Now JW's have a "Memorial Season"? really? I thought a "season" was more than just a 45 minute session! You know, baseball season=9 months, football season =5 months, "worldly holiday" season Thanksgiving thru New Years Day, etc., etc. O well I guess if the GB can absurdly redefine the word "Generation", why not also absurdly redefine the word "Season". Maybe we will be allowed to decorate our houses with "Memorial Season" decorations. (crackers and wine glasses) Of course, we will be able to purchase the 'appropriate decorations' at our local KH on a voluntary donation basis.

"Tis' the season to be busy fa la la la.........."

The Israelites were suppose to be Jehovah's Witnesses. The followers of Christ are to be Christians aka witnesses for Christ. Rutherford made up a weird name in order to create his own religion. I always hated the name Jehovah's witnesses. it made me feel creepy.

CIRCUIT ASSEMBLIES KEEP SHRINKING IN SIZE - WAY TO GO!!

the recent boe letter announcing changes to the duration of circuit assemblies was warmly received by congregations the worldover.

it was as if the brothers and sisters were already in the new world for, upon hearing this news, there were no tears at all.

instead, it is a humble acknowledgement from the gb of the mind-numbing, yawn-inducing 2-day circuit assemblies.. .

I agree with 'fulltimestudent' that assemblies and conventions are a ritualistic attempt to replicate Jewish festivals. 3 times each year the Jews were commanded to assemble. So why does a religion that claims Christ as it's head follow Jewis customs? It doesn't make sense. The Jewish was a monumental failure so why copy them? Duh! Did the Christians have large gatherings? Not mentioned in the Bible or other secular sources. The WTBTS is closer to imitating the nation of Israel than the 1st century Christian congregation. IMHO. Where's the manna?

Very curious that we get to hear about many of the costs and expences of the WTBTS and how much money it takes to keep the missionaries. CO's, and DO's going but we NEVER hear about how much money is donated each year to the WTBTS. How about full disclosure? I know it won't ever happen but we should all demand it anyway!

Does 1 Peter 1:16 ring a bell with anyone?

16 No, it was not by following artfully contrived false stories that we acquainted YOU with the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but it was by having become eyewitnesses of his magnificence.

I cannot think of many of the WT's teachings that are not of the "arttfully contrived false stories" variety. In fact, I think that all of their stuff is "artfully contrived" and it makes me angry with myself that I bought it for sooooooooo long.

i have heard rumors for over a year now that the wt is not going to have a 2014 dc.

i know they are having a circuit assembly and special day talk assembly but what about their yearly dc.

has anybody heard anything?.

No more District Conventions! They will now be known as Regional Conventions! Come on keep up with the "new light"! The chariot is moving so keep up!

Selective Statistics & extraordinary JW claims

* a jw family leave their crops and livestock unattained to go to a convention.

when they return, the crops and livestock are doing just fine.. * a desperate person is anxiously praying to god to give her a chance to know him.

even before the prayer is concluded, two jws knock at her door.. * a pioneer prefers to take leave from her work in order to attend the pioneer school, even though she's sure she'll be fired.

I once prayed for a puppy! That very afternoon my dad bought me a hotdog for lunch! I was "convinced" that my prayer had been answered!

regarding blood

as a father of a baptized jw 17 year old girl i am concerned about her stand on blood.

so i decided to do some research.

i found the following in the elders' book "sheperd the flock of god" pages 110-112.

If needed just take the blood tranfusion and claim you were pressured into it. Tell them that the doctors used "medical warfare" to trick you. Save your life and don't be stupid! Tell them you only took "fractions" (lol) but by the time you knew it the many "fractions" 'overlapped' and enough "fractions" made it whole blood and all the while this happened "invisibly" to to those without "eyes of understanding"! I'm sure any body of elders would understand this reasoning.
