive to jehovahs witnesses , many christian religions identify with that name.
so jehovah`s witnesses have no reason to boast they are gods chosen people in this 21st century when they clearly cannot be seperated from other religions claiming the same things.in fact their failed"expectations"i purposely do not use the word prophecy when they made their pronouncements that never came to fruition too many to mention here .in fact many other religions have never fallen into the trap the witnesses have in making predictions/expectations that never materialized,.and their have been many.. smiddy.

Satanus: Hi! I've been an Anglican for a year, Confirmed since May - have never missed ONE service and have never heard a doctrinal lie(the only sort of lies I'm bothered about) yet. The only printed page we use is the NIV. (There are 3 readings in the service,plus a Psalm exerpt.) I am stunned by the knowledge and skill of the Vicar, Priest, Readers and Curate. I agree with every sentence of every Creed I recite because I have done enough research on them to support my newly-held convictions. Peace, G.
