For women: your view of strip clubs

i have heard two vastly differing viewpoints on this subject over the years.

regarding your significant other, would you care if they went to a strip club or not?

The strip clubs in my area aren't bad. I havent' gone to any of them in awhile. But some years ago, right after my ex-wife left and started working at a strip club herself, I started going once a week of so with my some of my friends. If you got there at around 6pm, there was no cover charge and you could get quarter beers until 8pm. I live in a college town and most of the girls were college girls trying to make a few extra bucks and I even dated a couple of them, one of them being an ex-JW. Those relationships didn't amount to much, but were fun at the time.

I don't have much of a desire to go to strip clubs anymore and my new wife isn't really into that sort of thing, but she doesn't mind if I go every once in awhile if I want to hang out with my friends. And I really wouldn't mind at all if she wanted to go to a male strip club. Trust is a good thing.

Changing your diet - meat, dairy, sugar

i have just finished reading 'confessions of a kamikaze cowboy' by dirk benedict.

in the book he talks about how 'macrobiotics' (exclusion of meat, sugar, dairy among others) helped improve his health and fight cancer.

a lot of what he says about food resonates with me, so im curious.

I've been eating a bit better this year. Harldy any red meat, a couple of servings of fish a week, chicken, plenty of green veggies and fruits like bananas and apricots and nuts like almonds and peanuts. I haven't cut out cheese and milk and I don't think I will.

I've been trying to get back into a work-out schedule over the past couple of weeks and I can see a change in my body and I feel a lot stronger. But I'm still in the beginning stages, so I feel sore and a little more tired than I think I should. Maybe I need more protein.

as an elder, i knew a lot of things that happened in the congregation, including "secret sins".

what i also knew was that some persons were quite good at being sneaky----especially the teens.

years after my daughter stopped hanging around certain friends and she was in her 20's, she told me little juicy tidbits of what some of her best friends regularly got away with.

Naughty things. Well, I guess I was kind of naughty, but not nearly naughty enough. I passed up so many chances with attractive witness girls because I was trying to be a good witness boy. I had many supposedly good witness girls want to help me lose my virginity. But alas, I kept it until 19 and when I did finally have sex with a witness girl, I felt horrible and prayed over and over and thought I was going to die. Eventually I told on myself, and got DF'd. My best witness buds all moved in together, at 19 years old, while I was DF'd and started smoking a lot of pot and doing shrooms and drinking every night. Some were having sex, but still, most wouldn't talk to me because I was DF'd. The only one who wasn't a hypocrite and was willing to talk to me even when I was DF'd is still one of my best friends. The others, I haven't seen in years. I hear they're elders now.

since he is a master tech with 33 years experience, and ford and toyota factory trained maybe you might have some questions about your car and i could give you some good advice to save you some money.. i usually charge $80.00 for a diagnostic at my shop, so get on board and save some money sorry for the brits but i think your cars are somewhat different as far as emission controls are but mechanically the same so let the questions begin..

Okay, I have a question. I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with 90k miles. Two weeks ago my service engine light came on. So I took ti in to get it checked, when I got it in there, the light had gone off. But they said they did a diagnostic test and that I needed a new intake valve and I could use new front brakes.

I said okay, and they ordered the intake valve and raplaced the front brakes. They called me when my part was in and I took it back to the shop. They called me later that day and said my fan belt and my AC belt needed to be replaced and that they had re-checked and this time I needed another intake valve. I let them replace the belts and told them if it was necessary, might as well order the other intake valve.

So far I've paid about $350 for the brakes and the belts. I asked how much it will be for the two intake valves when they get them in, and they told me that will run me another $600. They also told me I should schedule a 90k service check up and that would be $450. I haven't scheduled the service check up yet.

My question is, does that sound reasonable as far as price and why didn't they find all these problems the first time it was in the shop. Also, is it worth it to get the 90k service check up?

What I was taught while growing up was that it's our own experiences, personal thoughts and feelings that make us who we are, so in order to resurrect someone god would have to transfer all of that person's memories and thoughts and feelings into a new body. So, as long as you have the exact same memories that you had the moment you died, in essence you should be the same person even if not in the same body.

But if there was no transfer from the old to the new and it was just a clone of you body-wise then it wouldn't be you. That new body would have new experiences and thoughts that would have nothing to do with the original. Other than the genetic similarities, it would be a completely different person.

did you ever go to the service group and be assigned to the different car groups.....and then....the sister that is assigned to go with you...decline and say...'i am just going by myself today and do my return vistits by myself'..... damn, i should have complained about that one!

Tyrone, do you realize how many potential future witnesses you are turning away from the religion by your harsh words and judgements? Just because people don't agree with what you believe doesn't necessarily mean they're wrong and fit for destruction. You're doing more damage than the so-called apostates here because you're coming across as a bit extreme. And you are ensuring that when I show your posts to some of my bored worldly workmates that the next time a witness comes to their door they will probably turn the witnesses away due in no small part to the way you are presenting yourself here.

Hiring a JW or not?

i work with about 30 guys who fail to realize that one can actually hold a conversation without swear words and still make sense.

it doesn't happen that way.

the words they use frequently make the f-word look like a polished piece of vocabulary.. now, about 4 months ago, the son of a jw family in good standing applied for a job there.

Wow, reading this reminds me of the four years I worked in the restaurant industry. The majority of everyone cussed like sailors, did drugs, and drank on a daily and nightly basis. People wouldn't call in sick, they just wouldn't show up. So the hungover people that did come in had to cover the other person's shifts. Stress and yelling were common place and every few nights someone would just walk out in the middle of their shift. Of course that's probably every restaurant.

I think it'd be good for him, a real eye opener for him.

End of the World Near?

i am wondering how many people out there still believe that in the next 100 years or so that this world/earth is going to be destroyed?.

my husband is a christian, and sometimes he is obsessed with world events in the middle east and he thinks one day soon all the christians are going to be raptured away to heaven while the antichrist rules here on earth.

i am extremely uncomfortable when he talks about it because it reminds me of the jws.. any thoughts out there?

I agree with Pole. I think that people throughout all ages have thought that the world was in a critical state during their lifetime. But eath-shattering instant changes almost never happen. It's just slow change. World powers will slowly rise and fall, wars will start and slowly wane into distant memory. People will gain some freedoms and lose some freedoms. People will complain about their losses while praising their gains. Gas prices will keep going up and cars will slowly change to all hybrids, then to electric or hydrogen, then we'll all be flying or teleporting.

People will keep on being born, growing old and dying wondering why some earth-shattering event didn't transpire in their lifetime when in actuality amazing changes did occur, but they just occurred slow enough that it didn't register as much of a change. This will keep on going on until an actual earth-shattering event does happen, such as a meteor colliding with earth or the sun burning out.
