What Did You Choose Jehovah Over?
About 57 years of living life! Whata dumb f*ck!

some jws believe they have the truth.
they alone understand god, jehovah.
they are very happy being jehovah’s witnesses.👍👌..... many others realize what they have given up for jehovah, to belong to the jehovah’s witness religion.

eight years ago, i lived in a kind of "retirement" hotel.the palm house.no - it wasn't an old folks home.
it was an ancient folks home.mostly senior ladies living off of faith and a dead husband's money.. my encounter with jesus came about in that environment.. once a week there would be a coffee and doughnuts get-together to get to know your neighbors.. well .
.i got invited repeatedly, badgered, coaxed, pestered and i gave up.
Thanks Terry,
Its a great story proving that folks see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear!
I tried for 50+ years to 'see' the wt as the only true religion. All I saw was a hazy outline of questionable "prophecies". I tried to see that jesus selected the 'faithful slave' in 1919!
Folks see what they want to see!

driving by a kh yesterday we saw a for sale sign in front of the building.
it's on a beautiful piece of property off a main road outside the city limits.
the building can be no more than 10 years old and is very beautiful.
"The waters of the Euphrates River are drying up"! Remember how the wt used to push that Revelation idea that people would begin withdrawing from 'false religion' churches? lol lol
It's true!

today is the 75th anniversary of the end of wii in europe.
they were a special generation who were literally prepared to give their lives rather than submit to fascism.
millions paid the ultimate price.
My dad was a US Army WWII veteran. He enlisted and he fought the Germans in France. He didn't talk too much about his military service but when he did, he mentioned how brave and tough the British soldiers were.
I had an older brother who was born before my dad enlisted so actually my dad could have avoided military service, but he saw what was happening and he enlisted. I'm glad he made it back because I wasn't born until 1947!
I agree that they were the Greatest Generation!

“jehovah's witnesses' ever-changing teachings: the most important changes in the doctrine of the watchtower society in the year 1879-2015” by włodzimierz bednarski and szymon matusiak..

The only "teachings" that the watchtower will not change are the ones that will cause them land them in deep legal and financial trouble. So the bullshit blood "teaching" can never change!

i was a witness from grade school ( 1976) until 2007. i seem to remember an important aspect that was always talked about at the hall as being a fact.they would say that "the rocks themselves would cry out" if the public preaching work was to stop,,,,, all i've seen and heard these past few months are the witnesses complaining about the witnessing work coming to a halt.but i've not heard one rock crying .. .
.
.
They jw preaching work is about as interesting as a box of rocks!

i have known many elders who were much more into the idea of being an elder and getting all the old ladies to tell them what wonderful talks they give and the power then really being a believer.
i had one elder tell me that when he became an elder he was on top dog on top of the heap.
i knew some who were really all about the religion and following the cult.
That pretty much describes most elders. Most have less that a high school education but they get to be a 'top dog' in the borg! It's all fun and games until they realize all the fu*cking time and work it involves. Didn't get to see too much of my first 2 kids growing up cause I was an 'elder'.

the reason that i ask is, in the two years on this forum and you tube, i've seen ex-jw's either drop off entirely or make fewer and fewer videos.
i know the emotional toll can be high.
is that the sole reason, or is it cost (video) or do you think it's external pressure (legal or family)?
Like everything in life. As the newness wears off, so does the enthusiasm and zeal. Once the venting and ranting are done, it's then just about lending a hand of support to others who have found ttatt. Nice to know you're not alone too!

20/20 (this year's) hindsights, reading between the lines:.
par 7-10. hanna's infertility: problem?
go to the organisation for help; the center of worship, shilo, to eli and his sons.
The things comforting and soothing about yesterday's wt study were not having to get ready and go to the kh! Sat in my own chair and dozed off several times! Very soothing!

i’ve been thinking about it for a few weeks and i’m sort of surprised that no one else has introduced this topic!.
what better time than now for a fader to fade?
no meetings, no field service, no elder visits, no assemblies, no convention, and no other bullshit busy work going on.
It's been said; "Absence makes the heart grow fonder."
I think that jw's are becoming very fond of not having to go to meetings and 'out in service'.
