May I ask "How does the GB get 'new light'? If the 'new light' is different from previous teachings of the wtbts, then isn't the GB member who introduces the 'new light' an apostate?"

When I make my monthly appearance at the Sunday meeting (don't want to become irregular ya know lol) I usually have about 2 shots of vodka before we leave to numb my mind and remain calm during the indoctrination session. Wish I'd thought of that 50 years ago.

we have spent the last few weeks in training at the montgomery facility (near walkill) there are 6 couples that were trained to go on the road as ldc field representatives of the branch.

Sounds like a great BUSINESS model to me. FREE labor, discounted materials, 'loan' the money to the local to buy, the locals repay the 'loan' and the wtbts still owns the property. Brilliant! LCD or RBC makes no difference.

I've not only had the good old "wait on jehober" told to me since my fade, but I used that very phrase many, many time to "encourage" others.
Now when the elders tell me I need to "wait on jehober" I ask them if that applies to all jw's or only the rank and file dubs. Of course the tell me it applies to ALL jw's so i then ask doesn't the gb "wait on jehober" to get the correct story--you know, the truth-- before they print bulls**t lies in the wt literature? The need to constantly have 'nu-lite' tells any reasoning person the the gb didn't "wait on jehober"!

I'm surprised that the GB still publishes the 'real' numbers, if in fact these are the real numbers. The negative stats reveal a trend that IMHO will soon be showing up in many more countries as the "Armageddon sooooon" lie becomes more apparent.
I'm sure that if the GB prayed over it, received "nu lite", and got jehobers blessing, the negative numbers could somehow become positive by "overlapping" the stats and/or by accepting "some fractions" from other doner countries. Of course, the GB would not accept 'whole' numbers from doner countries, but "fractions" could possibly save some of the 'dying' countries.

First Time Post - Long time reader

i was baptized at a young age and once i got married i was a very spiritual woman as they would call me.
my husband and i served as full time pioneers, we traveled abroad and went to international conventions, did some special pioneer service in other states in the us.

Your story is much like mine except that I'm the Husband in my story. Nearly 6 decades for me. Baptized at 12, giving public talks at 18, married at 19, appointed as an elder at 23. Over 2 decades as an elder. I was a 'golden child' for the wtbts. Circuit assembly parts at 20. Wife and I talked about circuit work and damn glad we had children instead. It was not just one particular thing that helped me see ttatt, it was many things. Oh yea, the fear and guilt of "looking behind the curtain" hindered my exit and in addition I was the COBE at the time I'd had enough. I really though that I was all alone in my disgust for the wtbts but I was willing to go it alone if necessary. I "resigned" as an elder and started searching the internet for other "evil apostates" like myself. lol. Read CofC and knew that Ray was telling the "whole"truth. Read a few other books to help me realize what power the wtbts had over people.
Unfortunately, my wife is still in but there is hope as I see her accepting the "new me" and not 'guilt tripping' on me. She's starting to see the fallacy of the wtbts but all of her friends and family are dubs as are mine. It's been an amazing 5-6 year ride out of the wtbts but the self discovery has been so worth it.

Hi Recovering,
I was a dub for 57 years. Always had serious doubts about our weird little religion, but being raised in"da troof" you just sort of close your mind to rational, logical thinking and go along. My whole family are jw's and that makes it difficult. When I finally could not go along any longer with the ridiculous crap that the wtbts was teaching, I resigned as an elder and kinda went crazy for several years. I should have been seeing a therapist, didn't and I suffered much mental anguish. I became very depressed and finally checked myself into a mental health facility where I got help dealing with my cognitive dissonance.
When I finally accepted ttatt and told my wife (of 45 years) about how I felt, she was going to leave me because I was an "evil apostate" you know. Been out mentally (sort of faded away) now for 5-6 years but not df'ed or da'ed. My wife is beginning to understand also that the 'da troof' is not 'da troof'. It's been quite a ride (as many of us here can testify) but well worth the anguish since my life is now mine. The freedom is exhilarating! Time to pursue the things I loved but neglected is very rewarding/satisfying. My wife, though still active as a dub, has seen a happier, better me and I know that she knows why. You can't go back in time to reclaim all those lost decades but, you can live a very fulfilling life now and in the future.
Hang tuff because it will get better and hopefully (if you want it) your wife will someday see ttatt. You're doing the right thing by getting therapy.

Is Watchtower's stance against education only for North American witnesses
by wannaexit ini was reading on a european ex jw forum where some feel that watchtower's railing against higher education is primarily for north america issue.
this is due that many in usa and canada leave home to leave on campus.
it was mentioned that many young european jw attend universities and its not frowned on.. i found this odd because i heard what morris and losch said about education in italy.

The wtbts is an American/English speaking religion/corporation born and raised right here in the 'good ol' USA. Education/knowledge is of course the enemy of a cult.
When the new revised NW translation came out in 2013, my wife, and nearly every other jw that I knew, were very giddy about this new bible aka silver sword. The new revised bible was proof of jehobers blessing! So, I sort of annoyed her when I pointed out that jehober must only love and bless the english speaking dubs-at least for now.
How can the 100's of other language groups possibly 'keep up with jehober's celestial chariot" when they don't have the "silver sword"?
