  How do you relax ?

  i'm just listening to my deep purple album - made in japan...drinking a beer after i've just made the evening meal ....ah !

  Picked up my, "one and only girlfriend" in my Jag, drove out to the beach house, sat on the back screened in porch, watching the water, listening to Nora Jones and Laura Turner. We sipped wine coolers, talked and just took it all in. At twilight we slow danced, then went inside to comfort one another. Then about ten I drove her home. It doesn't get much better than that for relaxing in my book! Mav

  Once a cheater always a cheater?

  i caught my boyfriend of 8 years cheating on me about a month ago.

  he claims it is the only time he has ever cheated and he never thought he would ever cheat nor would he ever do it again.

  some of my friends are upset at me saying i should have left him immeditately.

  Once a cheater always a cheater?

  Having found myself on both sides of this situation I find this hard to thing to talk about. Tall T. has a very solid and valid line of reasoning, so does Six. I considered myself a loyal person, and when I was married,(15 years) I never strayed. When I was in a committed relationship I never strayed. But if I felt I was not in a committed relationship all bets were off. Now I had a few lady friends that wanted a committed relationship and I did not discourage them, but in time I came to care for one above the rest and one of the others knew about her and tried to spoil it. At that point I realised I had been a jerk and almost blew a good thing. I always talk about dating to find the one good one, but sometimes you get wrapped up in the game and don't see that one when she comes along. I am hoping this girl will forgive me and we can rebuild a measure of trust again. It will never be as good as it could have and that's my bad, but I hope I can prove to be the kind of person I saw myself as before this all happened.

  The point is that this story has no real value. It assumes that being outside the WTS is like being a wild animal. It assumes Jesus is going to kill everyone outside the WTS. It makes useless comparisons about the nature and value of difference animal species. It sounds dramatic but has no real meaning. Which makes this story a perfect example of everything the WTS stands for and is.

  There are many pitfalls in the lives of young people that the WTS says they help them avoid, drugs, immorality, wasted energy on pursuits that will not serve them as adults. And yet sadly these are the very things they do to the ones they claim to help! Is not mind control druggery? Is it moral for a publishing company to steal the love and worship of God? Is not is theft a total waste of a young persons energy and will that loss serve them as adults?

  Youth, beware those who claim to have your best interests at heart! Maverick

  An average Americans view of the French people

  i have just returned from spending a week in the company of frenchbabyface, (fbf) and would like to share some basic observation that i feel will enlighten my fellow countrymen and women about a people we, as a culture, actually know very little about.

  i do believe the medias of both countries do not show their people an honest and forthright view of the other countries people.

  the american media gives us almost no news of france and most of what we do get is not very positive.

  Seems the guys want to hear about the women. OK

  No fat French women. Did not see many fake boobs either. Not much make-up but a lot of very nice looking black women with their nails and hair done up. Better in general than the non blacks. If you like noses the French have very strong facial features. I found them a rather handsome people and the women very pleasant to look at. A city full of good-looking people. My good manners made me stand out as a foreigner.

  FBF looks a lot like Nora Jones and can even sing. She says not but don't believe her.

  I behaved so that is all I can tell you about the ladies. Sorry to disappoint you gents. It was not why I went there. Actually it was a nice rest. Which ended very soon after my return home! Maverick

  Thank you all for your interesting and insightful imput!

  As long as I stayed away from anything touristy I had great fun! But when FBF and I went to see the sights and we were in crowds of foreigners I found it uncomfortable. You have to be on guard every minute. One night FBF,s son and I brought my daughter back to her hotel, she was traveling in Europe and took a day to be with us, and when me came back on the metro it was close to 11PM. We walked the streets of Paris and Antony stop and talk to his friends after we stopped to get a couple of pizzas, very different. So here we are walking home with two hot pizzas and going down alleys and talking to rough looking street people and getting a pass because of who he was. Alone I would have been in deep trouble, but I liked it. No tourist gets to see this side and walk away with a smile and a wave!

  I know I stood out as American especially by being polite and smiling a lot. But that's just me! I know many Americans that don't do that here.

  The Metro at rush hour was very cool. Yes the French do not care about your space, maybe because they don't have any. We have so much of everything here, even space! Maverick

  I have just returned from spending a week in the company of Frenchbabyface, (FBF) and would like to share some basic observation that I feel will enlighten my fellow countrymen and women about a people we, as a culture, actually know very little about. I do believe the medias of both countries do not show their people an honest and forthright view of the other countries people. The American media gives us almost no news of France and most of what we do get is not very positive. And I will say the French News Services are almost as guilty as ours of doing the same in reverse.

  I was able to see the city of Paris as few Americans can. Not as a tourist, thought I took in the sights, but off the beaten path as the locals do. I live in a tourist town in Florida so I know how the locals feel in general about visitors and how we stay away from them personally. Example, I go to the places they don't know about and when I want to play at a tourist spot I know when most of them will not be around and go then.

  FBF took me all over the city on the Metro or we walked. We went to the market to buy food and the Tabac to buy tobacco products and anywhere else the local people go to do the most basic things people do to live. Americans are service minded and we expect everyone to treat us this way. Most of the place in the world I have been outside tourist spots do not have this same attitude. So when an American thinks other people are being rude the local people do not see it this way. We project our values onto them and this is not right. We expect them to speak to us and adjust for us in our language, this is arrogant and insulting to them.

  What I really found surprising is that all of the French people I spoke to believe we worship Pres. Bush! They think we are ready to follow him to take over the world! I personally am not very happy with the man and it was a shock to them that there are people in America that feel this way.

  I will talk more about things I saw and experience if anyone reponds to this post. But I will say this, I was very impressed with the intelligents, passion, and warmth of the people I met and will defend their right to be French to anyone who will listen. Maverick

  so there i was, slaving away in a customers front garden, cutting fascias and guttering to size prior to affixing them to his home.

  like all window and gutter fixers, my clothes are covered with a hundred finger marks where i have used my forefinger to point in the mastic and then just wiped it on the nearest thing to hand, ie, me.

  i look like i have been the victim of a 1000 seagull bomber raid.

  You were waiting for the fake love routine and she showed you her true side and this confused you. As she walked away maybe a comment such as, " Your attitude is a perfect example of the JW's lack of real love. Thank you for reminding me of that!" Then smile and dismiss them by turning your back and going on as if they were never there at all. Maverick
