Hey! What is wrong with the Stepford Wife Syndrone? All those phony, sniveling, petty men have to have someone to push around! You ladies want they should kick the dog? You want to promote cruelty to animals? This whole process is why the J-duds as a group are passive aggressive. Sister Submissive can't ever seem to get husband Jerky Elder's coffee right, they have only been married 30 years! Well, he just thinks she dumb! Give the ditz a thousand years, she'll get the coffee right eventually. She messes up the bank book, the credit cards and things seen to break a lot around the house, but brother Clueless never puts two and two together. The J-dud master have trained him to overlook the obvious. No wonder so many of the sisters are on psychotropic drugs! Maverick

Women raised as JWs: Did the WTS views on women negatively impact you?
by berylblue ini'd really like to know.. my experience was that women who were raised in the "truth" and married to a good jw brother did not know how to make decisions.
from reading this board, this would, however, appear to be the least of their problems.. what specifically, if any, were the problems associated with always being told you were a second class person and not capable of making decisions?.

Weekend shot to hell by a simple knock on door

i am more mad at myself than anything.
yesterday (saturday) morning, after a very nice friday night of partying and chatting it up at my favorite lounge, knock knock on my door.

Dear Goofy: Let's set aside the whole witness issue for a moment. You are a woman and men showed up at your door unannonced and uninvited. I have some lady friends and I would never do that. A call first, everyone has cell phones, and only with permission. They, as men, were out of line, period, end of story. A lady always has the right to refuse to open the door to anyone. Write them a note and tell them to learn some manners! Maverick

Would you be able to kill?
by JH in.
how would you feel if you had to go to war and kill people?
would your spiritual background stop you from doing this, or would you see this as a patriotic thing to do?

Mark Twain commented on the fact that he never had the opportunity to be in the military and go kill people of whom he was not acquainted. And during the American Civil War when Northern soldiers captured a Southern farm boy rebel they asked him why he was fighting them. He owned no slaves and was just a small dirt farmer. His reply,"cause you are here!" I wouldn't fly ten thousand miles to kill anyone, but let them come here and I'll give both barrels! Maverick

How Do The French Feel About Us?
by Englishman inearlier this week, british cemetries in northern france were vandalised by persons objecting to the war in iraq.. .
a uk newspaper carried this report:.
the showpiece cenotaph at the graveyard in northern france was smeared in red paint with the words: dig up your rubbish.

My family, both sides are french, have lived in America for two generations. None were ever in a hurry to go back! My daughter was in Paris for a while, she loved the food but not the petty, rude behavoir of the locals. She enjoyed the rich culture but found the people smelly and Paris dirty. They are entitled to feel anyway they want. We are entitled not to visit their country and spend our money there. And give them no aid or support. Americans in general don't care what they think and they can do little to hurt us. If all trade stopped between the two nations I think the US would do fine. Let one of those French Exoset missile take out one of our Warships in the Gulf and then you would see some pissed off Americans. It is never a good idea to anger 300 million of the wealthiest and most arrogant people on earth! Look at Afghanistan. And if the US turns it's attention to France they will suffer and in the end hate us even more. As stated on an earlier post, it is a love/hate relationship. Maverick

You can buy a small digital recorder for about $35.oo US. I gave them out to my spies at the Hall. These recorders are very small and look like a pager and have a very good gain. They will record right thru a shirt pocket. Best wishes on your duck and dodge, Maverick

Do You Think That You're A Little Bit Crazy???
by minimus ini spent the week with a few people, 2 jw's and their 2 non-believing husbands.
a few different situations arose that suggested to me that some of these people are a little bit crazy.
now, i'm not talking about certifiably crazy,i'm talking about just a little bit nuts.

If a military person had 'issues' they would run a psych evaluation on him. If he expressed a strong belief he was mentally perfect and wanted to stay in the service at all cost, this was considered a sure sign he was unfit for duty. The sane question their sanity all the time, the loonies 'know' they are fine and everyone else has a problem. The fact that you even ask this question should be encouraging. Maverick, deranged, delirous, and don't know it!

Phone call from my sister.
by els ini haven't been on here in quite a while so let me refresh your memories.
i have a son who is in the army reserves, he went to basic last summer but he's a senior in high school and has to do his individual training so he's not in iraq with his unit.
i haven't heard anything from my family since last july when i told them what he was doing.

It is hard to know the motive of another person. It may be a attempt to start a dialog with you and your son? Maybe this person was hoping you would open up and they then could invite you to the Memorial? Maybe they assumed your son was in the military and they could play on your natural concern for him as leverage to witness to you? Your response may have 'shut them down'. As I said it is hard to know, but the timing is interesting. Someone is thinking of you and talking. Maverick

Unsure and Uncertain faith...
by Gig ini have to wonder...while the living word of the bible says that faith is being sure and certain of things unseen, the wts relies so heavily and is so successful promoting the "earthly-visible org".
any thoughts itching ears?

The Organization use twisted logic. They talk about putting Faith in Jehovah, but point at themselves as they say it. It is not unlike a preacher stating his opinion while holding up the Bible, or pointing to it as if to say, "I got this idea from the Bible". The Society stand in front of the RF and act like they have God's ear. Hell, they claim it! They infer that proof of your faith and loyality in God is shown in how well you listen to them and do their bidding. Maverick
