The elders place themselves in the seat of judgement and power and it was never theirs to take. They act as if they have the right to tell you what you can and can't do with your life and tell you that God will not approve of you. They are claiming to speak for God and that is the very ESSENCE of presumtuousness...a trait that is listed among those that God dispises.

Letter to elders when marriage mate confess adultery
by scrubmaster ini understand from talking to some one who had some knowledge of the situation but could not find the reference material , that the society has something in writing which says if a person believes they are scripturally free and that they are willing to stand before jehovah and face the consquences they can get married -- (this in effect leave the elders out of the equation and they can not do anything to you.
) does anyone know where this reference can be found -- i need it as soon as possible.
i can not find it.

Yes, they condemn themselves with their own words and it is so easy for you to condemn them using their own words against them. They make it so damned easy! But it wouldn't be as easy if they lived by my motto: "The less a man makes declarative statements the less apt he is to look foolish in retrospect." Don't put things you are not sure of IN WRITTING! That's common sense. You can't use white-out on things written in stone.

That's what a funeral is all about: not just grieving but rejoicing in that persons' life. It's not just a day of grief but of joy. Remembering everything they did while alive. It's a testimony to their life and it can, depending on the person and their life, be either a golden or a thorny crown. I'm happy that everything in Banko's life is a golden crown for her to wear and I hope she is wearing it proudly and humbly. That's what I would want my funeral to be like: Everyone sitting around and remembering everything I did and said and telling funny stories about me. Making everyone else that didn't know me as well as others know me...making them know me even better by the end of the day and walk away feeling better about themselves because they now know me better and feel enriched and blessed by it. From the sounds of it this is exactly what Banko's funeral was and I'm sure she was very pleased with it. It was a testimony to her life and that's what it's all about.

If You Were God, How Would You Feel About Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Englishman inif i was god, i'd be pretty pissed off with jw's.
they must surely be the most appalling publicity agents on the face of the earth!
according to them, god is someone who is obsessed with what we do with our genitalia.

As far as the rank and file members I would just point out to them the errors of their ways, open their minds and hearts and then show them the faults of the organization they were following. If by the end they were ashamed of ever being a part of them then I would forgive them because most of them don't have the ability to discern when they are being lied to and are good people at heart. They are just misled and being a sinful imperfect person that is to be understood. But if after showing them the atrocities of the organization with their hearts and minds being opened and they still cling to it then I would inform them that they will share in her fate. Flee from the disgusting thing that you do not share in its fate. They will have their chance to flee but not all will take advantage of it. They will go down with the worst of them but not for a lack of serious Godly convincing.

If I was God it would be a very good thing that I have the ability to count the number of stars that are in the universe because I would use those great counting skills to keep track of the great and growing number of atrocities the JW organization is comitting on a daily basis. I would open up each and every one of their hearts and minds and force them to see themselves for what they really are. I would take the ones in power and set them aside seperate and beat into their now-opened minds every single one of the truley evil things they have done. I would force them to see all of the lives they have destroyed. Every single life...every single family...every single detail. By the time I got done with them they would be so mentally beaten down and they would be begging me to stop but I would not stop until I showed them EVERYTHING they have done throughout the years! They would be quivering in shame and revulsion over their revealed actions. Then I would tell them that they are to be held accountable for all of these actions whether they personally did them or not. As an organization they are responsible for everything that organization has done in the past and what they are doing in the present. I would point out to them that since they have this strong belief in bloodguilt and use that as a reason for going out in service I would then use this belief against them and tell them that they must answer for all of this bloodguilt. They must pay back every drop of blood they were responsible for spilling...and they must pay it back with their own blood. I would point out also that with the great number of sins they have comitted they do not have enough blood to cover the debt they owe me. But every drop I would take nontheless. In the end they will know excatly why they were destroyed and by the time I got done with them they would be begging me to just get it over with.

Give All The Ways JWs Are Different From The "World" aka "Normal People"
by minimus inmy daughter was telling me yesterday that she was explaining the differences between jehovah's witnesses and other religions to her co-workers.
she explained that witnesses can't date "worldly" people-----only fellow witnesses.
she said jws don't celebrate birthdays because they are "pagan".......it dawned on my daughter that it was very incredible all the things jehovah's witnesses don't believe in or will not do.....can you think of different things that only jws do or do not do??

Their beliefs are so rigid and unbending. They are like this so they can supposedly be a "witness" to how strongly they hold to their faith. They think this gives the world a possitive testimony to their faith. But in having such an unbending faith structure they end up being very rude, abrassive, unhelpful, unloving to everyone else around them. For example, someone at work dies. The office rallies around that persons' friends and family and expect you to do the same. But you don't because they are all wrong in their throughts and you are the only one that is right. To join in would be to throw your faith to the wind. So you show no compassion and do nothing to comfort the grieving. So by having this standpoint it makes it look like the worldly people and the sinners are more loving than you are. And you shall know them by the love that they have for one another.

Re: The doctrine and the practice

first cleanse the inside of the cup and of the plate, that the outside also may be clean.. that which you drink from and eat from.
the practice.

All I've heard were things like, "...that it does not bring reproach upon Jehovah's organization..." when someone threatened to go to the authorities or to the media. So it seems that they are more concerned with their image than their heart. And being that the image is an external thing and the heart is internal I would say they are more concerned with making sure the surface of their cup is clean rather than making sure that what they are filling the cup with is clean.

Transfusion once again
by krzysiek inwhat i cannot understand is why jw are so determined not to allow to transfuse blood.
it's anachronism!
the governing body has changed so many their doctrines, why cannot they change that?

Here's the way I look at it... Jesus died for our sins. That means any sin we commit is covered by Jesus' death. The only sin that is not is the unforgivable sin which has had much debate over what that really is. JW's claim that they believe that Jesus' death covers your sins. But they also believe that you are worthy of death if you take a blood transfusion. They obviously believe this because if you have one you are disfellowshipped, which is as good as death in their eyes because if Armageddon came while you were disfellowshipped you would die.
So they are saying that there are sins that Jesus' death does not cover. They are saying that Jesus died for nothing and his death isn't as powerful as we thought. Either that or they are saying that taking a blood transfussion is the unforgivable sin! Folks, there is no sin that we commit that Jesus' death does not cover apart from the unforgivable sin and as long as we have faith then we will be fine.

Jesus and the two criminals dying beside him.....
by sandy ini have been watching a couple of the movies retelling the life of christ and i was wondering about the words jesus said to the criminal who asked him to remember him.. the king james version reads: and jesus said unto him, "verily i say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise" luke 23:43. the new world translation reads: and he said to him "truly i tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.
" luke 23:43. the movie i was watching quoted or at least was closer to the king james version.
maybe i am wrong but the same scriptures seem to imply two different things.

Oh well, let them be in that boat then. I agree that if works were all it took then those works would eventually turn into a form of human judgement and something to boast over. Like...I don't know...certain Witnesses that have more hours than you do. I guess that makes them more saved....right?

How does one procure this circular disc of contradiction? I would like one so I can post some more things about them and their lies on my Livejournal.
