Why are they so quick to shun?

cedars story made me wonder why are parents and loved ones so quick to shun??

i mean it can be shown biblically that only people that do not believe in jesus as the messiah are apostates.

thessalonians tells us to keep admonishing one as a 'brother' and jesus christ himself said to love your enemies.

Because it has not been done to them...I have a friend who was a witness...she has a big family..some were witnesses & some were muslims, buddhist, etc..So when some became witnesses they shunned part of the famiy that were not witnesses, well, down the line some became muslims & they don't mix company either...well don't you know, who were the ones complaining saying, Cousin so & so won't associate with us now that they are muslims, so my friend said..."WELL DIDN'T YOU DO THE SAME THING" ? They got quiet. Most of the time folks are a certain way until it happens to them. There is a saying..."it's always the thief that screams the loudest"...case in point with the witnesses...they like to say & do things to people but when it's done to them, they make a big stink...Folks like to shun, because it makes them feel good about themselves, because they think they are in a safe space. What also boggles the mind is when folks agree with DF'ing...what would make a person feel good about that, why? Because it's not them, at the time..it's like going to a church where they preach heaven & hell & find out, there is no hell & then get mad because there is no punishment...what type of people are they really. Yes, it may be scriptually based, but I feel bad about it, hope it doesn't to me or anyone else. It shouldn't make a person feel good because DF'ing & shunning is in the bible...that's just mean...ummm...a thought, many witnesses might just be that before they were witnesses...Mean spirited...

Jesus was moved to pity...& we are to imitate him....I digress.

mom: "yeah... those who believed that last year was the end of the world".

i mean, how stupid is it to have a rock tell them when the end of the world is!!

@ The Searcher...Exactly. Since I've been a witness (almost 6 months baptized), I realize the same concept. Keep using the bible...That's what I do. No matter what they say from the stage...Believe only what is in black & white...THE BIBLE. In the end we are going to have to carry our own loads. God is not really concerned where you sit on Sundays or wherever you worship. Do you believe man or God (me), that's the question we will have to answer.

Thanks for the encouraging reply...I keep sitting & keep shut & every now & again, plant a seed, because that is all you can do. What I have realized it's not the doctrine it's the hold that the org. has on it's congregation, what they hold on to is that this is God's org., that is their main claim to fame. The doctrine can be wrong, witnesses don't care about the doctrine not one bit...it's being a part of God's chosen org. So, God looked down and searched the entire earth & saw some folks in PA., & said, that's them, the ones I've been looking for. Don't think so. That is where smuggnish comes in. That's why they say that the Jews are no longer the chosen but them, the witnesses have taken the place of the Chosen JEWS. Don't think so. The fight is not using the bible is to wean them away from the pacifier of the Mother ORG.

What annoys me...Can't have any fun...Oh, they claim they have fun but it's tea parties, apple picking...all centered around food. Even when they use illustrations it's about food...

But what really irritates me is that they tell you what to do, live simply, don't go to college, don't buy things that you don't need. But has anybody ever been to a witness HOUSE...not apartment but house, Co-op or Condo....they have the very best & most of them are teachers & other types of professionals.They are do as I say not as I do.

&&&&& Can't have no fun.

I agree with Oubliette. This is not negative but the truth about the truth...reality...I have noticed most witnesses have a certain characteristic...Depressed...social misfits, down trodden, etc...oh yeah cry babies...I'm sick, I'm depressed, I suffer from migranes' (you know). They seem to be sicker than any other folks in other religions....One person said on this site that they are like children, when children whine & complain, it's to get attention...so no ctrwtf, you are not being negative, you are telling it like it is...

Don't think many that are still in, don't think what you are thinking just afraid to say it...otherwise, they have no one because they have cut off all other contact with long time friends & family & they will be alone...

Once a sister & I were talking about how the world is now & so much craziness going on, she replied, yep, & she can see why he would want to end this system...in my plant seeding way I said, yep, but more & more babies are being born daily...the more babies being born the more babies he's going to have to destroy in the end...she got quiet...

No one can say when God is sick of this world...it's his call...so everytime the witnesses predict, God pushes it further until he is ready, as long as the witnesses keep predicting, he'll keep pushing the end further & further away...Do they really think God is going to let man make the call of when the end will be....Heck NO...The witnesses are already full of themselves...

Since witnesses know when the fall of Jerusalem was...607 BC...just count backwards....lol...

Seriously, God thought she was too young to loose her virginity...that's why he deflowered, but come to think of it, when she gave birth, she wasn't a virgin no more...not possible... now I'm not saying God can't do all things ...in fact he can do anything..he is God. How old was she, who knows...ask a witness. Oh wait, I'm a witness...but I don't know...

If I ask any of the sisters or brothers..they would say...some things Jehovah don't want us to know...

I'm still in, but I know they say, this sister is so happy. She was happy & joyful when she came in...always comes to the meetings...friendly...

Shucks, but now what can we take credit for ? That's how witnesses are....you are supposed to be broken when you come & so they can dust you off & fix you up & ready for company....I ended up in the truth because I worked with a sister, I was going through a separation with my hubby, she was there. So when she would have her meetings & wanted to share with me what she had learned....I listened, I figured only fair, she listened to me...& so the story goes...One day she asked me...who is the ruler of the world..thought for a second & said, it can't be God...can't be God, too much bad stuff..

& now I'm here....don't mind it at all..because I don't care if it's not God's org.

Wasting Time In The Ministry--How Did You Do It??

i know of a couple of elders that regularly went out in the ministry throughout the week.

no matter which street they were on, they always seemed to be near the same spot.

Stand at the door for a while after you rang the bell. This shows that you are not just out ringing bells & moving away...They love when you ring the bell & wait for a long time....because they say, most likely the are home but just don't want to answer the bell. Some try to look in the peep holes & say, I think I saw someone...then stand some more...if it's a 2 or 3 family house...one friend rings the door bell, the other one goes out to see if someone comes to the window..then they say..I think I saw a curtain move...(most likely it's a windy day & the wind blew the curtain) but this is a tactic to show how zealous one is....Many have many tricks. Some say they have a return visit, knowing the person ain't home but they have already made coffee break arrangements with another friend & say, we are going on a return visit...but all they are doing is driving out to the farest Dunkin Donuts so they are not seen in the territory.

I have a slew of return visits...I'm saving them for just the right moment...shhhh, don't tell anybody....

it rams lies down our throats, trying to convince us the the wt is god's organisation.

it lies to us about how the wt is doing jehovah's will.. we are going to be subjected to lies, lies and more lies for weeks.

I see exactly what you are saying...I agree..& so you have to ask yourself are they following men or God ? I think folks have to see something to follow. It's not enough just to follow something that one can't see. In the days of Paul & others, they didn't have the complete bible so they had to have blind faith. We have the scriptures & so we see...I think it really comes down to fellowshipping being around folks who care for you. Wherever you go, you meet ones that have the same mind as you..spiritual...& that can be a comfort, but not for all....As you say, some like to be led around blindly...have no mind of their own. Those are the same folks that join pyramid schemes..JOINERS....bet you in school they did just enough to get through.

Do you think that when God said get out of her..he meant the ORG. TOO ?

I have my meeting tonight. What I see so many people harp on is that ..THIS IS GOD'S ORG. why is that so important ? What makes folks want to be chosen, why wouldn't it be ok if it wasn't God's Org. but that they try to stick to the bible the best that they know how. Has anyone here ever been on other sites about other religions, don't you know that most folks that are a part any religion find fault & most believe they are chosen by God/Jesus. Why are people harping on that ? This is what really puzzles me...Then upset because the org. says they are, but then we see well maybe they are not. Do we think so much of ourselves that we won't worship unless it's validated by God. Every place of worship thinks they are chosen, but haven't we all read that God is not partial.

If one wants to be part of a religion, don't think too much of oneself to think that where they go has been chosen. Be there because you want to & believe at least 70 to 80 % of what they say...Go to the Bible...that's the absolute truth & stop being angry that this isn't God's org. Basically what I'm saying is..

So What it isn't God's org. neither is the vatican or any other place of worship. I know they say they are, but it's been proven more than a million times they are not. Don't Jewish folks still think they are chosen ? Who told them ? God/Jesus & they still think it...whether it's true or not...at the end of the day...try to follow God/Jesus the best way you can. Wake up everyday & try to be a better person than the day before.

Man can't even direct his own steps...keep that in mind, & if you do that, wherever you worship you will stay, because if you are looking for an org. that is chosen by God, you'll never find one. Be the one the God has chosen...in the midst of an org.

I did my studies for tonight...let's see how they present it tonight..The answers are right there...but we still gonna have to put it in our own words. I think they are going to call on the young ones more..we shall see...
