I was reading my girl friends August Kingdum Miseries and they were pushing the "not forsaking meeting attendance". How the world tries to diminish the hard work of God's people but they must be ever vigilat against the Devil and his dupes! They may be few bla, bla, bla..... That was about as far as I could stomach! Mav

when i was about 10 years old, a sister gave my mother a box of books.

That's great! Go for it! My GF is going for her Masters and I encourage her all the time. She is 38 so it was not easy for her to go back. She'll be done by years end.
I wish you the best! Mav

Guess who is being spoken about.
by Maverick inthis information is taken from my daughters college philosophy text book, "the story of philosophy" by bryan magee; .
(this group) tended to regard their beliefs not just as personal opinions but as scientific knowledge, and therefore as "known" with absolute certainty.
this gave them enormous confidence and made them famously intolerant of all alternative views and opinions; and whenever they got into power they forbade the publication or teaching of any ideas that were incompatible with theirs.

Sirona, so quick to jump into this. I bet your a real ball of fire! I was looking for a reaction, I just didn't think you to be the one to react.
You can project whatever motive you want. I know why I wrote what I wrote. Most people who come here get half the cure. They overcome doing the JW routine but stop there. They don't give up the JW don'ts. They never replace the value system installed by the JW masters. As for intelligence, there are a lot of different areas of intelligence. True I have some things I do well but, as Pole showed, I can't spell for crap, and I have two spell checks and a dictionary right here at my desk.
Your a pretty girl, maybe your a snob. Lots of beautiful women are. Beautiful or not I'll go toe to toe you you anytime babe. Just be sure you know what your talking about. If I'm wrong, I've learned something, if not......

Thanks for the feedback Undercover.
Sirona, being a fellow Mensan I'm surprised you would even commented. You rarely respond to anything I write, even on your own topics. Mav

Why Have Memorial if...
by Sweetp0985 inno one partakes of it?
out of the many memorials i have been to, i only recall 1 when a bethelite came to give our talk and he was of the anointed and partook of the emblems.
but anyway i've read a post on here and heard about a person in my local area that partook of the emblems and their "anointed" status was questioned.

The Memorial is a sham used to "prove" JW's are a christain organization to the collective and anyone dumb enough to get suckered into attending. Once a year they pull their cardboard Jesus out of the closet, dust him off, parade him around the Hall for five minutes then talk about how and why everyone should join they special-ed group. Then their stiff savior gets very unceremoniously pitched back into the closet of obscurity until next year.
As for partaking, this is an "in your face" put down of the RF. Your are dirt and don't you forget it, you worms! And the nit-witnesses take their abuse and sing praises to their masters with songs of, " Beat me harder and more often!" Mav
