The reason you felt that way was because you knew deep inside that it was wrong to shun people because of what they believe in. This is the very nature of human kind coming out telling you that you were wrong and that is so much more important than what the JWs tell you is right.

People go back because they have the "what-if" engrained into them so deeply that they can't shake it. That's part ofhow I joined. "What if there is a war and I die because I made the wrong choice? Better safe than sorry." That's part of the brain washing technique...always making you second guess yourself and have to rely on them as a just-in-case scenario.

These people must think that God is a chump if they think they can fool Him by not living by his rules unless there's threat of death upon them. And when that threat surfaces then they whip themselves into a frenzy trying to make up for lost time, trying to impress God. I don't know of any PERSON that would fall for that, do they really think GOD would fall for it?

I hate that with a passion. Before joining the JW I was a Protestant. After leaving the JW I wouldn't consider myself a Protestant or anything else for that matter. I consider myself a Christian of no particular denomination. I consider my faith and beliefs to be a private matter between me and God and I need no title to define it and no church to goto to validate my faith or to prove my faith to some equally sinful man. We're all in the same boat. I've had total strangers and friends come up to me and ask me if I have been saved or if I believe in Jesus Christ as my Personal savior and I tell them the same thing every time..."My belifes and my relationship with God is a PERSONAL relationship and doesn't involve anyone else. If He's my PERSONAL savior then, by its very definition, it's PERSONAL and none of your business. Evaluate yourself before you start worrying about me."
You made some good points there, friend. Just make sure that you aren't leaping out of the frying pan and into the fire. What I mean by that is just make sure that you don't get yourself stuck into a similar mindset of "their is only one way and mine is right" and don't get yourself stuck into another cult (not saying that you have or anything like that). It's taken my experience as a witness to show me that when your faith is regulated by another man YOU ARE SCREWED because that man is usually alot more sinful than you are.Keep up the good posts!

Whatever happened to the deleted law??!! The witnesses preach that God allows the governments of the world to stay in power to keep "relative" peace and order and that we answer to them as an authority. They preach that we must obey the laws of whatever land we live in because God has placed them there and allows them to exist for now.
Are those bastard pieces of shit elders following the laws of the land by NOT reporting this to the police? If there was a witness that was a bank robber and the elders concealed that information from the police the elders would be accessories and would goto jail as well. Why is molestation any different???!!!

This is what I always wonder with parents that are like this to their own children:
When the father is lying on his death bed, will he wonder why none of his family is there to comfort him?
Will he be saddened by the fact that no one cares enough about him to see him during his last hours of life?
Will he be deep in thought as to WHY no one cares about him?
Will he then realize what an asshole he has been his entire life?
Will he realize that it is now 'HIS fault' that he is on his death bed and alone with no one to sympathise?
Will he realize the errors of his ways?
Will he then beg forgiveness from God for his unloving actions?
Will he ask that his son or daughter come to be with him before he dies?
Will he beg forgiveness from his son/daughter?
Will the son/daughter forgive him and show him the love that was NEVER shown to them, giving them love and respect that they NEVER earned and have no right to and hold the father in their arms as he passes on?
Or will the son/daughter kneel down beside their dying father, take his hand in their's, look him in the eye and say, "You are only asking forgiveness to clear your conscience and to save face before God because you know that you WILL BE held accountable to God for shutting me out of your life and for having no natural affection or love of any kind. I have begged for a relationship with you for decades and each time you have treated me less than dirt. You have made no effort of any kind to show any love towards me whatsoever. You have, in effect, disowned me. And only now, as you lay here dying, do you see the error of your ways. Now you know what it has been like for me all these years, as I lay dying inside as you shunned me and turned your back on me. THIS is how it feels. I want you to remember that this is all your fault now. You are now harvesting the fruit of your labor of hatred and I want you to take a big bite and savor the taste of it. I think about things like this alot and it makes me very glad to know that I am very close to my mother and step father and how they have always been there for me and shown me the greatest love and respect anyone could ever hope for. And I would be there for them any time they needed me, especially when it comes for their time to leave this earth.

It has always irritated me when people always think God is answering their prayers for such things that God wouldn't concern himself with. Someone thanking God for answering their prayers of getting $10 million is bullshit! Do they really think God gave them the money? Doesn't the bible say that God is not partial? If that's the case he would be showing one person favor instead of someone else and that's just not so. God has nothing to do with crap like that.
I work for the phone company and I get so many people praising Jesus when their phone is turned back on or begging God to lower their phone bill. God does not give two shits about your damn telephone!
If it's a prayer that is materialistic and not spiritual I firmly believe God ignores those. It's too bad the idiots don't see it because it's incredibly stupid for some pop star to thank God for their success when God had nothing to do with it.

Well since babies are too young to commit any sins and lack the ability to verbally, mentally and emotionally choose a religious belief system I would have to think that the baby goes back to where it came from and God should have to welcome him back. Why would He have any condemnation against him?
