I had nothing to say about for I was once in the situation where I was pressured to get baptized. I promised myself I would not exert that pressure on anyone. They got me when I was 15 and I was not ready.

Did You Support Children Getting Baptized?
by minimus inafter reading blondie's thread of the baptisms at the district convention, i couldn't help but identify with the 11 year old that said she was so happy to be baptized and has wanted to be baptized for years now.
i was 9 when i got baptized but really wanted to take the plunge at around 7. after my mother talked to the congregation servant about my desire, he said that she should not hold me back.
my daughter was 14 when she got baptized.

I was a lurker a few months ago. I was lead here mainly by typing the words jehovahs witnesses in the search box and hitting enter. This was one of the first sites that came up. I was very curious to see what former jws like myself were thinking, and to hear about some of their experiences. Being here has been very therapeutic, even though I was lead here without the bitterness. To all lurkers don't be afraid to challenge your belief system. Self exploration is not necessarily a bad thing.

Breaking Up is Hard to Do...
by joe_from_kokomo inmy wife and i just left the wts after some 6 years of involvement (5 1/2 as baptized jws).
it has been a painful experience, i must tell you, but also one that has been filled with great joy and relief, too.
the agony and the ecstasy, you could say.

I wish you and your wife the best. Leaving the wts behind is never an easy thing especially if you leave on your own terms. Be thankful because in the long run you will truly have peace of mind.

Rueben deserved to win. I think he is more marketable overall than Clay. Clay would fit in well performing on Broadway, for he's very one dimensional. Basically I would pay my hard earned money to go see Rueben peform, I can't say I would for Clay. The good thing is that they both will go very far.

Some days I regret I ever became a jw other days I just view it as a short part in the chapter of my life. Although I was a real pain in the behind in high school trying to sell awakes and watchtowers to kids in my class and starting impromtu studies at lunch.
