Witnesses and care of the elderly

my uber jw mother fell and broke her arm a couple of weeks ago.

first off no one told me until 5 days later when i called to check in with her.

there was someone staying with her at the time but that person was going to have to go elsewhere for a week.

I understand...but guess what ? God sees all...no need to be sorry...doesn't the bible say we reap what we sow...sure it does...You are not a bad person...do what you can...& that's all you can do....Many times we do things we don't want to but that's when God really looks at us...it's easy to do things for those we love or care about, but to do for those who have hurt us or shunned us...that's where it's at...Don't worry about your Elder cousin, he's going to have to answer to God for himself...we all will be accountable for only ourselves...let him worry about his own salvation...if you believe in God, just stay in your lane...You don't have to have any natural affection for Mom, but is she goes on...you don't want to be hanging over the coffin & kicking & screaming because you feel guilty...do what you can while she is here, even if it's not from the heart...If you Mom knew bette she would do better, some folks are so paradise bound they are no earthly good....I am not betting you, because I know you are right...Elders are humans first....if they don't fix the inside before the outside, they'll never be any good...Take Care..won't be on this site of a while...got stuff to do...

Most witnesses feel going out in field service, reaching out for pioneering/MS/Elder, know the bible (so they think). dressing modestly, having neat literature, neat bible (which if your bible is neat, to me it means...you don't use it), having a neat home, don't curse (not in public anyway), moaning & groaning about life, saying they know why God wants to get rid of this system, etc...is a substitute for being kind to others...It's all lip service. Oh sure, they'll visit so & so in the hospital in the beginning, & say, you know I went to see so & so in the Hospital, don't even hardly know the person, but will go, just to say they did & you didn't. Most of them need a pat on the back for emptying the trash at the hall...HOW COMMENDABLE...It's all about what it looks like, they say, Jehovah looks at the heart but they haven't really got the message at all. They are all about appearance...ever go to the counter to get your literature, how many take a lot of magazines....just to show...See, I'm a good little witness, that's why I'm taking all these magazines, because I do give out these magazines, I may run out...now go their homes...or even listen to them....you'll hear...or see they have so many magazines, they are thinking about getting rid of them....It's the greatest show on earth besides the circus....why do you think we have to fill out field service reports, to show...why from the platform they say in the middle of the month, well, we still haven't gotten a few field service reports (from not the previous month but the month before that), you know why ? Because they can't SHOW A LOT OF HOURS NOR A LOT OF MAGAZINES GIVEN OUT....So Lynnie, don't worry about them witnesses, just make sure you do what you're supposed to do....I have an elderly MOM & I speak with her daily at least 3 to 4 times, I try to get to see her during the week, & always see her on the weekend, maybe not Sat. & Sunday...I take breaks because I work & my mom understands, because I've been taking care of her for a long time now...& she says, I don't need to be around sick folks all the time...but because she is understanding I don't neglect her...again, you do your part...Parents are not perfect but they raised us & it wasn't easy, so all you are doing is giving her back what she gave you...Try to talk to her more, you never know...even if you can't visit....My Mom also has help during the day, but they are just making sure she's ok, but they are no replacement for....ME...her child...

wt 7/15/2014....page 27...question # 17...what will we consider in the next article...paragraph 17...but how can we be jehovah witnesses and at the same time be witnesses of jesus....well well well...i think they really got the point...all through the greek scriptures, that's what jesus has been saying...we are to witness about him....in the hebrews scriptures was about jehovah god, most of the world got that.

now jehovah, put another spoke in the wheel his son...jesus...that's who paul has been talking about all along...that he was witness of jesus, paul knew who god was.

i think the society monitors sites like these & others & found out....they may have been, uh...wrong....wonder how are they going to spin this one off....i won't read the next article just yet... comments anyone ..... legacy.

Thanks for your comments...I just wanted to share .....& again, just trying to make sure I don't drink the kool-aide...I do think at times to leave, but I've made some nice friends....oh they are friends with that have conditional love, but I have still have freinds that are not in the truth, they don't bother me, they still love me like I love them...it gives me a balance...not like the friends in the hall, they are not balanced. One thing I do know what I read in the bible, plus if you are into grammar, you know exactly what the bible says. For some who are not that educated, it goes over their heads....The bible sometimes speaks in 1st 2nd or 3rd tense....so if you were educated in english & grammar at least, the bible is clear as a bell....Now when man interprets it...a sample of this weeks WT & all the societies literature, it is confusing...& done intentionally...you scramble your brain so they can unscramble it....Being a witness is easy & it's for those who want it easy, they don't have to think, the thinking is done for them....I think it was Blondie that posted why are Witnesses victims of scams....They want to belong to something that is elite, where their ears are tickled & where it has a sought of competitive atmosphere...not really out right but enough that if a person has ambitious gene, they fit. I know many that have joined these pyramids.....but they like to have money but be full-time pioneers, want to work part-time for full time pay...I think they are looking for the end so much, they missing the present. I not sure where I'm going to end up, because I'm a thinker, but I do love God/Jesus....Wonder if there is a place of worship that has no doctrine or no rules, just go & hear how we are supposed to be good to our fellow man...Ah...just wondering...Again, thank you all for your comments....Smart bunch here on the site..

That is so true....you know why ..because it's not in there...Another thing...isn't Jehovah a Hebrew name...& if God is not partial, why would he name himself after Hebrews....Sloppy Joe said in Isaiah 62:2, he promised a new name. I read some of the article...not too much, because I knew they wouldn't give Jesus his props...& to really think of it...we are not witnesses, we didn't see nothing...now them Israelites, you can call them witnesses because they didn't see God, but heard from him....literally....The article went on to mention what a witness is...someone who was there...none of us were there....Paul didn't even see Jesus being killed....I have a name....CHRISTIANS....that covers it all...

My jw mum threw us out.

my brother (non-jw but became a christian 6 months ago) and i nursed my aged jw mother back to a semblance of strength over the last three weeks.. the elders were happy to pass the buck on to me, her da'd daughter and my bro.. he has been living with her for 3 months and has transformed her ill-kept home and garden and literally nursed her like a professional alone.

before i stepped in to help him care for her.

he repeatedly told her how much he loved her and was so caring, it brought a lump to my throat.. he has been going to church sunday mornings, telling her he 'was meeting up with friends' so as not to cause friction.but she knew where he had been.. we noticed a shift in her demeanour towards us (she knows i'm a church-goer) over the week-end and she started to.

She's expecting the friends in the congregation to come see about her...NOT...Some elderly whether JW or not, are mean spirited. Being ill doesn't makes it more noticeble. A friend of mine has 14 brothers & sisters....15 in all...& only my friend helped her Mom & Dad when they got sick. They have died since, but not one helped. Yet, the Mom would treat my friend mean, finally, she made my friend cry & she told her Mom, she wasn't ever coming back to the hospital to visit her anymore...as she was leaving the room & walking down the corridor, her Mom said in a loud voice..."Don't leave, I'm sorry"...Why the sick & elderly do this, I don't know. But we never know what type of elderly person we'll turn out to be....As long as you did your best, Jehovah sees the heart...of all believers not just JW's...God is not partial, but Man is...

currently i am still an active jw with serious questions about the jw org.

i was hesitant signing up but really need as much input from the people on this forum to get a clear understanding on things.

I'm still active myself & know all about the flip flops & shunning...It doesn't bother me. I knew this about the org. before I started. I wanted to know exactly who these witnesses were....& did I get an ear & eye full.....They are a bunch of imperfect folks who think others are more imperfect than they are. Many on here have swallowed alot of the kool-aide & now back peddling for whatever their reasons were or are. Yes some on here to curse yet others make good points, that are hard to deny. Just like the hall, accept some of the opinions & others just don't. As far as gays are concerned..they really aren't gun-ho about getting married, it's that the law won't allow a partner to get insurance or an inheritance. Many have lost their partners & they made out wills so the other partner could get some money, & don't you know the families swoop down & take all they money they don't deserve. Most of their families don't even agree on their way of life, so the partner that is alive have to go through so much legal stuff just to even get a couple of dollars...I'm not gay but have gay friends...it's not the best life there is...it can be lonely. We see today, it's even harder for straight folks to meet someone...that's why we have so many dating web-sites, so imagine how it is in the gay world....It's nothing that they choose to be, it is what it is....many have tried to fight it & have married & found out they just couldn't continue & have hurt many people. We are not to judge, that's Jehovah's job. Life as it is now...is not easy. Believe in Jehovah & his son Jesus have the faith of the hope, because faith is just a supporting actor of hope. Go your meetings take what you need & spit out the rest. I come on here to vent & to see that when I read & study I'm not crazy. Many on here see the flaws of the org. If this God thing is all true, we are all going to answer for ourselves..it won't make a bit of difference when you are judged to say, Hey Jehovah, I belonged to your organinzation, I am a Jehovah witness. The answer will be...Everyone that says Lord Lord..& I know you know the rest....Jehovah is not partial...just keep that in mind...I just wanted to reply...Take Care...

Hi,

That God cares who you have sex with. With all the crazy stuff folks are doing to one another...Does he really care who you have sex with. Now if you are married, he may care because he knows someone will get hurt. Other than that, there is so much going on...Football stars beating up there mates. Planes falling out of the sky, folks cutting other folks heads off, right on TV....etc etc....& another one...Jesus is Michael the Archangel...that's ridiculous, wouldn't God have told us...God is not a God of confusement...I wonder in a few years, will that still hold water...It's not mentioned so much....ummmm...

There are a few more, but that's all for now....OH, I thought of another one...THAT THEY ARE GOD'S ORG....God is not partial...

What will the next "witness" fad illness be??

as we know, it seems that many witnesses "suffer" from "illnesses" at times.. now , before anyone scolds me for being insensitive or unfeeling, i am not mocking those who really suffer from illnesses of any sort.

i am having a go at those that jump on the bandwagon of the popular illness, which actually makes real sufferers feel jaded.. i am referring to the way that many witnesses who are actually damaged as a result of the constant "fear.obsession.guilt" of jw propaganda, often seem to "contract the current illness going around", or blame it on that instead of looking at the real cause.. im sure it is a subconcious result of the burdensome pressure of jw life that brings it on.

instead of seeing the draining effect on their lives as being the result of witness life, they will latch on to the next illness going around.. so, what is the latest going to be?.

I've said this all over this site before....They are suffering from Suppression...knowing the Society is not always telling the truth. Hearing through the grapevine of child abusers, elders doing what they want, certain members getting away with stuff, suppressing the stuff they do in private. That's enough to make anyone sick...They have no outlet, they can't talk to anyone to say,hey, now what is the society saying now....what use to be true, now they say it's a new light...Is this really God's org. They are not sure anymore, but can't express it....Their bodies are turning on them. I'm starting to have aches & pains, but I try not to talk about it too much. I go out in service, about 15 minutes into going out, that's when the freinds start to talk about what ail's them....which is LIFE ITSELF...they are so busy waiting for the end, they can't even be well for the moment....It's all suppression...not Depression.

Witnesses are just whinney kids dressed up in adult costumes....all they want to do is go out in service, then go out for a while & complain about ....whatever..too hot, too cold....allergies...you name it. Not all are like that, but I've been on this site for a while now & so it must be common. When I first started coming to the hall, I noticed it...well, I noticed alot of things. I'm baptized, I know all about the society & it's ways. I know these folks are just as jacked up in the head as I am. When I started to go, I noticed they didn't walk on water, like they think they do..I told a sister that, she was surprised, because they do think they walk on water, but they say, well, folks think we are perfect..I told her yes they do, & it's because how you present yourselves to others, nobody makes up this stuff. I never thought any human was perfect...not even JW's...
