I don't know what type of congregations you guys were in but I know in ours rain didn't stop our preaching activities. We were over zealous. Once in awhile the meeting would be cancelled due to severe snow storms. This past winter I saw jws out in service despite state police asking people to stay off the roads if they did not have official business.

Did you lose respect for your parents because of the JW / Watchtower crap ?
by run dont walk inthis is probaly one of my biggest problems i dealt with growing up in the jw crap.. it's no fun growing up alone.. i am sorry, but i hated my parents (probaly from the time i was 13), i know that is mean and a terrible thing to say, but that's how i felt.
i had no respect for them growing up in the borg.
they taught me nothing about ................. having a relationship/dating.

I really can't say that I have lost respect for her as a whole. I mean she is still my parent. Over the last couple of years I have learned to respect her for her beliefs as a jw, because I have really no other choice. After all the problems I have put her through, by my departing, I am fortunate that we are even on speaking terms. I regret that I had no other choice but to follow in her footsteps by excepting jw beliefs. What othe choice do you have if your a minor and live with your parents, who support your exsistence? It was never my choice and for that I will always have issues with her.

How relieved are you now that your finally set free?
by micheal ini was thinking back to the time when i was in my "spiritual paradise" oh about 7 months ago and i can really remember just how unhappy most people really were.
most seemed so loaded down with "privledges" and "responsiblilities" that it just sucked the life out of them.
any spirit they may previously had had faded to mere a shell of their former selves.

I have come to the conclusion that I will never be free. I have lived a life enslaved to wt teachings and warped thinking. That's not an easy thing to erase.

If you saw a serious car accident, would you...
by JH inif you saw a serious car accident, and people were trapped in the car, or unconscious in the wreck, would you try to get them out even if the car was on fire and could explode at any moment?.
coming back from quebec city today, i saw a car or truck in the ditch upside down and with lots of smoke coming out of the wreckage.
4 or 5 cars were stopped near by to look at the accident.

Yeah I agree with most on this one. I feel like I would obligated to help because I am a health care professional. I have helped others in similar situations like the one you described. It all depends on your conscience.

What In Life Have You Kicked Yourself For?
by minimus inwe all have wished that if we had just one more chance to make a decision and could have changed things, we would have done something differently.
is there anything that you would have changed in your life if only you could?

It's easy to leave all that crap behind when you simply stop caring! You have only one you. why feel compelled to live your life in fear and unhappiness because of how one organization of people feel about you as a whole? There is no magic route to exit that religion. You simply use your common sense and judgement.
Stand up for yourself even if your standing alone!
