  i was thinking about how many people i loved.. and conversely, how many people love me.

  in both instances, i only came up with one person.

  (actually, i feel love for some, but i doubt it's reciprocated).

  What have you replaced the Sunday meetings with?

  i have got into the habit of checking this forum and then going out on the deck (which we call the church of flow, it's a perch about 30' up) and playing my guitar for an hour or so - particularly on nice days like today.

  then i come back in, look a bit of tv, eat, read and stuff like that.

  i consider my sunday's sacred, i won't go anywhere unless i have to.

  wondering about the cost of these because i check my husbands wallet before he leaves for the cult and he comes back with the same.

  is it possible that you can have an account there and pay later?

  When I came back from the meeting I have better have more money in my wallet that when I went, cause they would have to pay me to go there and listen to that crap and they would have to pay me a lot!

  As for the cost of the mags, the WTS should be fined for killing trees without good cause! Mav

  that's how it's been for mrs ozzie and i. we managed to combine a week in the tropical north having a short break along with some business (investing in some hotels).

  Sandy your insecurity is showing. I am an older guy and up until very recently had a preference for very white skinned redheads. My ex, a California Redhead, is as white as they come and my daughter is as beautiful, and pale, as her mother.

  I became friends with a woman with a very dark complexion. After spending time with her and growing to love her I find her features very attractive. What I am saying is, if an older man such as myself can change, so can your young man. Your fears and insecurities may in fact be the thing that drives him away. Men don't fake it very well or for very long. If he is not truly attracted to you he will not be around. Please don't call him a liar. Mav

  Good manners and curse words

  one of the comments i have heard many times is what good manners i display.

  i open doors, allow others to cut in line ahead of me, say please, thank you and may i all the time, stand for a lady and many other simple little and often goofy actions that seem to have been lost on the current generation.

  in fact the thing that attracted my present girlfriend was her observation of my good manners.

  Thanks for the feed back y-all!

  As for the "C" word, I hate that word along with any racial slurs. I don't go there at all.

  I have a rather extensive, rich and of'times colorful, vocabulary and will play word games to defuse an otherwise tense situation. When writing it may not be readily apparent because of my inability to spell the majority of the words I know without great effort!

  As the Apostle Paul put it, "I can be all things to all people." I can converse intelligently with professionals on their yachts, and I am equally at home swearing up a storm if those damn Yankees are whipping up on my Bos-Soxs! I'm not proud of the ease with which these earthy expressions flow out of my mouth and I am trying to curb the tendency.

  As a side note, I have heard just as much cursing from "good standy" JW's in my time as I have anywhere else! Mav

In fact the thing that attracted my present girlfriend was her observation of my good manners. And yet, I can swear like a sailor. I grew up as a lower middleclass Yankee from Mass. My father, a wonderful man, almost never swears but my mother would not, and still does not, hesitate to let them rip if she has a mind to! I try to hold my tongue around children and women but on this point I fall short many times. My daughter is not afraid to spit them out either. I take the blame for this since I raised her mostly by myself.

  Now my question. "How do you feel about curse words and the people who utter them? Mav

  The WTS claim to preach the message of the Christ. While they acknowledge many millions of people have not been reached, they accept no blame for this fact putting it off on God, or the governments or anybody but themselves. In lands where they can preach without too much opposition they still accept no blame if the work does not progress, putting that blame on the worker bees who don't have the right spirit. They tell the RF that doing the WTS paper peddling should be done out of love, but then try to put the fear of God into these same people if they don't live up to the WTS requirements. What of the millions the WTS claim that their people do reach? What message are those JW's giving to the worldly dead God just hasn't killed yet? Is it a message of the salvation of the Christ, or it is something counterfeit? The J-Dub Masters want the power and the glory and the honor that is due the Christ. That is why Jesus is relegated to a mere figurehead! Mav
