Terry,
Great list!
A quote that I picked up on another "apostate" site; "I'd rather live with questions that can't be answered----than answers that can't be questioned!"

my husband and i have been out of the org for quite some time, but still find that old ideas and values come up and bite us on the ass.. lately, i've been plagued by an increase in the frequency and severity of my nightmares (which have always been an issue,) so i've begun to dream journal.
in just a few days, this realization cropped up.
i can't save people.. i've been blogging again recently.
Odrade,
The reason most of us are here is because we have, at one time or another, shared your same feelings/uncertainties. Truth is; WE can't save anyone. If there is a god, that's his responsibility. We're just imperfect, sinful, weak humans, his helpless children, right?
Think of the fable of Noah. Who did he save? Animals, that's who he saved. The SPCA is proud of him. He may have been a good ark builder (yea right), but he was a very ineffective preacher!
All those years of preaching and only his own little cult of 8 survived! lol But he was busy all those years doing the "lord's" work which was the important thing right?
Even if you actually killed someone, remember the fable of King David---the adulterer! God forgives blood guilt, or at least he should since the bible is full of accounts where he, god, spilled the blood of thousands of innocent humans.

i wonder how many jws are sexually frustrated due to the repressive views of the org?.
im sure that there are millions of messed up witnesses who have been severely damaged due to the teachings and guilt that the org places on all members.. now, i'm not encouraging a reckless lifestyle, but i'm sure so many more problems are experienced by witnesses just because of the suppressed and guilt laden attitudes the org has perpetuated!
they can even be open in their marriages!.
Hey Stillin,
"She said that she wasn't going to do the work of a prostitute."
Kindly ask your 'christian' wife who lives by bible principles, "Honey, if you are not going to do the work of a prostitute, may I have a prostitute do the work of a wife?" (be gentle, it may be her first time)

the scriptures portray a person named stephen who is termed the first "martyr.
" the greek word means "witness.".
( greek : , martys , "witness"; stem -, martyr- ).
Terry,
Always enjoy your comments and insight. I suspect that we are about the same age since I was also a caught up in the Vietnam War fiasco in 1969-71. I lived in California and the sentence that a lot of us California JW's received was: '2 years working in a community hospital'. I guess the prisons were too full of real criminals. lol
"The Jews were not allowed to execute anybody by order of Roman Law!"
I always found that account about Stephen quite unusual also. The Jews couldn't executeJesus because of Roman law, yet these same Jews could execute Stephen? and in Jerusalem? The bible account seems a little inconsistent to say the least.

it sucked!!.
so what's going on in the borg!?
what have you missed??
I attended the 1 day with my wife last weekend. What I found interesting was their was no mention or reference, at all, to ANYTHING that Tony or Sammy talked about during the Zone Visit fiasco. Nothing about 'tight pants, spanx, or for sisters to only marry a MS'. Wow! Even the CO's must still be trying to assimulate that crap from the Zone Visit talks. lol Or are the CO's just ignoring the words of the words of Christ's brothers?

Hi Greybeard,
I remember your post of several years ago. You mentioned an elder named Ron Dare who was on you're df'ing committee. I know him from another cong. I liked him but total company man.
I'm close to your location and would like to meet up with you soon. maybe even share some herb. PM me and I'll get in touch.

How stupid is their 'copyright' claim. If they publish their classically flawed doctrines, it's going to to get 'published' on the internet. Has the 'faithful slave' checked with big J to see if they are violating any of his 'copyright' laws by twisting what he published?

a gold star to the first person to correctly identify the image!.
I didn't see a wedding ring on Eve's hand nor a pinky ring on Adam's hand. No wonder god punished them!

i was 24 when i was first appointed as an elder.
i very much respected the old timers, the elders that were basically good guys, family men and who tried to be good examples, although they knew they were far from perfect.
i haven't been to a meeting in about a decade and i wonder if the elders of today are that much different than those of yesteryear.
If you get 10 hours in 'serve-us', conduct a 'family worship' night, answer at the WT study, show up to clean the KH, don't smoke (in public), not a (public) drunk, you're qualified to be an elder. Welcome brother, now get your butt to work!

now i know they have always discouraged marrying outside of their so called 'truth' but since when has it been a punishable offense?
my sister recently married and they are discussing wether her being married to an outsider will stumble others and if they need to reprove or disfellowship her for it..
Marriage outside the religion punishable? -----What a JOKE!
This whole subject really shows just how arbitrary the wtbts is when it come to bible interpretation. The borg likes to sell us on how they use "bible principles" as a basis for the moral standards that they enforce. For example; smoking is a df'ing offence, BUT the bible doesn't actually condemn smoking.
On the other hand, the bible actually DOES condemn marring an 'unbeliever'. You know those scriptures; "DO NOT become unevenly yoked with an UNBELIEVER" ; and "marry ONLYin the Lord". Those 2 scriptures are not principles, they are laws stated by the apostle Paul. Yet the wtbts choses to ignore these 2 laws. WHY? lol
"At the Zone meeting Tight Pants Tony advised young Sisters from even marrying a Baptized JW Brother if he wasn't a Ministerial Servant yet. "
Would it be a good idea if all of us, still attending meetings, asked some of the elders in our congregation if they could "now", in all good conscience, perform a wedding between a sister and a brother 'IF' the brother is not a MS? After all, Tony (one of Christ's brothers) advised it for all to hear!
Could the service committee allow a wedding in the KH between a sister and brother if the brother is not a MS? (Remember what Tony said at the Zone meeting!)
