Do you feel guilty?

so while i was out hiking with the dogs today i got to thinking about this forum and was wondering how many of you still feel guilty from time to time for leaving?

i do, i miss my family at times but then i think about the life that i have created and i have a good one, i have good friends and i am happy, happier then i ever was as a jw.

i was just wondering if others feel the same way sometimes..

i've heard this said in other posts, so now i'm going to combine it in one post.. the $28 million awarded to conti is only drop in the bucket for what they are worth.. there would have to be 100 s of successful sex abuse law suites before they would feel it.

quite frankly i don't reckon there would be enough with the right circumstances to have a successful case against wt.

having a dozen or so cases isn't going to break the bank.

Elders/Ex-Elders: Question about Blood

after many years of objecting to the wt teachings on many levels, blood being one of them, i recently started to wonder (ok, i am slow!

) : what exactly does the wt think that the early non jewish christians were abstaining from in the blood abstention bit.

while i understand the context of the request that the apostle sent to the brothers, i do not understand what jws think they were abstaining from.. meat slaughtered improperly?.

Any blood left in meat bought at a regular supermarket or butcher shop is only the blood "fractions" that are now permitted by the WTBTS; don't ya know!

Yet another problem with GB = FDS

i was pondering this teaching yesterday.

the claim is that jesus and jehovah came and inspected all the religions and in 1919, chose rutherford as the fds.

today, the claim is that the governing body is the fds.

Jehovah and Jesus evidently had "overlapping" opinions of just who the FDS should be so apparently they decided to allow succession among the GB/FDS you know kinda how big J allowed polygamy among the Israelites, knowing that "soon" all this would become brighter and brighter.

Reading Captives of a Concept: Interesting what i read in CH3

surely jesus would have noticed what they had been teaching about his second coming, or invisible presence as they prefer to call it.

matthew 24:3 37 .

today they teach that he returned to begin his second coming in 1914. but the proclaimers book explains that this was not what they were teaching before, during and for many years after jesus' inspection in 1918-1919. on pages 46 and 47 it explains that in 1876... .

The teaching of Christ's return naturally seperates (fractionalizes) itself into 4 basic concepts over time. While a JW cannot accept the WHOLE teaching (for fear of being DF'ed) they can accept FRACTIONS of this teachings (if their conscience allows.)

Holy Spirit in new NWT

in johns gospel jesus refers to the "helper" "the spirit of truth" saying "when he arrives he will etc".

the wt justified their use of he in this instance, because in greek the word is masculine gender.. (aside from the ludricrousness of this argument - english does have neuter pronouns).

have they changed he to it inthese passages?.

Holy Spirit has to be male, otherwise the WTBTS would have to give real recognition to women!

2014 Circuit Assembly talks.....

i checked the program, i bet many can guess what many of the talks will be, but here are a few titles........ .

"symposium: reject strange teachings" - aka reject truth being exposed about the society and their teachings.

"you must hate your enemy" - aka you must hate the gb's enemy of family and friends who have awaken to their lies and left.
