OK..Seriously..Has GOD ever answered your prayers????

look...i am not an atheist.

even so, i have never had one prayer answered my entire life.

the only thing that would even come close was learning ttatt.

Seriously, he must answer prayers..I'm still here....some of the stuff I've done in my younger years, may have merited me not to be here any more. There are prayers answered everyday, even for folks who don't pray..what about a drug user, that has a healthy baby. Or a druggy that kicks drugs. Somebody today just heard they were in remission of cancer or someone just had a healthy baby. Good stuff happens to good folks, bad stuff happens to good folks, good stuff happens to bad folks...& so on...when the sun is shinning does it decide who it will shine on or not shine on...the sun shines on the good & the bad..so some prayers are answered.

The thing is what is our attitude when our prayers are not answered...should we only use God in an emergency...& then other times we rely on ourselves....how would feel about a friend who only called on you when you needed something...I call that a fair weather'd friend....it's when we don't get what we want that we tend to question whether God answers prayers...there are many people in the world that are not on this Forum & many could verify that God does answers prayers....Plus it depends what you ask for....One may ask for a car & don't have a licsence the first....& has anger problems...if they pray to God for a car....should he/she give it to them so that others who pray will be struck down by this person & they won't be able to ever pray..

A talk was given at my hall...from a bethelite....he was as usual talking about Jah, what he does & doesn't do...He was talking about Jehovah saving folks. The brother talked about 911 in NYC, he says, God watched as the plane crashed into the first building, he watched as the second building collasped, he didn't do anything, I was on the tie-line, it sounded so cruel...just the way the brother delivered it...the hall was silent & I can bet how many folks might have taken it in...I just sat there & listened...and said, wow, God watched it all & didn't do nothing...so the point of this, was to say, that folks always wonder why Jehovah doesn't save or intervene or allow suffering....Because when Jesus his son was nailed to the cross/stake, God didn't save his own son, so why would he save us....

So as you see if God wouldn't intervene with his Son, watching him go through torture & didn't lift a finger because he wanted to show everyone that one person would be obedient to him, 'til the end...to show Satan & the World...gives you something to think about....if a Father won't save his own child to show someone who is Boss....'nuf said....

But I always thought, how one would feel if they knew they would have to die but was guaranteed to come back after 3 days...reminds me of someone taking the rap for a crime/stealing money, promised the money if they just did a little time in prison...what would you do ? Maybe Jesus asked his father God, Listen Pop, you want to go to earth suffer, & die for 3 days & you'll bring me back, how am I to suffer...will it hurt ? God says well yeah, it's gonna hurt but I'm bringing you back...Just do this for me...OK ? Jesus replies: Ok, but you gonna bring me back, right ?

Ladies - how often should you wash your hair??

i've cut my hair washing from every 2 days to every 4 days and this week, i've left it 7 days.

it's been growing much better and is in great condition!

any tips for growing your hair lush and lovely?.

Ever see a bald headed hobo/homeless person? Nope, everything in balance....Washing ones hair depends on what type of hair you have. Some folks have to wash their hair more often because it gets oily. Black people have to put oil in their & folks that have straight hair, have to wash it out. I say wash it when it begins to smell...

I believe it depends on ones hair type. Don't ask hairdressers, they make money, so they'll tell you to wash your hair once a week, & you must go to them because you need a conditioner treatment...Not so....our hair comes from our scalp..so it's how you eat & take care of yourself.

Visited Baptist church on Easter

i live in a rural area; in field service we had to drive from house to house.. i have not had any desire to visit any church for several years now.

saturday i was doing chores in my yard - washing the car, etc.

- and 2 ladies drove in, dressed like witnesses would be dressed.

The witnesses have changed, so how could they think that other places of worship have not changed....Most of the churches now, are basically motivational. They come to person right where they are at in their life. Yes, there are still some that preach fire & brimstone, but they are fading fast. The new generation is very different. Being a christian is not easy. To bring folks in is even more difficult....many people feel God is angry with them because of their past, or they feel unworthy to approach God/Jesus. What I find being at the hall, all you hear is preach & teach...if you come from another church, you can't even sit there & be comforted...always, something to do....for some their burdens of life are so heavy, they are good to get up out of their bed...to make it to a place of worship....Witnesses always say, never forsake the gathering with others....they think if you sit & attend meetings, eventually you will be a christian..but I heard a preacher say, you can sit in a garage day after day & you'll never be a car...being a christian comes in all forms & fashions, just not going out to preach, what about helping someone that is not your sister or brother...

I'm happy some go to churches.....just to see that the witnesses don't know what they are talking about....many say that their preacher/pastor say don't talk to those witnesses...I have never heard that from any pulpit....they don't believe in insulting their worshippers, because someone in their may know a witness. But not so with the Kingdom hall, they have no problem talking about other religions...that can be offending. Who knows maybe one day someone may say to friend or an elder, at the end of the meeting.....Nice meeting but you shouldn't talk about other religions...

I'm kind of a newbie....don't really think like a witness....because I have an open mind...but follow me...Look! Jehovah’s hand+ will come against your livestock in the field....see it says IN THE FIELD...so if there were livestock in the barns or wherever else...they were spared....Now don't get me wrong I was on board when I read this topic, but then I thought again on how witnesses think, remember they have an answer for every little thing. So most likely there were some livestock untouched....but like me...put it in google...they answer everything...just like the witnesses...but still a good point...

What is the main "idea" of the bible?

as jws we were often told what the theme of the bible is, we were taught that it was the promised seed.. i was recently asked the question.... what is the main "idea" of the bible?.

for me the whole purpose of the bible is about control.

it features a god that punishes and rewards.

Be Good & Be ready.....Be good to your fellow man (if possible). & Be ready, when judgment comes. Oh, & don't get too attached to material things. They can be here today & gone tomorrow...Money only supplies comforts, it will not make you happy. Once folks get alot of money, then they spend it going to the shrink to tell them..I have all this money & something is missing...I'm not happy...So when you do get the money, you spend it at the shrinks office. So he or she can say....You don't like your parents...

Hi,

What is going on in schools today, to make the students angry ? Is it the home or the school? The young ones seem to be taking it out on their fellow students....what is making them so mad....AT SCHOOL ? Kids go into these schools, all we know is that the teachers are teaching, but what else...something IN THE SCHOOL IS MAKING THEM ANGRY & THEN THEY LASH OUT...

Something to think about....if one has the time...

Sorry I didn't get back to you...I forget sometimes or most of the time I comment but most folks don't address my comments. Maybe they are off or maybe I'm hitting some stuff right on the nail...I have someone I can discuss this with, when I told her she thought about it, but said, well it's a vision, not a fact, but I forgot to say, so was Daniel, but they take that for gospel. I told a sister & she said, well, who is talking, blah blah blah...I think they just read it & don't think. Yet, when you point it out, they get all huffy, it's not that I'm questioning the bible, I'm questioning MAN's interpretation of the bible. Another point...Jesus weapon is usually a 2 edged sword, not a arrow...Jesus is a lover not a figher...There are so many things I see in the bible that doesn't line up with the WT literature. My favorite stumbler...Mike is Jesus...how do the Witnesses explain Heb (forgot chapters & verses) where it said, to which Angel did God ever say, you are my son ? The Truth has led me to the truth. Every now & again I may point out something to a sister or brother, then they say...ah, I missed that. Don't let Man fool you...That's how Satan works, he makes folks sound good & convincing, until you read the bible for yourself.

I'm glad you agree with me...& thanks for replying...most folks don't...& that's ok. I just come on here to vent. I comment all over the place then from time to time check to see if anyone comments back...Maybe we'll talk again.

The watchtowers biggest mistake

the moment the leadership of the wt (a publishing company whose purpose was originally to produce pamphlets and books to edify christians) first made the claim to be gods sole channel of communication for dispensing biblical truth here on earth.

that not so discreet assumption has now left them wide open to 'everything they teach as truth'.

as a result, every time an error is exposed or a teaching is changed, their credibility will continue to be affected.

If you could go to the meetings & question what the literature says.....different opinions...They just might come up with THE REAL TRUTH...If it is the Truth, then why can't one challenge it. Why do we have to sit there & drink it & suppress what we really see in the bible, that does not line up with their literature, think of how much of the truth they really would have. There are some thinkers in the org. not at HDQ, but in the halls....Just imagine if they were able to share what they learned.

They say it all the time....God is not partial. So would he be partial to choose a few folks & use them as his mouth piece as Prideful as man is. Give man a little knowledge & he is hard to deal with or will he listen. Like the name Jehovah...is that a Hebrew name...would God name himself after the Israelites, especially since he was going to send his son for our sins....He was also appealing to the gentiles...would he want the gentiles to say, Hey, God is a Jew, I know as a Gentile, I don't stand a chance. No that's man...I think when the WT started it was a good idea, but Man can't keep it up...The WT is not doing anything but adding more burdens on the congregation....if this is the end of times, we are to lighten our loads, not add more...

All religions make mistakes...although, the WT admits to them by explaining their mistake with another one....it's called CYA (Covering your assets)..

I opened a topix last week on this past Sunday's WT...all I want to say is...how could Jesus/The Lamb, be on the white horse, then open up the other seals. Why does the WT, have Jesus on a white horse with bow & no arrow ? Could it be that Jesus summoned these 4 horseman to carry out the judgement. I shared my thoughts with 2 sisters....I kept asking them, who is the He, in the scriptures that keep opening up the seals..one said, it's a vision, one said who is talking & who is this person talking to....I repeated....who is the He. They just didn't get it....even if it was a vision, how in the world could Jesus be opening the seals, go out & conquer then....

(JesusChrist), opens the first four of the seven seals, which summons four beings that ride out on white, red, black, and pale horses.

Any comments ?
