If the governments took away their tax exempt and privileged status this would help with a lot of budget problems. Maverick

since religions are the source of trouble around the globe, do you think we are about to see something happen really soon?

Abiogenesis
by Jerry Bergman insome off the top of my head responses (with help from a friend) to a set of questions from another topic site are as follows.
1. what is the estimated minimum nucleotide length of dna or rna needed for a self-reproducing organism?
the lower limit for a living non virus is usually considered around 4,000 genes or about 400,000 dna base pairs (bacteria genes are about 1,000 base pairs long - see clark and russell molecular biology 2000).

I know this is off topic, but I would just like to comment on the 'turn' in this thread. There is a person who has posted some comments that do not sit well with many, and though the subject is not relevant or of interest to me, the poster is. This person has been a loyal and trustworthy friend for over 20 years. One of the most dynamic people I know. He can be very tender and thoughtful, and be crude and brutal. He can be very intimidating as he is a very BIG person. But he is a gentle and loving father of three of the most well adjusted young adult children I have ever known. And a caring and loving husband to one of the most beautiful 'movie star' woman I have very had the pleasure to be in the presence of. And a man of great moral courage, (who has counseled me on my escapades with the ladies), and love for the Bible and the True God. A man of great intellect, more than my equal. He is known here as Blackguard. And I would trust my life and family in his care, anytime. Maverick

R/F: Love our post! The Society should have a 'Traveling Comic' who does a stand-up routine on all the dumb, silly, farfetched, off the wall, lunitic prophetic utterances these clowns have come up with! These characters should walk around Bethel with the dark blue cone hats with the stars painted on them! They are like the magic practicing priests during Moses time. Where is the sword of Jah on this one? Yours, Maverick

Dear brother: You speak well for a dud-head. Why, may I so humbly ask, are you visiting us? Are you searching for something? Are you hoping we will show you the WAY? Pray to the True God and He will enlighten you. Beware those who claim His ear but prove false to His heart. Watch what they DO, not what they SAY! Maverick PS I hold no malice.

Dear realness: Yes the Witnesses have a form of zealous behavior. This zealousness is interpreted and directed by the Governing Body in Brooklyn. They, (GB) invoke the name of Jesus to lend legitimacy to this formalistic preaching work. It is superfical, shallow, and often self-serving. That's self-serving for the GB not the RF.
Good little J-duds are; expendable, replaceable automatons. They serve the GoverningBodyGod and do its bidding. The true God is forgiving, the GB keeps disfellowshipping records on every witness alive or dead. Why is that? In your new order, when a person in brought back, will he be given a lesser job because in a past life he was naughty?
Are you a member of the elite, annointed? If not, acording to the GB you are doing work as a helper of Jesus' brothers and by them you will be blessed. May your god bless you and praise you. You are storing up treasures in Brooklyn. Maverick

Boy does this tick me off. I shouldn't read this stuff before my morning coffee! It was a good article, the Times has never been a 'fan' of the Witnesses. When I worked there I use to catch flak as a Dud.The J-dud masters do play fast and loose with the truth. The sad part is the RF see this as just more of Satan's persecution on their lily white, pure loving brothers in Brooklyn.
Hey unclebruce, you were trying to be funny??? Now I get it! Maverick

As far as in the work place, it is inappropriate to talk about religion. If asked about some personal point just turn it around, say something general, and ask about their Hall or experiances. Witnesses love that. And they will babble on and forget all about you. Remember they are trained to be very shallow thinkers. Maverick
